Lifewood’s French oak flooring is sourced from a few trusted, well-managed plantations in France, one of which is the renowned Troncais forest.
These plantations are the result of a successful forest management process that has been in practice for over 400 years. Troncais is regarded as the finest oak forest in Europe and is able to provide a sustainable supply of French Oak, from trees that are anywhere from 200 to 250 years old.
The appeal of engineered oak flooring hasn’t diminished over the years, and with the development of Lifewood’s extra long and extra wide French oak floorboards, it is in even higher demand.

Let's have a look at our French Oak range. Our boards are 220 mm wide
and 2.2 m long with a Junker rating of 6.5. The manufacturing process and top grading we apply
make sure you will have a beautiful timber floor that will last for a lifetime.
Welcome and thank you for joining us again for a bit of explanation about our French Oak range.
Here we have a beautiful sample of a natural French Oak. I would like you to have a look
at the top layer. We have a 4 mil wear layer to make sure that you can sand and polish your floor
up to 4 times every 10-15 years. A floor will last for a lifetime. As you can see,
we have a concealed tongue and groove to make sure that the board has an extra moisture protection.
After creating the board, we coat it in factory top, side and bottom to make sure that even if
you drop a glass of wine on your floor, nothing will happen. Your floor will still be protected.
As I mentioned, our full range of French Oak products is coated with a UV lacquer with a
matte finish. Why won't we oil the floor? Just because we realize that it will be way too much
maintenance for you guys. You'll have to re-oil the floor every three to six months.
While we use a matte finish polyurethane lacquer,
we are protecting your board and making sure you enjoy the beauty of a matte finish floor.
