Hey, what's up guys?
Welcome to the first combination of the beginner section.
So one thing about the beginner section combos when we start these social dancing moves,
make sure to watch all of the videos prior to this video because if you just jump in straight
into this video, just wanting combinations, you're going to feel overwhelmed and you're
going to be like, wait a minute, this is not beginner. The way we laid out this course,
we cover like the main turns and the most common moves in salsa and a lot of technique and
to help you get to this level of what we're going to be teaching and be able to do it right away.
Yeah. And we also did a bunch of practice combinations and little things, little exercises,
like he said, to build it up to this point. So yeah, if you're just jumping in and you've never
danced before, it's going to be crazy, crazy, crazy feeling. But like we said, if you've done
the course and studied it, you know, in order, you should feel, they should still challenge you,
but you'll be able to do it. Yeah. These are combinations will be fun. They're like pretty
smooth. The way we lay them out is like something that flows really good into each other. It's not
going to be like just like one piece that's cool. And then the rest is kind of like fluffier,
just like whatever. So hopefully you guys enjoy these moves. It's nice, smooth combos. Again,
beginner starting off and then later in the intermediate section, it'll get a lot trickier,
but we still kind of create that smooth feel. What we do in the beginning, you'll see like
the demo for the music and you'll see it at normal speed, even though in intermediate and
beginner, when we do the demo practicing with you guys, we slow down the tempo, the music.
So you guys can actually do it with us. And it's like really manageable because you're actually
still learning it with us. But once the, once the video is done, pop in a song and do it at
normal speed. So you can get like a feel for it at normal speed. So you do it slow with us and then
normal speed at yourself or with yourselves, or you can just put the video again and do it with
us in the very beginning while we're doing the demo. So it's just at normal speed for the song.
Yes, yes. So let's begin again. Feel free to rewind if you have to again.
My English is not very good looking guys. Dominican is not good. Spanish, number one,
no problem. So here we go. Let's begin from the basic step. Leaders with the left, followers with
the right. Basic step first in hand to hand position. We basic slowly. We go one, two,
three, and five, six, seven. From here we're going to go into a hammerlock turn. I'm going to go one,
two, three. My left hand is up, my right hand is down. Ladies right turn. We go five, six, seven.
Yeah. So we end up in this position here. Guys in that five, six, seven, I'm going to be getting out
of her way. I'm going to be stepping one, two, three, five, six, seven. Yeah. So she's in her lane and I'm
in mine. Slowly again. We basic one, two, three, five, six, seven. One, two, three, five, six, seven.
Yeah. So I'm out of her way. Here we go. So from the open break, I'm out of her way.
I'm going to be going, watch it once. One, two, three, five, six, seven. Yeah. So again,
what am I doing here? I'm just, guys, I'm stepping one, two, three, five, six, seven. Just pay attention
for the guys for now. We'll go over the ladies right now. Again, I'm going left foot, right foot,
left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot. Yeah. For the ladies. Okay. So ladies, it should be pretty
simple. We just basic one, two, and he's going to start rotating his way three. Yes. And we're going
to keep rotating the same direction for five, six, seven. And he's going to be right next to us.
And we basic. Actually, we're going to do a, and one, an accent. Let's try it again. So one, two,
start your rotation on three, finish rotating for five, keep going six, keep going seven. Yeah. So
we started facing this way and we're going to end the opposite direction. Yeah. So it's like a
turn and a half. Last time we'll do the guy. One, two, start rotating and rotate, rotate, finish,
and basic. Pause right there. If you need to go over the guy part or the girl part before continuing
on. If you got it, let's go. So we were here from that hammer lock turn. We do the open break for
the gentlemen going back on the left. Same thing, ladies going back on your right. You go one, two,
three, right on this three. I'm already starting to turn her here. Yeah. So again, we're here one,
two, three. From here, guys, I keep turning. The right hand is going to stay connected to this
hand. I'm never letting go as this one keeps doing the turn for five, six, seven. So nothing. Let's
go at any point. Yeah. Watch it once from the position that the ladies were practicing. I'm
staying in my lane. I'm just walking back with her. So notice this hand has to go high behind
her back, and then it'll go low, and then it'll go back to high, but it'll end up in front.
So again, just pay attention to his right arm, guys. One, two, three, low, low, high, high.
So it just kind of does this while she's turning. Yeah. At the end, just make sure you're there for
support her. So she's just coming into my body. I'm not like super, super away from her. Yeah.
Let's try it again from a different angle. Let's go from the very, very, very top. Basic first.
One, two, three, five, six, seven. Here's the hammer lock turn out of her way. Freeze here.
Super slow. We go one, two, three, five, six, seven. Yes. From here, we're going to do
our accent. The guys should feel like what we covered in the previous videos of walk back
accent. So I'm going one, two, three. Yeah. So I'm pushing here, and I'm pulling here to help her
with the accent. Again, right here, we're going one, two, three. From here, this arm, I'm going
to guide her forward to unwind her, to keep going through. So from the accent, one, two,
three, five, six, seven. I follow her, and I keep this hand behind the back. It's so good. Yes, yes.
A lot going on. Let's do it one more time. Super, super slow before we get into more details,
just in case. And let's do it from a different angle. From the accent, just in case. You're
going to have our back, but just in case if you see something. We go one, two, three. Yeah, I'm
into her. I'm bringing her into my body so she can unwind for five, six, seven. Yes, yes. For the
ladies. Yeah. So let's do it this way. So, oops, sorry, we're in an accent. This should feel really
familiar. We're just going in one, and then step on our left foot, two, and he preps me three,
and we turn left, right, left. It should feel the same as if we were facing him. The only
difference is he's going to have the hand behind the back, so we're going to end up
offset. But it's the same stuff we've done with the feet. So I think it's easy to over-complicate
it, ladies, and think that everything's so different and so crazy, but a lot of salsa steps
are really similar at the lower end. It's the upper body that makes it different and complicated. So
again, we just do our, I'm going to do it this direction, and one, two, three, we prep five,
six, seven, one, two, three. Yeah, so just do it with the guy a bunch of times. Our arm is going
to stay here after this, and one, two, three, and just keep it here for five, six, seven. That way
we can do styling with the arm right after. Yeah, so in the beginning of the course, we worked a lot
on our steps, and then we showed you the fundamentals and techniques of some of the most
common moves, and then more moves on top of that to get you to the level that you're able to do
this. Yeah, so right now, just it's a lot of new moves that we're throwing up, we're adding on up
here. So right now, don't worry about like your style, your rhythm, and sexy miento up here,
like body movement, anything crazy stuff, don't worry about that now. Even styling, you can just
toss it out the window at this particular point, and just focus on your connection with your
partner, following, and footwork. Yeah, we add lady styling in case you are picking up stuff
fast, so we give you that option, and mainly for the guys, I say this a lot for my leaders,
just because I know salsa is a little bit difficult to learn at first, you're thinking about
all of this, yeah, and it might feel like this, so we covered the steps, we're adding new moves,
so just focus on this for now, and then later you can add a more spice and flair to it with more
body movement, which we get into in the course, and other sections. Yeah, you can't really add
your own flair, personal style, when you're thinking about stuff too much, so you'll know
when you're ready for style, because your mind's going to be a little bit more at ease, and you're
going to be like, oh, got that, your body kind of has a little bit of muscle memory in it, and you
have more like space to think of. Yeah, because things are going to be robotic at first, and once
things just start coming more natural, and more fluid, you're able to think about doing different,
and more things. That's when you know it's time to add styling, flair, and all that jazz. Here we
go, slowly from the very top, top, top, top, top, very slowly, we basic, we go one, two, three, five,
six, seven, one, two, hand up, we turn, get out of her way, open, three, five, six, accent, one, two,
three, unwind, six, seven. Guys, make sure we're going in this move, we're going a lot of forward,
a lot of back, make sure you're traveling with her. So from here, when we did this one,
I'm walking back, so I'm coming with her, I accent right here, I step right foot, left foot, right foot,
the left foot, and right foot are coming forward, so I'm coming with her. Yeah, so I'm not just,
if I just stayed here, and I take small steps, she's going to go all the way over there. It looks
nice going, traveling, if you have this space in the dance floor, if it's very tight, just keep the
steps smaller, respect the space around you. Yeah, and kind of on that note, ladies, if the guy's not
really traveling much, don't travel a lot. So let me give you an example, let's say he's trying to
keep this, we keep this one small, so let's try, sorry, let's try doing that, if he's just doing it small,
I would want to keep it small with him, and I keep it small, because he's keeping it small, this is
what you do not want to do, one, two, three, four, because look, I'm leaving him, and he's like, I'm not going
there, lady, will you do it from this accent, and then the same thing on this accent, I don't want to
just be like, yeah, leaving him behind. Guys, if she does that, you got to go with her, but ladies, you
shouldn't do that, you're kind of gauging how far he's going, and you're staying in his zone. Here we go,
we are talking a lot, so let's do it two times, we won't say any more tips or breakdowns for now, just
so you guys can get some practice in, and then we'll finish off the move, let's go slowly from this
position, we basic, one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, open, three, five, six,
seven, accent, and five, six, seven, last time, let's go super slow on this one, slowly, and one, two, three,
five, six, the slowest salsa, one, two, three, five, six, seven, open, three, five, six, seven, accent,
three, five, six, seven, from here, we're going to open break, guys, same thing with the left, ladies, I'm
going to be pushing you to go back as well, we're going to get into a copa again, we covered this
already in the other part of the course, we went one, two, three, yeah, so we're like kind of like in a
copa position from a different handhold, yeah, so let's do that again, let me actually come on this
side, so you guys can see, we're here, we're going one, two, three, yeah, guys, I'm just going left, right,
left, from here, I'm going to unwind her into a free spin from this position, I'm going to guide her
forward on that five, turn six, seven, we go five, six, seven, I stay with her, so I can connect to the lower
back, so we can just finish with the cross body lead, one, two, three, and five, six, seven, yeah, so
watch that last part again, I'm here, one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three, and five, six, seven,
yeah, you want to go over the step for that next part? Yeah, ladies, so as soon as he gives you a push
back here, again, if you're not ready for styling, you can just keep it pretty simple, yeah, and just
keep the arm out of the way close to your body, so as soon as he gives you this push back, this arm
that was here, yeah, I'm going to bring it down past his arm, so I have this clearance, down, and then I
have to clear his face, this is really important that you don't go like this, or go slow, so I don't
actually hit you, that I don't go like this, and then whack him, so I go down, up, I clear his face,
then I can go behind my head, and out, so I'm here by three, so it's really, really, really fast, so
slow it down with your partner to make sure you don't knock him, and then you can get faster as
you feel more confident, so you have to go immediately, one, two, three, yes, then you're going to do the
same thing, you're going to come up, you're going to go five, six, seven, so you can go behind the head again,
you can do that many, many in different ways, the easiest way is to come up and just go right behind
your head, some people will go five, six, seven, and they'll leave it above their head, that's a little bit
more intermediate, so the easiest way is just a loop behind your head, as we progress, we'll talk
more about leaving it there, and opening it, but so again, for now, you just go really fast, one,
two, three, and five, six, seven, and basic, three, here we go, let's try it two more times, then we'll
try it with the music, yeah, nice and slow, remember if you have to pause and rewind, or go over something
before you continue, go ahead and do so, let's begin slowly, five, six, basic, one, two, three, here we go,
one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, guys on the accent, again, I'm just going
one, three, I'm not stepping on that two, I'm just going left, and in, I shift my weight here, so I can go
with my right, continuing on, one, two, three, five, six, seven, quick arm down, one, two, three, five, six, cross body,
one, two, three, five, six, seven, basic, and cross body leads, so we can do it on the other side, one, two, three,
five, six, basic, here we go, five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three,
five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, cross body lead,
and step step step very nice guys remember guys if this video feels too
complicated it's one of two things you move too quickly down the course and you
didn't practice enough or you maybe skipped some necessary parts that you
need more practice in so you might just need to reference one little video or
one little move and practice that again and again and if you just are having
trouble with one little part be sure to comment on this video or message us
