This is a photo compilation of two North Park Toyland parades (Dec. 3, 2011 and Dec. 2, 2017) on University Avenue.

Noteworthy in the 2017 parade was the entry of a refurbished coach of the old San Diego trolley. It was made of oak and used to go down University Avenue in its glorious days during the 1900s. I talked to the Trolley team; they said they had located all of the coaches and were hoping to have the old trolley reinstated as a historic icon and tourist attraction in the area. I've attached an historic video below.

Sound track: street music performed by Josué Gascot in Balboa Park on Dec. 21 and 22, 2022. He can be reached on Instagram @gascotviolins.

The Toyland Parade, presented by the North Park Lions Club, has been a beloved tradition dating back to 1963. It sadly ended after the Dec. 8, 2019 parade, but hopefully will be started up again in the future.

The history of the Toyland Parade was documented by CBS 8 in a 1986 program entitled "Profile on San Diego neighborhood North Park 1986"

Another very interesting historic documentary, "Reflections of North Park,” documents the beginnings of North Park during the 1900s and includes interviews and photos of the old trolley.
