Australis has released a NEW Skin Tint & I'm here to review it! I've been putting it the test and have gathered my thoughts 💭 Stay tuned for a demo, swatches, comparison to the Foundation and a GIVEAWAY!
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel,
and if you're new here, my name is Tanika,
and today I am going to be giving you a review
on the new Astralis Fresh and Flawless Skin Tint.
I will also be running a giveaway.
I have extras of the skin tint,
so all the information will be at the end of the video
if you want to enter.
All right, so the Astralis Fresh and Flawless Skin Tint.
This one comes in five shades and it retails for $17.95.
It claims to be lightweight on the skin,
give a medium coverage, and also leave a healthy glow.
Now, for reference, I have combination skin.
I do get a little oily throughout my T-zone
and dry around any breakouts,
but the rest of my skin, I would say, is quite normal.
All right, so let's get nice and close
so you can see me applying it.
This is what my skin is looking like at the moment.
You can see I've got a few little breakouts,
a little bit of redness.
I am going to start with the Fresh and Flawless Primer.
So this one was also released with the range
and this contains tea tree oil and vitamin E.
So I'm going to apply this throughout my T-zone.
I actually really like this primer.
I feel like it smooths out the skin nicely
and leaves quite a velvet,
like a velvety kind of touch to the skin.
So I have two of the five shades with me.
This is the Lightest Fair
and this is the one that I'll be using.
And then this is the Next Shade Up Natural.
Now, we all know that five shades just isn't enough.
I know some brands try and get away with it,
especially when it comes to skin tints,
by saying it can be sheared out
and used amongst varying skin tones,
like the L'Oreal Skin Tint,
which that clearly did not work.
I'm really not quite sure why Astralis
has only given us five shades in this range.
The Fresh and Flawless Foundation has way more than that.
So it's kind of disappointing to see
that that's all that's out at the moment.
So as I said, I'm going in with the Shade Fair.
The foundation does come in this squeezy tube
and you get 30 mils,
which is your average foundation size.
I'm going to put a little bit onto this palette here.
And then with a concealer brush,
I'm just going to spread it around and then blend it out.
With this one, I think you have to make sure
that your skin is very well hydrated before applying.
I do agree that it gives a medium coverage,
as you will see when I blend this out,
but I don't really agree with its claim of being lightweight.
It actually feels quite sticky on the skin,
which gives it more of a heavy feeling.
I do just like to go over it with my sponge
to get rid of any streaks from the brush.
I have tried it just using a sponge
and I think that the sponge soaks up too much product,
which is why I prefer a brush.
If I get a little bit closer,
you can even see on my chin here
that it just looks a little bit dry.
I have done my normal skincare routine this morning.
I have used moisturizer.
My skin is definitely hydrated
and I still find it just looks a little bit dry.
All right, so this is what one layout looks like.
It's definitely looking a lot more glowy on camera,
I think maybe because of all the lights,
because it's not as glowy as I thought it would be.
Here's what my forehead looks like too.
You can still see some of my blemishes.
I actually really like the coverage.
It's definitely medium.
You can go ahead and build it up,
but I find it starts to feel really heavy on the skin.
All right, I'm gonna go ahead
and finish the rest of my makeup
and then I'll be back to give you my final thoughts.
I'll compare it
to the Estrella's Fresh and Flawless Foundation
and I'll also give you some swatch comparisons.
All right, so my makeup is complete
and this is what the foundation is looking like.
If I bring it in here,
let's just take a look at my forehead.
So I have powdered forehead, nose,
under the eyes and around the mouth and chin.
I just feel like it looks heavy.
Like it doesn't look like a skin tint to me.
It looks very foundation-like.
I have used a bit of a glowy blush,
so I think that is where a lot of this glow is coming from,
including the lighting,
because I have tested this foundation out
on three other occasions and it has never looked glowy,
just on its own.
It's always the other products that I add on top.
It looks nice around this area.
I'm very happy with the coverage.
My chin does look a little dry,
but overall it looks good.
I'm just not 110% happy with the finish of this skin tint.
When it comes to longevity,
I do get around four to five hours of wear
and then it starts to break up around my chin
and it looks a little patchy.
Comparing this to the Estrella's
Fresh and Flawless Foundation,
I actually think that the foundation
is more lightweight and more long-lasting.
If I pop them on this palette here,
so let's look at the foundation.
See how it instantly starts running down the palette.
It's a very, very lightweight formula.
It feels weightless on the skin.
And then if I do the same with the skin tint,
it just sits there.
It's not running down the palette at all.
And I think that's the thing I dislike most about this
is that it feels thick and heavy on the skin.
If I did have to choose between the two,
I would prefer the foundation.
As I said, it's more lightweight.
It feels more comfortable on the skin.
There are more shades in the range
and it is very long lasting.
I did do a review on it a while ago.
I'll link it down below if you wanna watch it,
but oh my God, that is one of my favorite foundations.
Both of the products though,
I don't think work very well with dry skin.
So if you are going to use it,
make sure that your skin is very hydrated.
So here we have some swatches
starting with the Astralis Fresh and Flawless Foundation
in Fairest.
This is the Fresh and Flawless Skin Tint in Fair,
the shade I used today.
And this is the Skin Tint in Natural.
Here we have the Rimmel Kind and Free Skin Tint
in Rose Ivory.
This is the L'Oreal True Match Skin Tint in 0.5 to 2.
And this is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in 0.5.
Overall, the skin tint isn't something
that I would rush to use again.
Although it does have some good qualities,
I'm not overly obsessed with the formula.
It was really exciting to see Astralis
come out with a new release.
I feel like it has been a while.
They are one of my favorite Australian drugstore brands.
I did use the Glamour Palette on my eyes today
and also my favorite Girlboss Lipstick in Empower.
I will list all the makeup that I used
in the description box down below.
Let me know if you are going to try out this foundation.
What are your thoughts?
What is your skin type?
Do you think it's gonna work for you?

Now for the giveaway.
I know I didn't give it a rave review,
but if you still wanna try out the product for yourself,

because it's coming down to shades.
