George Washington - America's Founding Father

George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia on February 22, 1732 -and died at Mount Vernon in Virginia on December 14, 1799. Washington was a general, commander-in-chief of the colonies in the American War of Independence, slaveholder and the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797.
