Hey everybody, this is Pam at the Paper Outpost and this is Sunny.
Hey Sunny, what are you doing? Eating blue paper. Yeah, yeah, because it was there.
Yeah, that's it. That's all I got to say. Bye.
Okay everybody. Hey, welcome, welcome. This is the Paper Outpost and guess what?
I am so excited to present to you my May Digi Kits. These are all beautiful vintage
images that I've curated for you guys in different collections and these are the
topics for May. The first one is called Blooms of Beauty and I'm going to show you
each individual page. There's five pages in each set at the end but I just want to show you some
examples of things that I made so I can give you some ideas of what you can do with your Digi Kits
and then I can show you what is in each kit. Angels is another set. Beautiful Victorian and
vintage angels, birds nests and eggs. Yes, that's a fab collection. Sewing Notions. Hey,
we got to have a Sewing Notions one, right? Okay, let me zoom in a little bit so you can see better.
Okay, Sewing Notions. Yes, and finally we finish it up with Victorian hats and everything related
to thereof. Okay, so let's take a peek. See what a few little doodads I made. Actually,
I made quite a few this time. Let's see. Let me show you some things that I made with the Digi.
I'll just bring them all in here and then we'll go through them and maybe this will spark some
ideas for you. Pull all these over. Looks like I get carried away and I just end up making a
whole bunch of things. Why? Because it's fun. It's fun. I admit it. Okay, all right, here you go.
These are just to get your fires burning. Oh, yeah, and that too. Okay, is that everything? I
think so. All right, let's just move everything off to the side. Okay, first of all, I made this
little envelope. I made it out of a Leonardo da Vinci book page and any big art book is great if
you don't mind tearing a book apart. It has beautiful aged paper. It's not really that old.
It's just made to look old, but I love seeing his writing and I believe he wrote from right to left
if I have that correct. I'm not 100% sure, but I made a little pocket here with one of the
sewing notions DigiKit items and I sewed this little envelope and I made like a little faux
cream colored leather band across with some little snaps and then I used one of the, this is a
sewing notions thread, thread in the corner, a little mouse taking her little babies for a ride
and just put inside here a piece of white cardstock with one of the bird's nest pictures on it
as a topper for a little card to write on. Just something fun, just something quick and easy
and very useful. These can be tucked into junk journals, clipped onto pages, tucked into pockets,
snuggled into the front or back cover and I would show you in a journal, but I just don't have one
right now. Okay, so another thing I made was, oh this was kind of fun. This was a little booklet
that I made and I used one of the pictures from the angel design as a front focal point for the
booklet and I did this little sewing technique that's been around for a hundred years. I think
it's called blanket stitch, but don't quote me on that. I'm not a sewing person, but I just
sat there and sort of tried to figure it out on my own and this is what I came up with and it's
another great way to attach full-size pages together without having to do any folding or
anything like that. So if you'd like for me to show you how I did that, I'm more than happy to
do that. Just leave me a little note in the comments and I'll make a video on that. So this
was very fun, quick, easy way to make a focal point. Okay, put the dunceys here. You know, hey,
gotta have a bookmark, right? Here is, let me just back up a little bit, here is a big bookmark
and what I tried to do with these digikits is make it easy for you to cut them easily
because they're lined up. So for example, I have one, two, three, four, five images on this
particular, this is from again the sewing notions and you can see the different pictures on there
and I just used the whole strip on a giant bookmark. And on the back, I just put some
fun note paper and I made them little flips and that way I just, I tacked them down with some
washi tape, just something fun, easy to do. Put a little ribbon at the top and there you go,
a cute giant bookmark and it'd be very easy to find where you are in the book with this
giant bookmark. Okay, the next thing is this adorable little, it's just a vintage envelope
I happen to have. You can use any envelope, it can be a brand new envelope, but I just did some
decorating on it with a little bit of lace. This is a picture from the sewing notions
and then when you turn it over, here's a picture from the birds nests,
birds nests and eggs, a little bit of lace and a little Victorian button there.
And then on the inside, the word believe and three angel cards inside and I just thought
these were nice to leave as is. Somebody can just contemplate and write something on the back if
they so choose. So lots of fun to be had with those. So you can use them as standalones, as
focal points, as cards, so many ideas. Here is a fun little idea with the
blooms of beauty. These are all from blooms of beauty and these are actually,
these are three across. So the page, I think this was one from one whole page and I just took the
page and I cut it down so I had these strips and then I made little trifolds out of it and you
could do anything you want on the inside. Make writing space or you could put a little poem
or a quote but it makes a very cute little trifold. Here this one I put a vintage dictionary
page on the inside. You could even put a little piece of plain paper here to give them writing
space if you would like to do that and I just dolled them up with a little bit of inking and
a little bit of enamel black drops. And here is the third one. Oh and I put a word stamp on them
too. Yeah, yes I did. Okay and then on the last one what was on the, oh no that, yeah that was the
dictionary. Oh music paper, yes I did music paper on the other one just for fun, just to show you
different looks. So those are fun to make, very easy. These are all the ones I want to show you.
Okay, here this one I just made a quick focal point out of this one. That's Sonny digging on
the garbage can for some strange reason, we don't know why. And I just sewed around it so whenever
I need a focal point for something, it's ready to go. I can just glue it down. This could go on a card,
it could go on a book cover, up totally up to you. This is kind of a fun little guy. He's a, yes now
the garbage can has moved four feet away from me, totally out of my reach. This is made from the
birds nests and eggs collection. I'll show you how this works. And this is a stretch out
and a go back, a stretch out and a go back. Now if you flip it over, there's a few little things on
the back but you could do some extra writing on the back. And this can easily tuck into any pocket
or be clipped onto a journal page for a little extra surprise, a little extra writing. I put a
flat back pearl at the top and used some sorry silk here to make the hinges. Very fun, quick and
easy. And here is a, this is a collection, it's a tri-fold portfolio that I made but it's a collection
of scraps turned into a piece of paper. So I had some like resume business paper that had this line
all the way across it so I just cut the strips off and I used the paper, the cream colored paper
but then I had all these strips and I thought well what if I glue all the strips together and
next thing you know I had a page and I thought what can I use the page for and I thought oh
maybe I'll make a tri-fold portfolio. Why not right? So I used one of the sewing notions for
the front with a big rhinestone, some sewing layered onto lace. Okay and then it opens up
and inside you have three little pockets here. Now on the back of every page is a page from my
Leonardo da Vinci giant art book which I tore apart and these are made from, the little
pockets are made from the inside book cover of some vintage book with a beautiful caramel
vanillas. I put in here stickers, tickets, little fun things and I added words from my words
collection, a digi kit just to give it something fun there. Less is more, that's funny in the junk
journal world isn't it? Well at least in my junk journal world that's very funny. I had a leftover
collection, a strip of white papers so I just went ahead and made a nice contrasting little
notebook in the middle with a butterfly sticker and sewing it at the top and then over here I
have a little fun. These are some pictures from the sewing notions. This is also,
I think they're all from sewing. Oh this might be Victorian hats. I think that's Victorian hats.
Sewing notions I think, yep. Hats again and Victorian hats again but I turned them all into
postcards. I have a postcard stamp which makes it very easy but if you don't have a postcard
stamp you could just as easily make some lines and write the word postcard and you can actually
use these as postcards. Just do them on cardstock, something obviously a little stiffer than regular
paper and these are mailable. So there you go. Make it like a little bit thicker cardstock,
that would be a good idea. So there's a lot of fun things that you can do with these different
elements and let's see what else did I make. Oh I made this little, this is very easy, just
three pictures of the birds and the, three pictures of the birds and the
nests and eggs. Thank you. Yeah sorry, Honey didn't realize that I'm doing a video and he's
calling me. Hello Honey. Hi. Hang on. All right so this is very simple to do. I just took three
different, not necessarily lined up pictures but I just attached them with a brad
and now there they can spin open like this and you can see the nest and you can see this beautiful
picture of eggs. I love that picture and beautiful birds and their nest and that again can be clipped
into or tucked into any location in your junk journals. And then the last one is just a very
simple focal point again but it's a bigger one and I thought it really lent itself nicely to that
and it's this beautiful picture of an angel. This is a, I guess, a Christmas angel. I think that
says, oh I'm gonna butcher this, Glödelig Juhl. I'm guessing that means happy Juhl, like happy
Christmas. I'm guessing because there's a Christmas tree there, angel star Christmas,
you know, just thinking. But it was so beautiful. I love the picture and I know it's April but hey
or it's May. I should be saying it's May. It's May but hey. It just looked so cute. I thought,
you know, this angel needed to be involved in the angel collection. So let's take a look at the
actual kits, why don't we? Alrighty then. So those are some ideas that you can make. Where did I put
the kits? They're over here. Alright, first kit up is Blooms of Beauty. Okay, let's take a look at
these and these are just some stellar pictures. I mean, I could just live in the world of flowers,
birds and butterflies forever because there's just, you know, these amazing artistic pieces
that were done so long ago and they're just so beautiful that I think it's wonderful that we are
giving them new life again. Okay, so I just flipped through these to give you an idea.
I did try to give you different variety of sizes so in case you want needed a big one or a small
one, you have options. Okay, back in here just a little bit more and let's see what other things
we have here. So here's some that are easy to cut. Okay, and all these that I'm going to show
you only have four pages because I actually used the fifth page in what I made. So you're going to
see the four pages but there are actually five pages in each kit. Okay, so that is Blooms of
Beauty. Trying to give them unique names. Okay, this is Victorian Hats. Okay, take a peek at Victorian Hats
and beautiful hats or hatteries and or companies that sell hats. So
Victorian and vintage pictures from days gone by demonstrating all sorts of different kinds of
hats and hat companies. Victorian style, Victorian fashion could be included in this
but I thought Victorian Hats just gave it a very nice, I don't know, it just pulled it all together
because there was something. They got it about hats back then, didn't they? Don't you think? Yeah, they
really did and again I tried to make these easy to cut so that you can cut them quickly and get
on with your crafting. So I'm hoping that helps and here we go. Let's take a look at the next one.
This is Sewing Notions. Okay, let's see what we have here. Yeah, you can see that pretty good,
I think. Okay, so this is pictures of different sewing items. Some are thread, different sewing
machines, all sorts of different things. Some of them are really cute and very funny.
Some are more relaxing as you're on the beach with your thread. Of course, we all do that,
right? Yes, I know. I know. What's going on over there, Holly? My parrot is flapping around.
What's going on? Sometimes he gets scared of, you know, if he sees a big bird or a eagle or a hawk
or something outside his window because he can see out there. So I will go see what the
situation is. Okay, hang on. Okay, I'm back and all is well. I went and double checked on Holly, my bird,
and apparently he was having a bath in his water bowl, which he loves to do and I mistook that as
him flapping around in the cage, which he did not do. He is just having a grand old time. He loves
a bath in his water bowl. Birds, nests, and eggs. This is probably so, I just love the colors and
they're so pretty in here. So birds, nests, and eggs. Okay, give you an idea and here's
four of those pages. That's a cool one there in the center, isn't it? I don't know. I just thought
that was cool and I hope you like these collections. I just try and pick out things that I
think that you might like. Maybe you find something that tickles your fancy. You might like to use
again and again and lots of different pictures of eggs and birds nests and a few birdie pics
every now and then. So that is birds, nests, and eggs. Okay, and last but not least, we have the
angel collection and these are primarily Victorian and vintage or much older angels and they're just
lovely. I mean, look at those. Some of these are gorgeous. I mean, just, oh, oh, I've been looking
for angel pictures for a while and I was very happy and I finally found some and some of these
are just so stunning. So stunning. If you have collections like Victorian pictures with angels,
just so pretty and just different sizes. Again, I try to make it so it's somewhat easy to cut
these out for you and I believe that's an old like, it's like a stucco painting.
Very, very old pictures but a lot of fun. So I hope this gives you some ideas for maybe spring
or the coming of summer when, you know, everything is in bloom and everybody is sewing and they're
thinking about angels. I know none of that makes sense but it's where my head went for May and
so those are the collections and I'll just put out here again so you can see some of the ideas of
things that you can make with your DigiKits that are very fun and very easy to do and maybe
