Hi, I'm Jennifer with Jennifer Decorates and today I'm going to show you how to make a
do-it-yourself haunted house using an old plastic dollhouse. So stay tuned.
This is the dollhouse I'm going to transform today. They're really easy to find from thrift
stores to maybe you've got a friend whose little girl isn't playing with hers anymore.
I spotted my first one in the back of a guy's truck. He was headed to the dump.
I followed him and asked him if I could have it. So keep your eyes open.
The first step is spray painting the entire dollhouse black.
I'm going to use Krylon in flat black. So get busy spraying.
So how awesome did this house turn out? I love the scary Victorian look.
The first thing I'm probably going to do is I'm going to break out some acrylic paint in
probably a green and an orange and a purple and I might just paint a little bit of the
rails here. I might do a color around the window. I might add even a little bit of
glitter for fun. What you need to do next, which is the funnest part to me,
is adding all the miniatures to your dollhouse that's going to make it come
alive from little hay bales to little pumpkins. This is a great project to get your kids involved.
You can find all of these items at any crafting store or hobby store.
Be sure to grab one or two packs of Halloween lights and they're going to be, you want to get
battery operated lights, string them across your house, and then tuck in the battery pack either
behind the window or around the back. So I'm going to go have a little bit of fun with this and I'll
be right back. I hope you enjoyed this Halloween decoration idea. Please subscribe to my channel.
I'm going to have more videos on do-it-yourself projects, decorating, and holiday fun.
Thank you for watching.
