The Scarred Land | Exploring a 150 Year Old Slate Quarry in Snowdonia
Something a little different from me today, but I have been wanting to re-learn about welsh history and today I dipped my toes into the history of slate here in Eryri/Snowdonia. I imagined how life must have been for the men who worked in the quarry and the labour that went into pulling all the slate from the hillside. It's incredible to try and visualise how it must have once looked. I have visited many quarries and abandoned mines over the years but I might start a series for this topic specifically, perhaps delving a little deeper into the history of individual quarries and mines. Let me know what you think!
Thanks for watching and all your continued support!
