If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on now, because there's too many places I got to see.
If I stay here with you girl, things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now. I'm this bird you cannot change.
I'm this bird you cannot change. I'm this bird you cannot change.
Welcome to the Bow Show, the home of faith, family, and freedom. Well, it's official.
And after much ado, Elon Musk has finally purchased Twitter. So as he said on his Twitter
account, the bird is freed. Now you know why my pumpkin behind me has the Twitter bird carved
into it. This has been much anticipated and may finally bring this purchase saga to a close.
Now for Twitter employees, it must be an anxious time. Musk's first moves have been to fire CEO
Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Siegel, top legal policy executive Vijaya Gaddy, and general counsel
Sean Edgett. At least one of those executives was escorted out Twitter's San Francisco headquarters.
Musk had bought after initially offering to buy Twitter for $44 billion as the company was not at
all transparent in sharing how many accounts were bots. Musk shared a video of his grand entrance
into headquarters, carrying a kitchen sink. He also met with workers and had some impromptu
conversations. An employee who spoke anonymously shared what it was like in the company just a day
before Musk's official purchase. And I want to read some of it just so you get an inside look
at how the company works inside since it is shrouded in mystery and non-transparency.
The insider said that Musk is obsessed with puns, which is why they think Musk came in with a sink
as in let that sink in. I kind of took a little differently like the old idiom, throwing everything
and the kitchen sink, a sort of redundancy. There's a new sheriff in town, but just the fact
that this anonymous employee said he's obsessed with puns makes me think this person does not
have a glowing opinion of Elon Musk. The insider claims that many who were not nervous about their
jobs previously now are concerned after hearing that Musk plans to lay off 75% of the staff.
The person also says that he or she is not worried about their own job as they scored high on a
performance review. But I think that person is naive and thinking that merely a good performance
review would factor into Musk's decision. Remember that he is trying to make Twitter better
and function. How free speech is intended to be. It may very well be that many Twitter employees
do their jobs well, but the problems and biases are systemic. It's a culture thing.
The insider talks about Musk's volatility and employees who are worried about that.
They should be. But if they had been acting in a professionally responsible way, maybe they
wouldn't be so nervous. You know, think back to the censoring of the New York Post's Hunter Biden
laptop story. Think of how that changed people's votes and basically rigged it for Joe Biden.
Think about all of their content moderation at Twitter. Think about them banning Donald Trump,
all because they didn't like him, not because he did anything wrong.
That's the kind of thing why employees should be worried. And let's consider one of the first big
firings, Vijaya Gaddy. She is responsible for kicking Trump off of Twitter. She told Bloomberg,
quote, No matter what we do, we've been accused of bias, unquote. Well, if you mean the left wing
bias, then yes. You know, I don't recall Twitter doing anything that could be remotely considered
pro conservative or right wing. Gaddy wrote the following in a 2015 op ed and the Washington
compost quote, I'm often inspired by the vigorous debates on controversial issues that occur on
Twitter, but I've also been seriously troubled by the plight of some of our users who are
completely overwhelmed by those who are trying to silence healthy discourse in the name of free
expression. At times, this takes the form of hateful speech and tweets directed at women
or minority groups. At others, it takes the form of threats aimed to intimidate those who take a
stand on issues. Unquote. Now that's left speak. Here's why. If Gaddy truly believed in healthy
discourse, her team wouldn't moderate content related to COVID or the vaccine. They created AI
to be able to moderate anything that went against WHO and CDC guidelines. Mind you, much of this
guidance was unscientific or in some cases flat out false. When it came to the 2020 election,
we have now seen evidence, hard evidence of election felonies on a mass scale, but Twitter
was insistent upon removing any mention of possible fraud. So to Gaddy and to many on the
left, free speech and healthy discourse are only their version of it. It's speech that they like.
Now that so many governments have revised their vaccine policies, if not downright rejected any
mandates and issued warnings, Twitter still tries to moderate those warnings. How can you have a
healthy discourse? If users cannot raise questions about health, think about it. They'd permit users
posting videos of themselves eating Tide pods, but you can't question Anthony Fauci. They permit the
Ayatollah of Iran who commits genocide and says death to America. They leave him on the platform,
but they ban Donald Trump. You see how they're speaking out of both sides of their mouth.
So Vijaya Gaddy presided over what many would consider to be more left-wing echo chamber than
digital town hall. And according to Twitter employees, Gaddy cried in a company-wide phone
call after it was announced that Elon Musk would be purchasing Twitter. Many conservatives accounts
were suspended or deleted in the past. It actually happened to me. One day, my verified blue check
mark handle was gone. And some other Bo Davidson had taken my username over people like Gaddy have
been arbiters of what stays and what goes, but rather than using a transparent way of monitoring
speech, they do it in a very secretive yet biased way. They silenced Kanye West recently, and it just
seems like so much of their content moderation has a certain slant to it. We talk about corporate
culture. I think this is a great example of that. The problem is that Facebook, Instagram, and
Twitter, and even Google all act as one collective unit. When it comes to speech, you can't tell them
apart. Instagram is actually getting as bad as Twitter. If not worse, you can't say the word
that rhymes with Maxine or they flag it. So what will Musk do? Well, we have seen him fire four
top execs right away. Bam, huge kudos for that. He also had Tesla engineers come in and review
Twitter code to assess it and lock out Twitter's engineers from making any changes to the current
code base to ensure nothing about the product changes before the acquisition is fully confirmed.
That was pretty smart. Sources believe that Musk will remove Twitter's permanent blacklisting
as he does not believe in lifelong bands. This might suggest a reinstatement of Donald Trump's
account should he choose to go back on. However, word is that Trump might just stay on truth social
to help build up that new platform. But someone's account that has been restored is Kanye West,
who got put in Twitter jail for antisemitic tweets, which he later clarified. Now,
Musk says that the reinstatement happened before his takeover last week and without his consultation.
Musk claims that he wants to save humanity. And if you look at his track record over time with his
businesses by electric car company Tesla, the innovative space exploration company SpaceX,
and the boring company, he has a history of improving the plight of humanity. But can he
make a supposedly free speech platform actually a bedrock of free speech? Well, if he can,
then yes, he is saving humanity. He wants Twitter to be a common digital town square,
and that's exactly what it should be. He wants to quintuple Twitter's revenue by 2028,
supercharge its subscription business, and turn Twitter into a super app called X.
And if history is any barometer, Musk will do exactly as he says he will. He's proven it
time and time again. Musk has called himself a free speech absolutist. However, to allay the fears
of the easily triggered safe space crowd, Musk said that Twitter cannot become a free for all
hellscape where anything can be said without consequences. I think that Musk has the right
vision for the company, and it has taken his independent wealth and means to be able to buy
this company to change it for the better. Similarly, Trump was able to gain the presidency
by using his own independent wealth to fund his campaign so that he wouldn't be beholden
to any special interests and lobbyists. Most politicians in Washington, D.C. are bought off.
So when you get an independently wealthy individual, they're not pulled by puppet strings.
And let's look at Tesla and SpaceX. Are these right wing neo Nazi companies? No,
they are forward thinking. So this notion that Musk is somehow a fascist that wants to make
Twitter hateful again is a silly notion. It's only triggering for the liberal wokies who have
been inculcated in their little lib sphere for so long without any oversight. To be honest,
employees should embrace this purchase. Musk has turned bankrupt companies into visionary pioneers.
He's pushed the boundaries of technology. He's put satellites over Ukraine so that the people
can get Internet. Why are people so afraid? Do they not see that he really is helping humanity
or does fear come because he has had an ideological pivot? Is it that he has seen
the wokeness of California and decided to pack up? Are they worried that he will give Donald
Trump a voice again? Are they worried that their platform won't be able to silence real news like
the Hunter Biden laptop story? Are they worried that they're non-transparent methods of boosting
some accounts and shadow banning others will be long gone? Musk has every right as its new owner
to turn Twitter into his vision, but I guarantee you he will do it in an innovative way. Musk
overpaid for Twitter, but did it matter to him? Not really because he has a vision.
44 billion is a lot to you and me, but not as much to him. He can see the future valuation.
He knows how to turn failure into success. And who are we as a society? If we have no free speech,
he is setting the paradigm. People in China, North Korea, Cuba, and even Canada do not have
free speech. Elon wants to set the bar. He wants to spread democracy. And the way that you do that
is by inviting more speech, not kicking people off. I still am waiting to hear from Twitter's
moderators for an explanation on why they keep Ayatollah Khomeini on there, but kick off
Russians and Trump. What I truly hope is that Musk unveils Twitter. I want to see the underbelly.
I want to know how they did what they did. We know why, but I want to see how there are
embedded algorithms. There is AI that reduces reach and virility. Some of the most vile things
you've ever heard in your life have come from the hell pit of Twitter. Billy Eichner called people
who don't go to see his film homophobes. Jamie Lee Curtis said that she hopes Kanye's kids are
taken away from him for good. Is that hate speech? Should that be moderated? I remember reporting
a particular hate speech account when I used to be on Twitter that harassed me many, many times
and nothing was ever done. The account even posted copyrighted images of me without permission.
So it was an intellectual property situation and still Twitter's moderators, their safety team did
nothing. Now, I hope Musk changes the entire system and culture there. It's time to become
innovative. Frankly, I think what Musk is doing at Twitter is what should be done at every major
government agency. They need to clean house. Trump tried to drain the swamp and so is Musk.
You know, if you don't get rid of your Peter Strokes and James Comey's, you're not going to
see anything change who out there wouldn't want Elon Musk running their company. He's got a track
record and all the little CNN and New York times and Washington post readers are trembling in their
boots and he might hurt their feelings. Another account that is likely to be restored from
Twitter jail is James O'Keefe of project Veritas, the group of undercover journalists that have
exposed a ton of liberal media, but also some conservatives as well. Veritas provided perhaps
the only true glimpse into the inner workings of Twitter. Without them, it's mere guesswork.
Let's look at some of their greatest hits when it comes to Twitter.
It is a much more severe violation. Um, given what we're seeing on the ground,
we're going to actually, um, be more aggressive in our enforcement beyond
the amplification. Let's say it was a pro-Trump thing and I am anti-Trump. I was like, oh,
I just, I batted this whole account. They'll go to you and then it's at your discretion.
One strategy is to shadow ban so that you have ultimate control.
The idea of a shadow ban is that you ban someone, but they don't know they've been banned.
Well, right now we don't make profits, so it's going to say ideology,
which is what's led us into not being profitable.
So we weren't really operating in a capitalist mode. We weren't very socialist, but we're all
like communist. I'm an engineer in the messaging thing. Maybe I could hack into her. Like,
I don't know. All your sex messages and your, like, dick pics are on my server now. All your
illegitimate wives and like all the girls you've been f***ing around with, they're on my server now.
You know, we are focused on one account right now, but this is going to be much bigger
than just one account. And it's going to go on for much longer than just this day.
I don't believe this is going away anytime soon.
Targeting of tweets. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You can read it. Let me see.
How to protect yourself. Groups like Project Veritas are active right now.
Like some group that's trying to just out the employees. Like they're trying to
go on dates with them like this and record them and then go sell it to the New York Times and
you're lucky that you met me organically because I would be questioning everything about you.
In that video, you see Vijaya Gaddy, the now terminated head of Twitter's content moderation
team. You also see employees talking about blatant shadow banning where they can completely wipe out
your interactions with other people. This is how we know that there is severe bias
and code writing that silences some and promotes others. Remember that all social media platforms
hide behind the protection of section two 30 of us code, which gives them permission to moderate
content as they see fit by this structure. They can create their own terms of service
and hide their reasons for doing things in secrecy. The problem with that is that when you
have platforms as ubiquitous and powerful and worldwide as Twitter, which people may use solely
to get their information, how, when, and if information gets to people becomes dubious.
And of course the quashing of the Hunter Biden laptop story is critical because we know that it
changed votes. It's been proven that would amount to election interference. So isn't it ironic
that those on the left who have done their best to silence anyone who questions election integrity
are the very ones guilty of it. If users cannot ask questions and come to a forum for debate or
to press their representatives for answers in a very direct way, that's not a democracy. So Twitter
has a much, much, much bigger role than they have let on. What Musk is aiming to do is to create
that proper digital forum. And just this week, as soon as he walked in with the kitchen sink,
Joe Biden had his first fact check on the platform on October 28th with Musk now in control. Biden
wrote from his POTUS account. Let me give you the facts in 2020 55 corporations made 40 billion
and they paid zero in federal taxes. My inflation reduction act puts an end to this. Now below that
tweet, look at this. You will now see a disclaimer with additional context. Readers might want to
know it links to articles demonstrating that of the 55 companies that Biden's plan mentions in
this tweet that would be taxed. Only 14 are actually eligible under the plan. So this is the
first fact check Twitter has put on Biden perhaps ever. Is this coincidental that it happened on
Musk's first day? Well, it seems like it, but it could mean an end to the limitless tweets he can
put out without repercussion. Users may now realize, oh, hey, Biden is saying that these are facts
when I can read right here that this is not factual. See, no one in the media really does that.
What's even funnier about this fact check on Biden is that the source is the Washington post.
These are the kinds of changes you want to see when it comes to balance. No president or official
should be immune to fact checking. No officials son should be hands off days before an election.
If he has committed crimes and the story is verifiable, which it was shortly before Musk
took ownership Thursday night, Twitter slapped an unsafe warning on a just the news report about a
former democratic candidates sworn affidavit alleging years of illegal ballot harvesting
in politically important central Florida, which prompted a state criminal probe.
The warning tells readers the misleading content could lead to real world harm.
Twitter put that same warning on a just the news report about the legal distinctions between
fully approved and emergency use COVID-19 vaccines last year. It also suspended a just the news
journalist, John Solomon for sharing that vaccine report and a subsequent report about a peer
reviewed study of COVID vaccines. As a result of this throttling, Musk tweeted this. I will look
into this. Twitter should be even handed favoring neither side. It's awesome to see the brand new
head of Twitter responding, acting, and commenting that it should not show favoritism. That has not
happened since Twitter's inception. And this happened the Thursday just before Musk's purchase
was finalized. Now was this some committed leftist trying to have one final hurrah before Musk's
takeover and a mere 10 days before midterms? We don't know, but we do know that Musk has spotted
it and is looking into it. These are the kinds of things that must change. Throttling a legitimate
report about ballot harvesting that triggered a criminal probe is a serious action. It has a
chilling effect and it also prevents readers from getting vital information. It is a protection
measure for Democrats who are working in tandem with journalists to go full tilt with this Paul
Pelosi break-in story. And that's a conversation for a whole other episode. But Musk is changing
the culture at Twitter and its pursuit of fairness and the potential of the platform.
I hope that he will reveal how Twitter operated prior to his purchase and unveil the years of
mystery and blatant bias. For now, keep that bird free, Elon. I'm Beau, and that's the show.
