Novak Djokovic vs Jannik Sinner First Meeting _ Monte Carlo 2021 Extended Highlights & Reaction

Have a good one. Hi guys, can you do a picture, please? Sorry, sorry. Not so fast. Thank you. Need to get a picture as they were scampering off. Umpire René Lichtenstein just reminding them. Oh, he's guessed the right way. Djokovic letting him off the hook there. There we go. And like I say, Lucy, it's not a completely alien prospect for Sina because they have trained a fair bit in the past. Created by his coach. That's really nicely done. I'm not sure Djokovic would accept playing two Sinas now. That's terrific from Sina, who's just really switched on the radar now. Oh, has that landed safely? It has. Such a good shot, isn't it? The backhand cross-court. Well, it's just what he does, isn't it? Djokovic does just hit back immediately. Oh, it's a fantastic touch from Djokovic. Again, using that drop shot well. He's playing it to the exact same spot, isn't he? Djokovic is able to find a break. It could be a crucial break. A taste of your own medicine. The turn of pace is there. He's landed it. Perfectly placed again. Whips away. And Sina does celebrate that break. Delicate. Very, very delicate from Djokovic. Good combination, though, isn't it? The depth of the return, just pushing Sina back, and then the drop shot. They call the undoing for Sina. And Djokovic does conjure up another set point. Certainly not having things all his own way, Novak Djokovic, but he is able to secure that first set. And a big reaction. He was keeping things under wraps, the world number one. First set in the bag. It's continuing to work, isn't it? He's not going to chase that one down. That's just mean from Novak. The placement at times from both players, an absolute joke there. I mean, it was so close to the lines. Maybe thought that he would have been pushed here. Oh, he's got it. He's lost his footing there, Djokovic, slightly, and Sina taking advantage. He's the one that's been moved around the court a lot of the time. Nails this one on the stretch. Great shot, isn't it? High percentage, but he has... Magnificent. A Novak Djokovic scorcher. It is job done for Novak Djokovic. A first win of the week here. And a straight set. We thought it could be tricky. Yannick Sina proved a tough nut to crack at times for the world number one. He's back in the winning groove after a couple of months away. And it looked all pretty ominous for the rest of the field. That was impressive. Yannick's a great young talent, isn't he? Quite a tall guy as well. How well does he move around this surface on these courts? He's an all-round player. I mean, he hits the ball in the sweet spot more or less on any surface, really. And he's got a lot of talent and he has proven that he's the future of our sport. He's actually already the president of our sport, playing finals and masters already. I mean, he's making himself big strides in professional tennis.
