Test driving the Nissan Sentra Nismo Package

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another video. Today we're driving the 2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo package. Nismo stands for Nissan Motorsport. I'm here with my buddy Turbo Turco and he's going to tell us all about how this car drives. We're in the 2017 Nismo Sentra. It is the CVT. We weren't graced with a manual transmission this time but you do have your Tiptronic mode so you can slap it into your manual mode on the fly. Very very nice car. The Sentra comes with 1.6 liter turbo. It's got 188 horsepower. Now what's good with the CVT is that you get boost later on in the rev range but it is really really explosive. So it just creeps up and then bang when that turbo kicks in and that boost is at its 15 psi the car just takes off. The Sentra seats are Alcantara. They are bucket seats as you can see. Those have the Nismo stitching on it. The steering wheel is wrapped where your hands should be with Alcantara as well. It's got the racing red stripe dead center in the steering wheel as well. So we're just cruising around here. The car seems good. Visibility is really well. It's your normal sedan and it's a sleeper. Nobody knows. Oh what's that? It's a Sentra. Almost 200 horsepower. Very stiff feeling but once you get on the highway it does loosen up a bit. It is brand new. Perfect for the track if that's what you're using it for. You've got an eco mode as well as a sport mode so you want to go for a cruise down the country or you know you're taking a road trip. You do have the eco button. Kind of keeps the revs low. Maximizes your fuel economy and then you hit the sport button and you unleash all 188 horsepower. So now that Nissan's not making the Juke after 2017 they had to find something to do with the engine. So this one basically has the Juke engine. They put it in this Nismo package. Sentra the 1.6 turbocharged as Tirco said. This nice carbon fiber looking trim here with the Alcantara it's just with the red stitching that's the that's when you know it's a Nismo. When you see the red accents, the Nismo badges, you can tell it's a Nismo. Plus you got those LEDs in the front there that automatically let you know that that car's a Nismo. It doesn't come with a sunroof which is okay with me because I mean I've never been a sunroof guy. You might be a sunroof person but I don't know when I want a sports car I want it to be stiff and sturdy and you know you don't get to take it a launcher with a with a roof to the track right. Other than that the suspension's great. Hugs corners real well even though it is a front-wheel drive car. It doesn't understeer too bad I mean from what you would expect from most front-wheel drive cars but I'm just impressed with the acceleration like once the turbo kicks in and the boost kicks in it really just just goes and I'm only at about half throttle right now so picked up pretty quickly for a slow 1.6 so it's got plenty of power to do the job you need it to do whether it's highway commutes in the city or you know you want to go to the track with some friends. It's a very comfortable ride here it's going to come with quite a few high-end features similar to the SR turbo package that I reviewed a few months ago. It's going to come with our Nissan Kinect and GPS navigation, our Cirrus Satellite XM, our front two Alcantara seats are heated as well.
