There's nothing worse than planning a theme park vacation.
You get hyped up about a ride. You really want to ride it. You get to the theme park
and it's closed. Well, I'm going to help you out with that
today. I have eight rides to warn you about here at Universal Orlando
that are closed or closing. Let's get to it.
Some of those rides are going to be closed temporarily. Some
permanently. We're going to break it down for you right now. We are going to start
at Islands of Adventure because they have two rides
that are currently closed and three that are about to close temporarily.
We'll start with the two rides that have been closed and then we'll move on to
the three rides that are going to temporarily close
and we'll give you the dates of those closures as well.
We will start in Seuss Landing in the Karasu Cell.
This attraction has been closed for a while. If you take the High in the Sky
trolley, you can see the repair work needed on the roof is pretty intense.
So we anticipate this ride to be down for a bit longer.
Universal has not given a date as far as when they expect it to reopen.
As soon as I find out that information, I will share it with you.
In the Lost Continent, Poseidon's Fury is the other attraction
that has been closed for a while and again Universal has not announced a
reopening date for it. I feel like this one will reopen before
the Karasu Cell because they have moved on to exterior
painting. So if I had to bet between the two, I'm
betting on Poseidon's Fury opening before Karasu Cell.
And now on to the rides that will be temporarily closing over the next couple
months. The Jurassic Park River Adventure,
otherwise known as Scream Splash Laugh on this channel,
has its closure dates listed as January 10th through January 28th.
And I did double check with a team member who works at the Jurassic Park
River Adventure. They confirmed it will be closed on
January 10th and that the last day it will be available to ride is January
9th. Fun ride and you don't get too wet on it.
But the whole Jurassic Park area, a lot of fun. I have a few different
Jurassic Park, Jurassic World type t-shirts. I will leave a link to those
t-shirts in the description box. All right the next ride closure, temporary
ride closure, I need to tell you about is in Toon Lagoon.
It is Ripsaw Falls. The closure dates I have for this
January 31st through February 25th.
Jurassic Park River Adventure, this one will get you
totally wet. Extremely wet on this one. Also in Toon Lagoon and also closing
temporarily is Popeyes and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges.
Be closing from February 25th through March 18th.
Just like Ripsaw Falls, Popeyes is a water ride
that will get you wet from head to toe. The only time this ride won't get you
that wet is during its annual maintenance time,
which as I mentioned is from February 25th
through March 18th. Otherwise, if you're here,
you're visiting, you're riding this, you will get wet. Soaking
wet. So all of these water rides here in Toon Lagoon
undergoing their usual annual maintenance. Universal always picks
the quote unquote cold months to do so. So if you're visiting
during the cold months of Florida, expect delays
and temporary closures with the water rides.
We are done at Islands of Adventure. Let's head over to Universal Studios
Florida. Into Universal Studios Florida we go. I have
three attractions to talk about in here. One, a temporary closing. The other two,
gone forever. Shrek 4D. Today currently a 60-minute
standby wait. Shrek 4D is closing forever
on January 10th. It will be replaced by a brand new attraction,
but the last day to experience this, and I just asked the team member,
the last day to experience Shrek 4D is January 9th.
There are more than a few theories as to what is going to replace
Shrek 4D. The one thing is certain. A lot of people think it's despicable
that it's being closed down forever. If you're a fan of Shrek 4D,
you definitely want to get here before January 10th,
and also you might want to step inside the old gift shop.
They do have a farewell souvenir t-shirt for sale.
The t-shirts are $27. That's the back of it. It says going far far away,
and then it has the attraction dates of 2003
through 2022, and the front. There's the front. $27.
What's going to happen with the Shrek Donkey Fiona meet and greet?
Personally, I kind of think it's going to be here for a while. I don't think it's
going to close down the way the attraction is
closing. It's not connected to the same building, so
I see no reason why they can't keep this meet and greet here.
I suppose I have to mention Fear Factor Live. It's been closed
at least two years, I think. If not two years, almost two years, and it feels like
a lifetime ago that this has actually been opened. The
funny thing is, unlike Shrek, Universal has yet to make
an official announcement about Fear Factor Live being closed
forever. They haven't said anything, though the
rumblings are it's going to make way for a new Harry
Potter VR attraction. All that is theoretical. What is a fact is,
it's not open now, and it won't be open. Well, I guess it's not a fact since they
haven't said anything, but it's a fact to me.
Fear Factor Live closed forever. Nikki did this once,
came in second. Good thing she did it then because she can't do it in the
future. The most interesting activity I've seen
here was actually my last update video where I saw members of the
running around in there checking things out.
To me, a clue that demolition could be on the horizon.
Not quite at the end yet, guys. You're almost there, though.
I want to remind you, click that subscribe button and that bell
notification button so you'll know when another video is
ready for you to view. And here's the big closure. Even though
it's temporary, this is the one that hurts the most.
The Mummy closing January 7th. Universal has not announced the reopening
date for The Mummy. They just say it's closing January 7th
through late summer. And then I would like to note,
the team members I spoke with today, they did say the last day to write it
is January 6th. And I have gotten conflicted information on that,
but today's team members, they're telling me the 6th
is the last day I can write it. So The Mummy has been open what,
17 or 18 years? And to my knowledge, it's never had like a major refurb done,
so it is due for one. This closing is unfortunate for those
visiting the first half of 2022, but sometimes that's life. Timing's
important. Okay guys, that's all the closure
information I have for you today. Hopefully the information didn't
disappoint you or like ruin your vacation, but you
really should know before you go and now you do.
And as always, don't miss the magic, don't miss the fun.
