Darcey Lynn Farmer captured the hearts of Americans with her performances on America's Got Talent last year.
So what has the 13-year-old ventriloquist been doing since she won the show?
Well, the first thing Darcey did after being crowned the winner of America's Got Talent was cry.
As she described to USA Today, after the show, it was waterworks right here on this face.
It was like a water faucet.
Darcey had a hard time keeping it together when she was standing next to her friend, singer and runner-up, Angelica Hale,
because her feelings had been all bottled up inside, and it just all came out.
One of the moments she remembers about winning, was when her family ran on stage to embrace her after winning.
Her little brother had tears in his eyes.
She explained that she was really, really happy because my little brother cried and he's never cried before.
She said,
and it made me laugh too, because I'm like, you're crying.
Darcey Lynn kept busy after the show by going to school,
and shortly after the live show Darcey appeared on Entertainment Tonight,
and she was asked about some of her big splurges.
I have to get my mom a dishwasher, and maybe get a fridge along with it, Darcey said.
I want a pug so bad, because I love puppies and it's been a long time since I had a puppy.
They have wrinkles and fat rolls and they're so cute.
More on if Darcey gets her pug, or if her mom gets her dishwasher and fridge later in the video.
Darcey also graced the Ellen Show on September 22 with her adorable puppet, Petunia.
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres congratulated Darcey and praised her for her impressive talent.
She was also asked to perform live in front of the audience,
and the 12-year-old Oklahoma native relived her audition piece.
Darcey Lynn celebrated her 13th birthday on October 12,
and on October 15 she sang the National Anthem at the OKC Energy FC soccer match.
Darcey's performance of the National Anthem was the first time many America's Got Talent fans
saw Darcey Lynn singing without a puppet on her arm.
For Halloween, Darcey teamed up with fellow ventriloquist Jeff Dunham for a fun video.
Darcey and her friends, Petunia, Oscar, and Edna,
stopped by the haunted house on Dunham Hill to trick-or-treat.
The video was released on Dunham's YouTube channel if you would like to see it in full.
Next for Darcey was headlining a live show in Las Vegas.
Joining Darcey on stage at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino were the season 12 runner-up,
Angelica Hale, as well as two of the top ten contenders,
neon dance group Light Balance and comedian Preacher Lawson.
Originally, the show was slated for a three-night run starting Thursday, November 2 and ending
Saturday, November 4.
Ticket sales were so impressive that a fourth night was soon added on Sunday, November 5.
Darcey Lynn and her puppet Petunia also joined acapella group Pentatonix on their holiday special,
A Very Pentatonix Christmas.
Darcey and Petunia perform a new holiday song called O Easter Egg, sung to the tune of O Christmas Tree.
When Pentatonix group members try to correct Petunia's version of the song, she declares,
Darcey then declares,
A Very Pentatonix Christmas aired on NBC on November 27.
On November 28, Darcey announced her first national solo tour, Darcey and Friends.
At the time, the tour featured 17 stops between January and May of 2018.
All of the tour dates are on the weekend to prevent interfering with school.
On December 4, Darcey Lynn made her Madison Square Garden debut with One Night with the Stars.
Before the show, she took some time to spend with her mom and brother sightseeing in New York.
For the show, Darcey and Petunia had an exchange about performing Italian opera for the show.
I thought it would be nice to do some Italian opera, she told the crowd.
I'm only 13 years old. I don't know anything about opera. Besides, I don't speak Italian.
Petunia turned to her and then jokingly said, Sure you do.
Haven't you ever been to Olive Garden?
The proceeds from the show went to celebrity hairstylist, Martino Cartier's foundation, Wigs & Wishes,
which provides wigs and wishes to women and children suffering from cancer.
Darcey performed her homecoming show at the Criterion in Oklahoma City on December 16.
Tickets to the December 16 performance sold out in just six minutes and the venue promptly added two additional shows
for New Year's Eve. Darcey performed with singer Fergie for nearly 3,000 guests during an exclusive private engagement at Caesars Palace.
Darcey kicked off the New Year's Eve celebration by singing,
O mio babbino caro, and hit the road jack with her puppet, Petunia.
Singer Fergie took the stage later that night and opened with her hit song, You Already Know.
Darcey stopped by The Today Show on Monday, January 15 with her puppet, Oscar.
The young ventriloquist performed a duet with Oscar of, Who's Loving You?
Hosts Hoda and Kathie Lee were left almost speechless by Darcey and Oscar's performance.
Darcey and Oscar introduced their version of this tune on the quarterfinal of America's Got Talent this past summer.
Darcey says her life has been nonstop since she won the show last September.
Darcey was also named Citizen of the Year by the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce.
Citizen of the Year is the highest award that the Edmond Chamber gives out.
It has been won by many of the town's most notable people who contribute much to their community and beyond.
Darcey will receive the award on January 26 at the group's annual banquet.
Darcey may have established her status as a hometown hero, but that's only the tip of the iceberg.
She recently signed with United Talent Agency and there are already plans for a television series,
In a recent interview with Parade magazine, Darcey was asked,
It has been three months since you won. How does it feel these days?
It still feels unreal, but at the same time, just like the most awesome time of my life.
So getting back to if Darcey ever got her pug, or did her mom get her new dishwasher?
They are still working on the pug, and most likely will consider it once things slow down a bit.
Darcey recently made the following announcement at one of her shows regarding the dishwasher.
Hey, wait, I want you to stay on stage for a second.
My friends at GE Appliances have agreed to give you a full kitchen's worth of new appliances,
and a new washer and dryer.
How cool is that, y'all?
Man, give it up for my awesome mom!
Congratulations on all your success, Darcey, and we look forward to seeing you at the live shows.
