VILLAGERS TRYING TO CHASE AWAY ELEPHANTS FROM PADDY॥ ৰঙাজানৰ পথাৰৰ পৰা হাতীৰ জাক খেদাৰ মুহূৰ্ত

A big Elephant herd feasting on paddy in a tea garden in Golaghat ASSAM. This herd is affected by habitat loss due to human encroachment and deforestation and as a result they take shelter in tea gardens and raid paddy field nearby, where the engage in fierce conflict with villagers.

This herd especially is very unfortunate, they hv lost their forest for Refinary and Township as well as Tea gardens in last 5-6 decades. There are forest fragments, but they live mostly in tea gardens and go to crops nearby, and this kind of situations arise. Still most farmers are very tolerant and respect and love elephants inspite of losses, but there are some miscreants who poke them throw pebbles to get chased for fun.
