I TRIED ALL THE PRODUCTS DRUNK ELEPHANT MAKES // Best + Worst + DUPES

Hey guys, it's Jessica and today we're going to do a video I've been working on for a year.
I think I literally have every single drunk elephant product that is currently sold and
I've tried every single one.
So this video is going to be long, I'm going to try to condense it as much as I can and
only keep in the most important stuff, but I'm not wearing foundation today.
And if you had asked me a year ago or two years ago or three years ago if I would ever
go anywhere or do anything without foundation, I would have laughed in your face because
A, I love makeup.
I love foundation.
It's not like I'm never going to wear it again, trust me, I will.
But I've finally come to a place with my skin and my skincare where I don't feel like I
need to cover anything.
I don't have blush, bronzer, highlight, powder, foundation, anything on.
All I have obviously is eye makeup and brows and lips.
And then I took a little bit of cream concealer on my under eye and I tapped it on my nose.
I know I tapped it on my nose.
That's it.
And I feel like the better my skincare regime is and the better products I'm using, obviously
the better my skin looks.
And I found a lot of gems here.
It's not to say that this is the only brand out there that has good skincare.
Obviously there are plenty of brands I love and skincare products I've talked about.
But this video is focused on this brand, Drunk Elephant, and all of their products.
Now I also want to say if you are only looking for affordable skincare, this is not going
to be the brand for you.
Most of this was sent to me in PR, but you guys know my stance on PR is kind of changing
and I'm not accepting PR from every brand under the sun anymore.
So anything positive I say about these, anything negative, I'm not trying to stay on a brand's
good side or anything like that.
I'm trying to give you my true experience, my thoughts, and the information I've gotten
from research I've done.
So I'm trying to keep a level head, but there are products I love, but there are also some
products that I think that you can get for cheaper or that I think just aren't worth
the money.
And I'll also be able to show you me using almost all of these products in clips while
I'm talking about them so you can really see them in action.
But in regards to affordable skincare, I am working on a drugstore skincare video.
I'm in the process of getting the products that I want.
I want to try them out for a month or two, so it might be a couple months before that
video is up, but I hope you'll subscribe and stick around if you're also interested
in that because there are so many amazing skincare products at the drugstore.
You don't have to spend this kind of money on the products.
And I'm also going to end...
I know there's so many prefaces, you guys.
I know.
This is ridiculous.
I was practicing in the shower, but I knew there was so much I wanted to be able to get
in before I even start the review.
So the other thing I wanted to mention is that at the very end, I'm going to share with
you my top three products from this brand that I personally am going to be repurchasing
that I genuinely think are worth the money if you can afford it.
Okay, let's get into the skincare.
So as I started doing more research into this brand when I decided, okay, I've tried a lot.
I want to do this kind of overview video of all of their products.
So when I went on their website, I was reading their little philosophy tab and I was struck
by what I read.
So they're trying to use only ingredients that directly benefit the skin.
Anything that's questionable or there've been studies done that maybe make the product maybe
not as good, maybe kind of good, but it's not certain.
They leave it out.
Their kind of motto is, if there's any doubt, leave it out or something like that, which
I think is amazing because there are so many, you'd be shocked at how many expensive, I'm
talking $100, $150 skincare products, eye creams, moisturizers, whatever that have products
that are awful for your skin.
They're throwing in these heavy fragrances that are A, unnecessary, but B, can do some
damage to your skin.
But they say that you also won't find the, you also won't find what we call the suspicious
six in our products.
That would be essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance and
dyes and an SLS, which is like sulfate.
I just think that they are focusing on exactly the right things.
So when they're charging that higher price tag, that may be why.
They're looking for the best ingredients that are out there.
They're not putting in fillers to fill the rest of the bottle.
Think about that.
That means that every bit that you're using of whatever product is genuinely packed with
whatever those ingredients they believe in.
So that's kind of important because a lot of the products you see out there, not just
drugstore, I mean across the board, have fillers in them that are basically, if you think about
it, in a way they can be watering down some of the ingredients in there and the potency
of it.
So I could keep going and going and going, but that's kind of the gist of this brand.
I don't know why it's called Drunk Elephant.
Has anyone figured that out?
I also want to say that they have a lot of kits where you can try smaller versions of
them and while the kits, like if you got one, there's one that's like got like 13 products
in it.
It's like $90, which yeah, that's expensive, but if you're really dying to dip your toe
in the water of this brand and you have a gift card or something, that would be an amazing
way to try so many products because then if you only fall in love with like one or two
of them, then you know, okay, then I want to spend my money that way.
Instead of dropping, let's say $60 or $70 on one product full size and praying that
you like it.
You know what I mean?
We're going to start with one that is a personal favorite of mine and we're going to talk about
the Proteini Polypeptide Cream.
I've already used this one up, so I have like the little trial size that I can use to show
you, but this is a moisturizer that has all kinds of peptides in it.
So it retails for $68.
So what this is, it says it's a protein moisturizer with an unprecedented concentration of signal
peptides, growth factors, amino acids, water lily for visible and immediate improvement
in the appearance of skin's tone, texture, and firmness.
So it's basically going to strengthen and moisturize your skin.
A lot of their products are in airtight containers like this where you push down and the product
actually squirts up.
It keeps air and light out of it so that way it's not messing with the integrity of the
ingredients inside.
I use this as a nighttime moisturizer.
I would have used it during the day too, but it was so darn expensive I didn't want to
use it up.
You know what I mean?
But it totally works under makeup, so if you're curious about that, I didn't notice any pilling
up or anything like this, but I just fell in love with this product because of its texture.
It's kind of like a gel cream kind of a feeling and I just feel like it moisturizes so well,
but it's still kind of a thin layer.
I feel like a lot of moisturizers that are thinner don't feel like they're moisturizing
enough for me, even though they may be.
This one does both.
It's thinner, but it still feels amazingly moisturizing on the skin.
But I think my favorite thing about this is not only was it hydrating, it really smooths
my skin.
And I feel like the more I use this, the more I notice the tone of my skin was evened out.
That's going to be the theme of this video.
I really, I mean, this is one of the best moisturizers I've ever tried, if not the best.
I really like it, you guys.
Now, one that I think is for you if you have way drier skin is the Lala Retro Whipped Cream.
This one is jam packed.
And I have to admit the first few times I tried this, I didn't like it.
It's a really thick whipped kind of a cream.
And the nice thing is that it doesn't leave a greasy feeling behind.
So even though it's a really thick cream, it doesn't end up looking or feeling greasy,
which is pretty cool.
But this thing is incredible at turning around super dry skin.
So if you've got patches or just areas that you're like, oh my gosh, it's so dry.
This thing is magic, I'm telling you.
I had a few patches like here, I think, this past winter and up here.
And when I started using this again, because like I said, when I first tried it, I didn't
like it.
I kind of put it away for a while.
I pulled it back out and I swear to you, in about a week, week and a half, they were gone.
And this was, I just feel like this is incredible if you have super dry skin, you could use
it if you have oily skin.
Again, it doesn't leave that greasy feeling.
The main thing here is that it's really, really combating that dryness.
So when I compare these two, because I have more normal, I do have dry tendencies.
But when I don't have patches, my skin is pretty normal.
I really do prefer this if you're not wanting to have both.
And that was another thing the brand had mentioned on their site was that, you know, they're
all about people finding the few products that they genuinely need and using those.
You don't need all of these.
I can't use all of these in conjunction with each other.
It's too much.
I mean, it'd be like literally 20 layers of stuff.
It's not going to happen.
So it really is all about knowing yourself, knowing your skin and what you maybe need
and trying just a couple of products.
So the next product is their Sea Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream.
It's in the packaging that you'll see a lot from here on out that twists up again to protect
it from light and air.
And then it's a pump and then you twist it back down.
This is a very moisturizing eye cream, but it also has vitamin C in it, which can kind
of help brighten any areas that are dark around your under eye, especially if it's because
of like actual sun damage, because that's what vitamin C can work against.
If you have really dark circles just from heredity, it might not do the trick, but it's
got these antioxidants that are helping protect your skin from the environment as well.
And it's just nice.
It is kind of, again, pricey for an eye cream when you really can just use your moisturizer.
But if you're like me, I like having separate things for everything.
That's just the way I am.
So I don't mind having an extra eye cream, but like I said, it's not totally necessary.
But it also claims to firm up the eye skin.
I don't know that I've noticed that.
I am using something else to help with that.
We'll talk about it in a second.
And I feel like I'm noticing more of a difference with that than I am with this.
But the fact that it's slightly brightening and moisturizing for me is what makes me like
it.
Now for one of their cheaper products, it's $34, but it's their cleanser.
This is their Bestie No. 9 Jelly Cleanser.
I just don't think anyone ever needs to spend $34 on a face cleanser.
Did I like this?
Yeah.
I literally have nothing to complain about it, but it's just so expensive.
Literally my favorite cleansers are from the drugstore.
They just happen to be.
And so they're literally a third of this price, and they're so good.
I will link my two favorite drugstore cleansers down below.
So this is one of those products in the line that I think is nice.
If I have them, I will use them.
But I don't think I would spend my own money once I'm out of these buying them again, because
why?
Now, it says that this removes makeup, and I don't agree with that.
Because for me, I've got mascara and liner on usually.
And especially if I've used a gel liner that day, I can't get it off with this.
So I don't feel like it does that.
I do a double cleanse where I use a makeup remover first, and then I go in with a traditional
cleanser like this.
So I don't have a problem using it in that way.
But if you're expecting it to do all of it, and you wear mascara and liner, I don't know
that this will do all of it for you.
But I do feel like it's a gentle cleanser.
I don't find that it's stripping.
It doesn't give my skin that tight feeling at all.
I have a couple travel sizes of this.
And I love traveling with this, because like I said, it's a good cleanser.
It's small.
It doesn't take up room.
So no complaints, except for the price for a cleanser.
This is the Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum.
Now, I think, yeah, OK, they have changed it.
So never mind.
They have this eye serum now in the same packaging as this, but with this color.
Like most of these, this is $60.
I feel like you don't need both of these.
I prefer the Sea Tango, but the claims on this, it's kind of the same thing.
Help with fine lines.
Help work against sun damage and dark spots, brightening that area.
It's the same things there.
Now, this is more of a serum.
But I will say, I feel like this helped with puffiness under the eye more so than the Sea
Tango.
So if you've got puffiness you're combating, I think this helped a little bit.
Again, it didn't like overnight just fix it.
I do remember noticing a slight difference, but this is one of my least favorite products
in the line.
I think for me, I didn't like the feel of it.
It was a very thin consistency.
And so I felt like I'd put it on and be like, well, now I feel like I need a moisturizer
on top, which again, this is supposed to be an eye serum, not just an eye moisturizer
on its own.
So you can totally use it that way.
But the other nice thing about this is it does not leave a greasy residue behind.
So you could use it morning and night under concealer and you're not going to feel like
you've just got a ton of grease under there.
Whereas with this, I use it morning and night as well, but it's definitely a little bit
more moisturizing.
So you see it there.
So it's just something to keep in mind.
I put makeup on top of this all the time and I've never had any issues.
But if you already have an oily face, you might prefer this just because you can use
it morning and night and it's not going to be quite as greasy as this one.
This one is the newest one to me.
So I've gotten the least use out of this.
And it is, I think, their newest launch, but it is their Slay Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser.
I love this stuff, you guys.
Now, I don't think, how much is this?
It's $34.
You can get similar products from almost every brand, but this freaking removes your makeup.
It was amazing.
The first time I used it a few weeks ago, I was like, oh yeah.
And I love that it's got a little spoon that magnetizes that.
I just think that's so smart.
But what you do is with a dry face, you get a little bit of this onto your fingers, rub
it together, and then I rub it all over my face and it just like instantly, the makeup
is wiped off.
So then I go in with water and I splash it off, you know.
I think you could also wipe it off if you wanted.
Yeah, so it says you can also remove it with a soft washcloth if you'd rather do it that
way.
But I just go straight in with water because then once I've done that with an already wet
face and hands, I go in with my cleanser and finish it up.
It's just a nice, thick, creamy consistency that just melts into your skin when you're
using it.
I feel like it removes the most stubborn of makeup.
So I love it.
This is something I would maybe buy again, but maybe on sale because I could also get
like the Clinique Take the Day Off.
It's very, very similar.
And I think that one's slightly cheaper.
Oh, the one that I get the most questions about.
This is one of their magic products, in my humble opinion.
This is their TLC Framboose Glycolic Night Serum.
You've probably heard of this one or at least you've seen the bottle.
It's one of those like award winners, everyone loves it, it's so good.
I was very skeptical and I had it like when they'd send it to me, I kind of just had it
for a while and I'm like, I don't know how to use it.
Like so many of their products, I had to look up how to use because there's such kind of
specific names.
I'm like, when do I use it?
So this is something that's called a serum, but consistency wise, it feels like a serum,
but it really is an exfoliant.
So don't let that term confuse you because I do feel like when I'm using this, I still
need to be using some kind of other serum with other properties because this is not
traditional.
This really is more of an exfoliant.
So it has AHAs and BHAs.
What this is going to do and what I feel like it's doing for me is it's evening out your
skin tone and it's unclogging your pores on a molecular level deeper than what those physical
exfoliants claim to do.
So I feel like this is one of those things that when you're putting it on the first few
times, you don't feel like it's doing anything, but I am telling you, you will notice a difference.
Over the course of a few weeks, you'll start to notice it.
And now I feel like if I ran out of this, I would need this again.
Now I have heard of a dupe from The Ordinary that I will link below.
I have not tried that, but I've heard in a lot of different sites that it's definitely
super similar and of course it's way cheaper.
So if you've never tried an exfoliant like this, a chemical exfoliant, I will link The
Ordinary one down below too because that might be a better stepping stone price wise to make
sure you even like this kind of a thing.
But I really like this.
It's super expensive as all of these are, but I feel like it's making a huge difference.
Next step, I need to try The Ordinary one.
So this next product is ideal for you if you have more oily skin.
It is their Be Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel.
I know that sounds confusing because you think intensive hydration, I have oily skin, why
would I?
But if you're like me and you have drier skin, you're not going to feel like this is enough.
Now there are ingredients in it that are incredibly hydrating.
It's got vitamin B5 in it to help with that, but it also doesn't have any silicones in
it.
So the feel of it is a little bit different than what a lot of us are used to because
a lot of the products we use have silicones in it.
It's one of those products, the first time I used it, I didn't love it.
It's just like a kind of very light, very light texture.
It doesn't give a greasy look at all.
But for me, it just doesn't feel moisturizing enough.
And for me, part of skincare is the way it feels.
Obviously not all of it, but that's part of the enjoyment I get out of it.
And I just didn't love the way this one feels.
Now I feel like you had, if you had super dry skin, you could probably put this on and
pair it with a thicker actual moisturizer on top of it, and that would be fine.
So it's not that you can't use this, but I don't think this is one that's for everyone
if that makes sense.
But it definitely is a watery feeling kind of a gel.
So if you like that feel, you'll like this.
If you don't, you'll hate it.
But it's got B5, it's got ceramides in it, so it's doing a lot of good for your skin,
but you might not love the feel of it.
I didn't notice a huge difference when I used this versus the other moisturizers I really
liked from them.
And so I just, this is something that I wouldn't purchase again with my own money.
Okay, next is another favorite.
It's their C-Firma Day Serum.
I use this every single day.
I stopped using it because I've been using my Glow Maker, which is 28 bucks, and this
one's $80.
You can save a lot of money.
It's very, very, very similar, very similar.
So what this is, it's a vitamin C serum.
That's gonna, again, help protect your skin against the environment, but it's also gonna
help reverse some sun damage, even your skin tone out a little bit.
I love vitamin C serums, and a lot, there's a dermatologist I watch here on YouTube that
doesn't really like them, doesn't, I think it's that she doesn't really think that they're
able to stay super stable, so it's kind of important the packaging it's in, but then
all the other dermatologists I watch on YouTube love vitamin C serums and recommend them,
so I don't know.
I really like them.
I feel like I notice a difference when I'm using one versus when I'm not.
If I go like a week, I travel, and don't bring one, I swear to you, my skin, I suddenly
am seeing like sun spots coming through, and like I notice a difference, but it's got
ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, vitamin E, of course, vitamin C, I think it's like within
that ascorbic acid, but it neutralizes pollution, environmental stressors, from free radicals,
all of that, helps with dark spots, helps with wrinkles.
It is a powerhouse.
For me, the way I use this is I'll apply it on my face first thing, same with the Glowmaker.
I'll apply it first thing on my face, then I'll go in with my moisturizer, physical SPF,
et cetera.
We're gonna talk about SPF in a second.
But it's also got pumpkin, hyaluronic acid, licorice root, green tea, pomegranate.
It's got a little bit of their marula oil, which we'll also talk about in a second.
It does have a slight orange color.
Now, it can get deeper, and I emailed with the brand, and I was like, uh, is this normal?
There's a thing going around that vitamin C, once it's turned orange, it's gone off.
So like literally, I think this is the one I put away, I was like, oh, it's bad.
But when I contacted the brand, they said, no, because of the ingredients that are in
this particular product, it naturally has that color.
Now, it might darken over time, and eventually, you know, if you don't use it up, of course
it's gonna go bad like any of these would, but that's not something to concern you if
you buy a brand new one and it has that slight golden hue, it's okay, it hasn't gone bad.
And again, the packaging helps with that, to help prevent that.
So let's talk about their Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil.
I again have a dupe that I actually put this away, and I'm using that one.
It's from that same brand, Maylove, again, $28, I think all of their products are.
It's the same exact thing.
It's cold-pressed, it's just so much cheaper, but I love marula oil.
I sometimes mix my marula oil in with a moisturizer, it just, I feel like that's what helps give
my skin somewhat of a glow.
I don't mean like greasy, I mean like literally a glow over time.
It's helping with the dryness in my skin.
So marula oil is known to have fatty acids in it, which can help offer anti-aging benefits,
kind of plumping benefits.
It's even been shown to improve hyperpigmentation, so it's just got all of this packed into one.
I do feel like this is more for you if you have drier skin.
They don't sell an argan oil, but use argan oil if you've got more oily skin, it's just
a little bit lighter, but I really like marula oil, not just on its own, but even mixed in
with moisturizers.
I love it.
The thing I like about it is if you apply a small amount, it only takes about three
or four minutes for it to completely sink into the skin, so you don't feel like you're
dealing with this hugely greasy layer for like the entire day.
It really does sink in nicely, so I really like it.
I don't think you have to buy their version, but I do like it, but you can save a little
bit of money with it.
I just like marula oil in general.
This next product is one that I've had quite a few of you guys ask if it's worth it, because
it's 18 bucks for a lip balm.
Now, I've paid even more for other brands of lip balms, so it's not totally unheard
of, but it is pricey for a lip balm if you could just go to the drugstore and buy one
for four bucks.
It's their lippy balm, and this one's actually completely out.
I have another backup in my drawer, but it says it's got avocado, cranberry, marula oils,
so it's going to deeply moisturize and stuff, but it also has peptides, some algae that's
supposed to help plump up your lips.
I don't know that I notice plumping, and it certainly doesn't have a tingle or anything.
If anything, it just feels super moisturizing, comfortable on the lips, not super thick,
but not so thin that you don't feel like you have anything on.
I enjoyed this.
I could see myself buying this, especially if it were the Sephora 20% off sale.
I could totally see myself buying this, because I did enjoy it.
I did, but I also have like 10 lip balms that I love, but again, I like that it's got really
good ingredients.
They're going to leave out anything that's going to be drying on your lips, so that I
appreciate.
Another one I've talked about and used on my channel a lot is the Drunk Elephant Debronzy
Anti-Pollution Sunshine Serum.
Now, this is $36, and it's literally a makeup skincare kind of hybrid.
It's a serum that's got antioxidants and stuff that's going to help with pollution protection,
but it also is literally a bronzer, so they say not to apply it on its own, but to mix
it with stuff.
I have applied it on its own actually recently, because I was trying to match my face.
You may notice I'm a little bit deeper than my face naturally is with nothing on it right
now, but I do it all.
I've mixed it with stuff.
I put it on on its own.
As long as I'm putting something on top of it, it looks fine.
If I'm not, it'd be way too much, but mixed in with moisturizer, it is such a beautiful
tinted color.
It's got great ingredients in it.
I mean, you can't find that in just like a makeup bronzer, which I think is really cool.
You could totally take this like I had it on my hand with a brush and tap it into those
areas.
I've tried that a couple times.
It's definitely more of a wash of color in that way, but it's beautiful.
Now, is that going to be protecting your entire face from pollution?
No, but it's a really just interesting product, and I love that they're kind of innovating
in that way because I've never heard of something like this, but it definitely has a glow to
it, and it says it's got cocoa powder, polyphenols, peptides, so it's got those antioxidant benefits
of vitamin D as well, so it's just a powerhouse.
Highly recommend this one.
I can't even tell you of a dupe because I don't know of one that's a liquidy bronzer
that's also got these amazing skincare benefits.
Really, really cool.
Now, it's not an SPF, so don't get it twisted.
You still need an SPF.
Okay, a product I really liked, but I have a caveat.
It's their Umber Tint Physical Daily Defense.
This is an SPF of 30.
It has a tint to it.
It's not like a foundation.
You know what I mean?
It's going to blend into your skin, but it does have a little glowy tint to it, and it's
got SPF of 30.
The only thing is, when you first get it out of there, it has this weird grit to it, but
once you blend it in, it goes away, but it's really bizarre.
I don't know how to explain it.
That's the only caveat.
I just thought it was weird.
I'm like, maybe I just have a bad one.
Do any of you guys have this?
Have you experienced that?
It has a very specific smell, and again, none of them have fragrance in it, so they just
smell the way they smell, which honestly, I would prefer, but it just leaves this beautiful
glow to my skin, and that's perfect when either A, I'm not wearing makeup, I'm just putting
it on.
If I'm wearing makeup on top, it already gives me kind of a nice base that's already evened
a few things out.
You know what I mean?
So, I really, really enjoy this, but not only is it an SPF, but it has good skincare.
It's got antioxidants in it, grape juice, sunflower shoot extracts to help with photo
aging, so it's not only protecting you, but it's also doing some work behind the scenes,
but it also has marula oil, so it's also moisturizing.
Again, all of their products are so well thought out.
This isn't sponsored.
I know I'm glowing too much about a lot of these, but I've been realizing over the past
few weeks as I've researched more, not only have I had a good experience trying it and
I'm experiencing good results, but I feel like it's a really, like they're doing stuff
that most skincare companies aren't doing, and I feel like I'm noticing a lot of other
brands kind of starting to realize.
I think that we as consumers are just wising up and there's so much information available
online that companies are starting to be held accountable, and so brands like this really
shine because they're already doing what they should be doing.
So, the other SPF they have is their Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense, SPF of 30.
I don't like this one as much.
It leaves a huge white cast.
I'll show you me applying it.
Now, I think it's nice.
I will use this up because obviously it's not cheap, but they both have 20% zinc oxide.
They're both SPF of 30 physical SPF, but I just, when I compare the two, I'm like, well,
obviously I'm going to use this.
So, I might even give this to my husband because I have a feeling he would probably use it
more than I would.
But yeah, it works.
I've never been sunburned using this or that even when I've been out in the sun, so I feel
like it's doing its job, but I definitely prefer the tinted one over this one.
Okay, some products I didn't love.
They have some bar soaps.
You have to be a bar soap person to like this.
I tried and tried and tried.
These are $28 bars of soap, so this is like a little two-pack.
This is the Juju bar.
It's like a darker one, so this one's supposed to be more of an exfoliating kind of bar.
You can feel a little bit of grip to it, but it's supposed to refine your skin texture,
brighten your skin, and over time help minimize the look of pores.
I just don't like using bar soap.
It's not an enjoyable experience for me.
It feels like work.
This one is the Peaky bar, and this one's supposed to be a little bit gentler, a little
bit more moisturizing.
Again, I think if this is something ... I don't have much to say.
I use each one probably about 10 times each, and I was just like, I don't enjoy this.
But I know they're packed full of good ingredients, but they're also pricey, so I don't know.
Let me know your experience with these below if you are a bar soap person that way.
If someone's watching and they're like, oh, I really wanted to know, I prefer the Juju
bar because it does have that little bit of exfoliation.
But the thing was, you don't take it right on your face, obviously, so when I was getting
it lathered up in my hand, that kind of exfoliative property was gone, and really physical exfoliation
you don't really need to do.
But I guess what I'm saying is, I just don't care for either one of these, but I don't
think they're bad.
You just have to be that kind of person.
That sounds about that kind of person.
Almost there.
Just a couple more.
This is the TLC Sukari Baby Facial.
This is a chemical exfoliant maximized.
It says it's pro-grade, but it has other products in it to help your skin so you're not just
suddenly like, oh, my skin's burning, nothing like that.
But I do notice a slight tingle with this, and this is something that you do wash off.
So I put a thin layer all over my face.
I use it once or twice a week, honestly, typically once a week is all I have the time for.
But you put a thin layer all over your face, and then after about, I think, 15 or 20 minutes,
you rinse it off.
I don't think you need both of these.
This is that Glycolic Night Serum.
This one is more potent, more powerful.
There's a reason they're having you wash it off.
But I feel like if you're using this one almost every night or every other night, you don't
need this as well.
I feel like it's kind of overkill.
And to be honest, I prefer the ease of use of this one because I don't have to rinse
it off.
But if you like the idea of this, go for it.
But I find myself not reaching for this as often.
A, you're not supposed to use it every night.
But I just find myself not reaching for it as often because I have to have that 20 minutes
later to wash it off.
And usually, once I've done my skincare, I'm in bed.
I'm going to sleep.
So, just think about your own routine and what would fit in better.
I just don't think you need both.
Now, this is more powerful, so it's going to help with the cell turnover.
It's going to help with pores.
It's going to help with discoloration on your face, lightening things.
I mean, it does it all, just like that one does, just at a higher concentration.
It does have some different ingredients.
But if you have really stubborn, really dull skin, and you're really trying to, like, basically
brighten your appearance, give it a little bit more of a youthful appearance in your
skin, this will do wonders.
Because I do think it works, but I think they kind of give a similar effect to the skin.
Does that make sense?
So, the last product I was so nervous to use, genuinely, and it is their A. Passioni Retinol
Cream.
Now, this is 1% retinol, which is stronger than what's on the market everywhere, if that
makes sense.
It's easier to get things that aren't quite as high of a percentage or if it's kind of
a different version of retinol that's not quite as strong.
This is pretty amazing that we can buy this, basically, over the counter.
Here's the thing.
When I first opened this, this retails, by the way, for $74.
Retinol is one of the only ingredients that's been truly proven to help with aging and fine
lines and wrinkles.
So, I was excited to start using it.
I just turned 30 this year.
So, I started using it, I would say, probably eight months ago.
I have definitely noticed a difference.
I have fine lines and crow's feet appearing here, and again, I don't have any makeup on,
and I feel like it has helped so much when it comes to that.
I've got little lines appearing here, and I feel like all of them have diminished.
I'm also using a number seven product I like.
So, it's, again, it's like an awful science experiment because I use so much skincare
all the time, it's hard to tell exactly what, but I've been using this long enough to say
that I'm definitely noticing a difference, and this is one of those things that you have
to use long term to see those differences.
The reason I was nervous to use this is because the first time I tried it, I put it all over,
you know, you sleep in it, that's that, you don't rinse it off or anything, but I used
it again, I think like a couple days in a row, and I had the worst peeling and dryness
right here and here, my chin, and then when I did research, I'm like, Jessica, you moron,
of course.
It's super strong, your skin wasn't used to it, so they recommend, and I ended up emailing
my contact with the brand and said, hey, how am I supposed to use this?
She said, use it once a week for a while, then go to twice a week, and just kind of
build it up.
So, I'm now at twice a week, and I'm really taking it slow.
For that reason, I don't want to go through that again, but that's a very normal thing
with retinol, and they always say, you know, you've got to power through it, because it
really does work wonders, and eventually your skin won't be, it's eventually not going to
be drying, you know what I mean.
So, this is something that I will purchase again, I can tell you with certainty, my husband
uses it too, and he feels like he's noticing a difference, slowly but surely, like I said,
we've been using it like six or seven months.
I'll buy this again.
I really like it, and again, retinol is something that, if you're around my age or older, you
should be using.
It's expensive, it's going to be the most expensive thing you pay for.
I know that you can get certain versions of retinol, I am not a guru on this.
In fact, Hot and Flashy knows a lot about this here on YouTube, she is amazing, and
her skin is amazing.
She's done videos on this, so I'll link her channel if you're curious about retinols,
because I don't know enough to like speak from experience other than this.
But I know that you can get certain versions of it over the counter, or with a doctor's
prescription, you know, there are other versions you can get that maybe are cheaper.
I don't know, I don't know, but I know that I really like this.
My top three products that I would buy again that I have not found a dupe for, because
honestly, a lot of these I would buy again with my own money, but I feel like, you know,
like the vitamin C serum I love, but I already know of another version that's cheaper, so
I don't feel like I have to buy that one, even though I do love it.
So these are the three that I don't know of a perfect dupe for that I would buy again.
First one I would buy again is the Proteini Polypeptide Cream.
I just love the way my skin reacts to this, I love the way my skin looks when I'm using
this, and I just feel like it's doing a lot, and a lot more than what a lot of moisturizers
I typically use do.
Doing more than just moisturizing.
So I love this.
Another one I would repurchase is their TLC Framboose Glycolic Night Serum.
Again, I haven't tried that one from The Ordinary, so I can't speak to it, but I really, really
like what this is doing for my skin, and evening it out, and helping with fine lines, and aging,
and all of that.
And I just feel like my skin is so much brighter the next morning after I use this.
And I don't know if I mentioned, I use this probably three or four times a week.
And I think, I think the next one would be their Retinol Cream.
I know that's kind of a boring choice, but since science is showing that retinol works,
and so many people, you know, it's known that retinol works, this is my first foray.
So I'm like, I just want to stick with it, and just keep going, and see how, you know,
how well will it combat signs of aging, and fine lines, and things like that, as they
continue to appear as I get older, which is okay.
So that would be my third.
I know that was a lot.
I'll have information down below with prices, links, all of that, if you're interested in
any of this.
I really think this is a good brand to stand behind.
I just do.
I hope in a year, something doesn't come out, like something crazy they do, and then everyone's
canceling the brand.
That would suck.
Because this seems to be a really, really good brand, and really great products.
Let me know if you have affordable drugstore skincare recommendations.
Leave them down below.
I am planning for that video.
I'm kind of getting my shopping list together, of the products I'm going to use all together
for a complete drugstore skincare routine.
But that will be coming.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
I hope you found it helpful.
I know I probably said something that was incorrect, or something you disagree with,
or what.
I'm not a dermatologist.
Give me a break.
Just a normal person, trying some skincare and sharing my findings with you guys.
But I hope you subscribe for more beauty, skincare, lifestyle style videos.
Lifestyle style.
Very cute.
Anyway, other than that, I'll catch you guys in my next one.
Bye.
