On Sept. 15, 2022, U.S. Coast Guard Sector North Bend rescued two fishermen and their cat in the Pacific Ocean.

A 49-foot fishing vessel caught fire approximately 50 nautical miles off the coast of Gold Beach, OR. An MH-65E Dolphin helicopter and it's crew was launched from Air Station North Bend to help.

A second MH-65E aircrew from U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay was also launched as backup due to the location.

The Humboldt aircrew arrived just after the North Bend aircrew hoisted all survivors, human and feline, from their life raft, and captured these images of the still-burning vessel.
