Mexico is RICH Santa Fe, Mexico City
Hello guys! Welcome to a new video. Today we are in Santa Fe in Mexico City. You can see this
beautiful skyline behind us and we are excited to show you the area. It's very different from
downtown and like around where we live. We are starting this vlog in Parque La Mexicana. Santa
Fe is a district of Mexico City that almost feels like it's its own little town. So La Mexicana is
basically like the city park of Santa Fe. It's so beautiful. We are standing in front of this
little reservoir lake. It's very cute. The area is kind of like a business district area. I assume
a lot of people travel here for business purposes but there are also a lot of people who live here.
It's kind of like more of a higher-end community type vibe. Tons of apartments, not that many houses
and the houses that there are sell for over a million dollars. Yeah we'll post some examples
of those here if you don't believe us. It's definitely a high-end area. It's kind of small,
right? Yeah and I think what's kind of cool about it is it feels sort of like a suburban place but
it's all high-rises and it's very dense together. So it's like the word like the best part of
suburban living or the best part of city living you get Santa Fe. So I would say this is a perfect
area to come have a nice picnic. There is a lot of grassy area and in front of us right now there
are there's like a whole strip of restaurants that you can eat at or get something to go and
bring it over here to eat. I have been wanting to have a picnic but it's been kind of rainy.
Right now we're in the rain season so the ground is kind of wet so hopefully in another video we
can come have a picnic either here or somewhere else. Later in this video after we finish showing
you the park we are going to go to the mall here which is supposedly a huge huge mall. Some people
say it's the largest mall in Mexico. It's definitely one of the largest in Latin America.
So it's really exciting that we get to go there. I know there's some high-end stores so we're going
to check out what they've got there but for now we're going to enjoy Parque de Mexicana. Compared
to where we live in Mexico City it's nice and quiet. There's a there's a lot of open space.
You see a lot of people with their dogs walking around. It's a really quaint park and it's also
really nice. I would say that this is a pretty family-friendly place to live. I mean this park
is great for getting out and running, exercising, walking your dog or your children. There's also
private security here. There's security guards stationed around the park so you feel safe.
Yeah it's very cute. Tons of people with dogs. We are walking to the dog park right now which
is very cute. We brought Winnie here with us last time we were here and it was a lot of fun.
And as you might imagine with a place like this the coffee shop of choice is a Starbucks and
there's a Starbucks right here. Yes we had to go because Sergio had to go to the bathroom and it's
behind the Starbucks and you have to buy something to get changed to pay for the bathroom.
Yes good tip. Make sure you bring change because the bathrooms are five pesos so
you won't be able to go unless you have five pesos. Pro tip of somebody who always needs to
go to a public bathroom like me. Okay we are at the dog park now. It is behind me. It's a little bit
muddy so there's not really a lot of dogs out today but it is very cute. They have an obstacle
course for your dogs to go on. Even little like water pools for your dog to play in and get wet
since it's so hot out here all the time. And right beside the dog park is a petco where you can go and
get your dog washed after in case your dog gets dirty. So it is really hot. I'm ready to go get
into some air conditioning so let's head to the mall now. Another thing I wanted to mention is that
if you're interested in moving to Mexico City and you're attracted to somewhere that's more like
Polanco but maybe not exactly I would say Santa Fe is the closest thing to Polanco. The only thing
I'd add to that is that Santa Fe is literally as far on the outside of Mexico City as you can get
so if you need to commute regularly to the center of the city it's probably not a good idea but if
you can like work live and play in Santa Fe then this is a very comfortable place to live.
We have been exploring the mall a little bit and the name of the mall is Centro Santa Fe and it's
definitely huge although it's kind of interesting because since this is one of Mexico's original
malls it does kind of feel like those old American malls that we're used to. It feels a little bit
outdated it's definitely not the nicest mall we've been to. It has all the nice stores but Mexico just
has so many modern brand new malls that just look so stunning and I guess those will be outdated
one day too but it's just interesting it kind of it really does feel like we're in the U.S.
in this mall. It feels like we've been walking forever and apparently half of this mall or a
part of it it was like built onto more recently in like 2012. I think we've just come into the
section so this mall is huge like actually huge. We haven't reached the end of it and we're tired
already and we've only been on one floor so it goes like this and back and back and back like
it's like what four stories? It's insane. We just went into an entire grocery store Chedrauey
Selecto which so far has been the most exciting thing that we've found so I'm not sure what
exactly we're looking for just checking everything out. I do know that something that I thought was
interesting about the mall is that they have a Texas Roadhouse which is a restaurant in the U.S.
as well as a random restaurant yeah as well as a cheesecake factory and tons of American stores
that I'm like used to seeing. There's Bath and Body Works and etc you know. There's even a
movie theater in here Cinemex where you can go see a movie and hang out. I think we're actually
no we're not approaching it. Oh there's an apple store up there. There's an apple store.
Yeah this is Erdia Santa Fe. Okay this part we're approaching definitely looks way more
modern and new than the rest of the mall that we've seen. The lighting is also much better now.
To be completely honest with you we are a little bit lost and really tired so I think we're going
to call it quits here at the mall but there are some really cool things that we didn't get to look
at which was which are like the ice skating rink that a lot of people told us about and a Kidzania.
Kidzania is like a really cool place that's like a little world for children where they get to like
pretend like they're adults in the world. It's really really cool and that's here at the mall
too so there's just this this place is enormous you'll probably get lost but I guess that's kind
of the fun of it. With that being said let us know what you think about Santa Fe. It is certainly a
different experience from what we're used to. I don't know if we prefer it or not. I don't think
so honestly but it's still nice to get a little bit luxe every now and then. Yeah it's nice to
know that this is an option as well. So that is going to wrap up this video. Thank you guys so
much for watching. Our next video is going to be pretty funny pretty exciting so make sure you're
subscribed to our channel so you can see that. We post videos every Sunday and yeah we will see you next time. Bye!
