Hey guys, and welcome to my 14 week bump date.
I'm actually almost 15 weeks at this point.
I get a little sidetracked with this pregnancy
and I forget that like, oh my gosh,
I have bump dates to make.
And it's kind of weird,
but I really love making these bump dates
because I still go back and I watch
Ollie and Finn's bump dates,
and I'm always like, oh my gosh,
I kind of laugh at myself.
I kind of get embarrassed by myself.
I'm probably gonna look back at these videos
and be like, oh my gosh, Missy, be quiet.
But so much to talk about this week.
I'm having a girl, you guys.
I was convinced it was probably a boy.
I just seem to produce a lot of boys,
or should I say Brian produces a lot of boys.
And the reason I say that is because
I have had two other pregnancies
and they both were boys.
And so then I had Ollie and Finn who are boys.
So I was just like, at this point I was like,
obviously I am destined to have boys,
which I love my boys.
They are literally the best thing in the whole world.
And so I wasn't gonna be disappointed,
but the fact that I got a girl was,
I mean, I have always wanted a girl.
I am so, so excited to have a girl.
I'm so excited to watch Brian have a little girl.
I'm so excited to see my dad
with the first granddaughter of the family.
I'm excited just for every,
I'm excited for my boys to have a little sister.
I have these two big boys
who are just gonna be protectors and love her.
And they already said they're gonna call her sissy.
I was literally crying when they said that.
It's very exciting and I'm very, very excited.
And we're pretty close to a name.
It's funny too, because with the boys,
we never really had boy names picked out,
especially early on.
And then for a while,
it took us a long time to settle in on a name.
But we've already had an idea
of what we want the girl's name to be.
And so it's really exciting.
We're definitely thinking hard
and second guessing it a couple times,
just making sure that we're really, really sure on it.
Because one of the names we love
is a name we've had since literally high school.
So I'm so excited to finally kind of get
a little bit more sure on the names
that we can actually announce it and stuff.
Okay, so this week the baby is the size of a Hubba Bubba Gum.
Actually, I have the What to Expect app
and I have it on the 80s, 90s nostalgia.
And it's so cute.
And so every week it gives me a new thing
that's like from the 90s.
The Hubba Bubba Gum this week.
Or the size of an orange, which is pretty cool too.
I think also the size of a baseball.
So baby is getting big.
And I believe in the next few days when I'm 15 weeks,
the baby is the size of a cootie catcher.
Do you guys remember those little cootie catchers
that we used to play with in school?
Oh my gosh, I'm pretty excited about all that.
Okay, so let's talk about where I left off
on my 12 week bunk date.
I told you guys that I had started spotting,
which was very scary.
Of course I knew baby was okay
because I had checked the heartbeat
and the heartbeat was still there.
So I was really, really reassured by that.
But we actually headed out on a trip to Utah
to see our friends Ellie and Jared.
And during that time I was still spotting.
I spotted continuously from like Thursday
to the following Thursday.
So for a full week, I spotted.
My midwife was slightly concerned,
but also really reassuring that it can be literally nothing.
But if it continues, we may need to like
really check into it.
For me, that wasn't really enough.
So I did end up booking an appointment with an OBGYN,
which I was planning to kind of avoid OBs
for this pregnancy if possible,
just because I didn't really feel like it was necessary.
But once I started spotting,
I was like, I probably should get in.
Unfortunately, that appointment was literally pointless
and useless.
She did do an ultrasound, which was exciting.
Saw the baby, but I was like,
can you figure out why I'm spotting?
And she was like, oh, I have no idea.
You're still in the first trimester, no worries.
Which I mean, I was like 12 weeks pregnant,
but I'm getting close to the end of the first trimester.
I've never spotted before.
So it was just very strange, but she had zero answers.
She had zero helpful ideas.
She just said, it's probably nothing.
If it is something serious, we'll find out later.
Luckily, the spotting did end up stopping,
which was really nice.
And I have not spotted since.
So as far as I'm concerned,
it probably was just a super like weird random fluke
that had no effect on the baby and was hopefully nothing.
But we don't really have any other answers other than that.
But I am officially out of the first trimester.
So I can definitely tell that my nausea
is definitely going away.
And although I did throw up my breakfast yesterday,
I literally, I ate and then I just got up
and then I threw it all up.
I was like, what the heck?
I wasn't even nauseous.
And then all of a sudden I just threw up.
I think this was pretty typical for me.
Cause when I watched my 14 week bump date with Finn,
basically said the exact same thing.
My nausea is pretty much gone, but I threw up the other day.
So I think it's kind of typical.
Hopefully in the next like week or so,
I should be like rid of all the nausea.
And I'm definitely can tell that my energy
is a little bit more back.
I was having to like take a nap sometimes,
like a full nap every day, but I'm feeling a lot better.
Although by the end of the day, I'm like, good night.
I need to go to bed.
I have a headache, like leave me alone.
I'm going to sleep.
But yeah, I'm sleeping good still, which is exciting.
I know there's a point in pregnancy
where it's just hard to get that sleep.
It's hard to get comfortable.
And luckily right now, all is still good.
Pop in and say hi, come here.
Say hi.
Karma was sitting here next to me,
but he's getting all excited.
I think he's pretty sure the boys are doing something.
Another exciting thing that happened this week
is I finally met with my midwife.
So I've officially had my first prenatal appointment.
I did spend some time interviewing some different midwives
and it was so hard to like pick one
cause they were all so sweet and so nice.
And I just wanted to make like the right decision.
But I feel really good about the one I chose.
She's so sweet.
And she actually works at an ultrasound like,
well she works inside of the ultrasound like place
so I can go in and like get cute pictures
of the baby if I want.
But she's super cool.
She actually informed me of a lot of stuff
that I don't think I've ever really focused on
in my past pregnancies,
but I do really want to focus on it.
One of them was that she was like,
so you need to be eating 80 to 100 grams of protein a day.
And I was like, what?
So I'm really, really trying to be smart
about my protein intake and make sure I'm getting enough
because I do love protein, but I don't think I'd get 80.
I don't think I'd get 80 grams a day.
So really focusing on that.
She also was like, make sure you're drinking a lot of water
which I do drink a lot of water.
I have my water bottle that I fill up constantly
throughout the day.
But then when she told me like 70 to 80 ounces,
I was like, gosh, do I drink 70 to 80 ounces?
I'm not sure.
So really trying to focus on, you know,
what I'm putting in my body,
making sure I'm getting enough protein, enough water.
And yeah, it was really, really nice to meet with her.
She actually spent a full hour just talking to me,
making sure I had no questions, informing me of things.
It was just so nice.
It was actually just such a huge difference
between that appointment I had with my OBGYN
and having one with her as a midwife.
She like seriously cared and she like took the time
and she spent the full hour talking to me
and talking to the baby and just being like,
it was just a very, very cool experience.
I've never really experienced that with past OBGYNs
and I have always had trouble with my OBGYNs,
just constantly being not super satisfied
and then changing and then,
and it's always just been this struggle.
And so that's why with my past pregnancies,
I've even given birth an hour away
because I was like, well, San Diego has a couple
that I really like,
but was determined not to go to San Diego.
Found a really awesome midwife and I'm super, super happy.
But anyways, I think that's pretty much it
for updates on my bump.
Actually, in fact, I am getting a little bit of a bump.
Maybe next week, I'll actually show you guys my bump,
but I think it's actually getting cute
and like, I think I'm starting to show.
I was looking back when I was pregnant with Finn too
and I was like, oh my gosh, that's kind of similar.
I can see that they're different.
They're definitely different bumps.
Like, Ollie and Finn's bump were very similar
and this one feels very different.
I don't know if it's because of my age,
because it's been six years,
because it's a girl and not a boy, I'm not really sure,
but definitely excited to show it off
once it actually is there.
But anyways, I hope you guys are excited for our little girl.
Make sure you give this video a big thumbs up.
If you missed the gender reveal, go watch it
because it's so cute, it's so fun.
I've watched it so many times
because I just, I love that burst and that reaction.
It's just so much fun.
But anyways, go check it out if you haven't seen it
and I'll see you guys in our next video.
Bye!
