I Am Jazz is slated to return soon, a thrilling piece of news for fans of the hit TLC show. This new season will feature Jazz Jennings dealing with surgery complications, and a difficult relationship and its resulting drama.

However, in something of a blast from the past, a doctor who appeared on I Am Jazz has been fired and disgraced after wildly inappropriate behavior both on Instagram and in real life. Dr. Christopher John Salgado has made a variety of poor choices leading up to his removal from his network. Here’s what went down.

Dr. Christopher John Salgado briefly appeared on I Am Jazz to offer some guidance for Jazz Jennings as she prepared for surgery. Jennings did not choose Salgado, thankfully.

As well as facing allegations of frequent complications and a lack of care when it comes to complication inquiries, the disgraced doctor is facing accusations of sеxual harassment.

As reported by Trans Advocate, “Mx. Jacobs was speaking with Salgado who, upon learning that she was transfeminine and had undergone breast augmentation, suggested she unbutton her shirt to make her breasts more visible.”

The report continues, “Jacobs clarified to him that she identified as genderqueer and wasn’t comfortable with presenting in this way, preferring an aesthetic of “female masculinity”. In response, Salgado questioned the veracity of genderqueer people and insisted that, as a transgender woman, she should dress in an openly sexual manner. He continued to pressure her to unbutton her shirt, followed her when she moved to avoid him, and invaded her space repeatedly.”

Jacobs eventually had to demand that she be left alone, and reported Salgado to the relevant board. Unfortunately, this behavior seems to be the tip of the iceberg with Salgado.

Awful Instagram posts

Salgado most notably ran an Instagram, now deleted, titles @sexsurgeon. Salgado’s posts were, to say the least, troubling. He frequently posted graphic images of his patients’ genitalia, and often coupled these photos with troubling captions and hashtags.

He also had a penchant for speculating about his patients’ romantic lives, and would discuss their success finding sexual partners post-surgery.

In one disturbing instance, Salgado rearranged a patients’ removed pеnis into the shape of a heart, and captioned it, “There are many ways to show your LOVE.” Hashtags included “#whatisthat” and “#whatthef*ck.”

Another image featured a man’s reconstructed jaw, which he hashtagged “#eatingp*ssy.” In yet another shameful post, Salgado featured a process for penilе enhancement, and tagged it “#bigfatd*ck” and “#asianc*ck.”

Many of Salgado’s hashtags were very sexual in nature, and wildly unprofessional. Eventually, reports came flooding in about his Instagram. The University of Miami Health System informed Trans Advocate, “The University of Miami does not comment on the detailed status of employees. However, we can confirm that Dr. Christopher Salgado is no longer employed by the University of Miami. We continue to have a team of experts providing the full continuum of care for gender reassignment patients.”

The health system also stated, “The University of Miami is committed to promoting and supporting diversity in its students, faculty, and staff and finds any transphobic comments unacceptable.”
