I WENT TO YOUTUBE SCHOOL YouTube NextUp

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel It's been a really really really long but amazing week Yeah, if you guys follow me on Instagram or on Twitter You would know that I was part of the YouTube next up camp and if you don't know what that is It's something that you apply and YouTube basically picks about 13 creators from all the applications and they bring them to the YouTube space LA for a whole week and They give you workshops and they give you one-on-one time with mentors with creators that are like a million subscribers who I learned so much about YouTube that I didn't know and that I just wasn't taking into account for my YouTube at the end of the camp they give you a $2,000 voucher For equipment, so basically I'm going to get so much new equipment all over my youtube channel And I am so so happy about that because I'm just going to get so much stuff to make my channel a lot Greater and a lot better. So Yeah, I'm really excited about that. Anyways the very first day. I was very nervous Hi guys So I just got ready to go to YouTube next up and I'm really really excited and also very nervous I don't know why but I can't stop thinking about how nervous I am Just going to YouTube space and hang out with other people that create stuff on YouTube Yeah, I'm really nervous nothing like this has ever happened to me like I never thought I would win something like that I'm sure this week is gonna go by really fast because I'm gonna be having Such a great time. Yeah, I'm really really super excited. Hey, you saw a tail See you guys there Anyways, I get to the space I meet every all of the other creators We're all Latino creators, which was amazing guys. There is free coffee every day at the YouTube space They have a barista and it's free and you could get whatever you want and every single day They had free breakfast for us free snacks free lunch free dinner Look, I don't know about you guys But not having to worry about what to eat or about cooking or about groceries or about anything like that for a whole week Was great. So the first day we did this Kind of icebreaker. It was like an improv session improv Activity we analyzed other people's channels. We have a really fun presentation that we're gonna do it has like dance We're gonna be like in sync it's gonna be great winning team right here So they did my channel And I don't know if I want them to win now or our team All right, who is Monica a little bit of Monica? Well, who is she? One thing she is. She's a filmmaker inspiring filmmaker. She finished school So she's really good and getting those nice close-up shots and making it look like it means something And she does skits and relatable content, which I don't really know what to do with my hands But it's a bunch of like that kind of stuff I was really curious to See what other people see when they go to my channel, you know what I mean? Anyways, so the YouTube people Divided us into two groups or two houses. Our team was called team chanclas and I Actually came up with a name. I don't know why this is something that we can all identify with You know, we have all seen an angry mom with a chancla. So Then we took a tour of the space of the whole Sound stages and all of that and there was one point where we were walking in the main Lobby area where there's this huge screen and guess what they were playing They were playing my video. Yeah, it was very surreal seeing my face so huge Huge screen, but it was really really cool to see that So at the end of the first day, they took us bowling and it was really really fun. I found out that I suck So the second day we actually took a production class Cameras don't know if something is a light or if it's just white Right, so you turned here the cameras gonna be like whoa Something's brighter and it's gonna bring your exposure down at the end We went to the hotel where everybody else was staying and we had this amazing dinner Hey Guys it's day three of the YouTube Next up creator camp and I am the first one here for the first time I'm gonna stay in the hotel from today until Wednesday. So for the last three days But I am the first one here and I'm waiting for everybody else. I don't know where they are I got scared. I thought you guys all of you guys were in there So since we were divided into groups each group had to Come up with the video and then we would all have to film it together And then we at the end of the week, we would show it in the big screen nice set Skateboards flipping and that kind of stuff that's happening very quickly Ramon who is one of the members of my group? He came up with this idea of each of us telling or own Personal stories and how we ended up at YouTube next up. So it was actually a really like heartfelt make you cry kind of video and That we did we made people cry when we showed it so it was great. I love that I know you have the passion for it. And I had already decided when I heard you talking earlier that Your purpose is like I'm gonna offer it to help him and whatever he needs Spend all our time doing that We also had some workshops and stuff and we met with the creator mentors One of the mentors was Joanna who I'm a really big fan of for a long time So I was really excited that she was going to be one of the mentors and I actually had a one-on-one talk with her I also met another creator. Her name is Lola land and she actually helped me so much with the whole like analyzing the analytics and Thumbnail of the video and how to think about all these things It was really good meeting with her and the other mentors. So on Wednesday, we had this really fancy like dinner They had a bunch of Youtubers Latino youtubers and stuff like that. Yeah, it was really fancy and really cool and nice So on Thursday, there was this Latin music night with Becky G and Leroy Sanchez We actually got to see a very like intimate interview with And also Becky G posted a photo on her Instagram and my head is in it It might be lit up very small and very like in the shadows, but it's there then we got to Friday the last day We wanted to give back to our mentors because everything that they had done for us was just amazing So we wanted to make a little video for them and we got these like greeting or not greeting but thank-you cards For them we walked to the Ralph's to the grocery store to get like a thank-you card for all of our mentors This is not gonna be the one that we choose. This is the best one we've seen I really like it every single like little people person can be This one's me, this one's Melissa, this one's Sammy and then etc But yeah, this is the best one and we're probably gonna get it, but we'll keep looking I guess Even though it's like something small I thought that maybe they could appreciate it because we really we were really really thankful for them So the very last day day of the screening it was a very emotional day A lot of people had cried already including me Because I'm gonna miss you everybody My brothers and sisters at the same time But I'm gonna miss you but I'm gonna remember for the rest of my life So this is our very last week at NextUp and I'm really excited. Oh, no, it's the last day Last day and last week Because we're doing a secret video that we're going to show all of the mentors at the screening today I have no idea. I have no idea. I mean, hopefully yeah And we also wrote or we also got them. Thank you cards like you guys saw last night I still need to sign them. Oh you do? Oh, wait, where are they? They're in that room. There's like no room left on them Okay, let's go We're gonna miss all this, right? We were like, can we apply next year too? You can't. No, I don't think so during the screening. They first showed the other team's video, which was amazing I really loved it. And I thought we lost well, I'm giving it away When I saw it, I thought we had lost but then they showed our video and it was so emotional. Ramon was crying Stephanie who's one of our mentors. She was crying as well. I guess we touched people and we won So the winners will be going home with this amazing Google Home Mini It was very close With a score of 210 It is Chancla's And Then it was our graduation and we got graduation caps. They were red. We had some drinks and Yeah, it was really fun and emotional. Guys, this is the best program ever If you think you want to apply, you don't think you will. Like you have to apply for this Next year is the best thing that ever happened to our channels probably Absolutely. It's the best thing After that we all went to this like rooftop we ate and we drank Guys, I'm really sorry. My camera just died. All the things I learned that YouTube and this is what happens, right? Anyways, I was gonna say that this week was Pretty eye-opening for me. I was losing a bit of motivation just because whenever I upload a new video I have A good amount of people unsubscribe and I think it's because of that one Viral or a popular video that I have at the beginning of the year like in my brain this past few months I was like I said, I was losing a bit of motivation, but this definitely gave me all my motivation back I can't wait to work on my channel to bring better content more consistent and and not think about like the unsubscribing as much because it's better if people like that leave because it leaves space for people who actually want to See my content and my channel in my video. So I love this week. It was the best week ever I made so many good friends and connections and people that I will never forget people that now inspire me a lot I'm going to leave everybody's channel down below because They are all worth Subscribing to they are all worth checking out I'm still on this like high from that week, but tomorrow I go back to normal life I have class tomorrow. Can I just live at the YouTube space? Can I just can I work out the YouTube space like that would be the best? I feel like everybody is so happy there and so Easy going and chill and like they have the free coffee Honestly, I want to work at the YouTube space But yeah, thank you so much for watching this vlog I hope you guys Enjoyed it and I hope you guys could see how much I enjoyed this week It was honestly surreal if you guys have more than 10,000 subscribers, or you think you're gonna get there soon for maybe next year I recommend that you apply for it.
