So today we're going to play the Aussie slang challenge where I give you two
a popular or a common piece of Australian slang and you have to guess what it is.
Okay let's play.
Fairy bread.
I think money just because like bread and dough and all of that and then fairy bread is like
special I don't know what you reckon.
That's that's a good guess I mean I don't know I was gonna say like
I don't know what fairies eat maybe seeds or something maybe that's like bread to fairies
I don't know.
Why would they be a slang?
Really good answer.
It is a iconic Australian cuisine and delicacy with butter on white bread.
Okay can I just let you know that that is not slang that is a thing that we didn't know about.
I think yeah that's not slang at all that's a cuisine item.
Okay surely it's like I mean yeah anger or something right like like you're foaming at
mouth you're angry.
Yeah but I think it might be like oh I'm frothing for a coffee right now do you know what I mean
like I am for a coffee do you know what I mean?
Thirsty yeah thirsty also works I'll go with angry you go with thirsty.
Yeah yeah okay cool so yeah I'd say like eager or desperate for something desperate.
Yeah it means you're you're excited about it you're like your mouth is it's oh I'm
frothing over that thing.
It's kind of nasty.
It's still unhygienic.
Yeah I think I think you take that one.
Uh thongs.
A type of underwear.
Definitely sandals.
Flip-flops.
They're flip-flops.
So I guess sandals is yeah I'm gonna give that to you.
My dad calls them thongs.
Bikki.
Just you know like a chocky bikki.
I was gonna say like a pencil like uh you know.
Sorry I missed it he's correct.
Sunnies.
Oh that's easy.
I think it's sunglasses.
Stubby holder.
Ashtray maybe.
I'll go with uh men's underwear.
Oh great great guesses.
It's the beer holder the little foam sort of poly that you put around.
Who is it?
I need to keep it colder.
Yeah it's just like you bring it to the beach or like the pool or a boat.
I mean we don't have too many of these here in London so um.
You don't need it if you drink fast enough.
Trackie dads.
Track pants.
Yeah trackies.
Yeah drop bear.
It's a koala.
I think so too.
It is a special type of koala.
It is a predatory carnivorous koala that uh drops on a lot of the time tourists when they're
going through the bush and they bite and they so there's something you have to like um be
careful about.
That it's fake.
No it's no it's a it's sort of like it's this thing that we've all collectively as a society
agreed to sort of tell anyone who's not from Australia.
I don't know where it came from and I don't know why it continues but it's like you can't
it's like this oath we've all sort of sworn.
Mozzie.
Mosquito.
That's a good guess.
I feel like that's.
I mean we call mosquitoes mozzies over here.
I think there's this I've got an advantage over you on this one I think just being from
from London.
Yeah.
Look we're all Colin okay.
We get it.
Yep.
It was mosquito.
Yep.
And that was the Aussie slang challenge.
