Hey, this is Mike. I'm in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, visiting East Coast Honda,
and I am super privileged to be able to show you this 2016 Honda Accord in the Touring trim level.
So it has tons and tons of goodies to show off. LED headlights, leather seats, it has the Android
smartphone integration in the touchscreen, all kinds of goodies, and this one has the V6 as well.
So let's go ahead and check it out. It has a really, I would say, perfect 19-inch,
perfectly sized 19-inch wheel with the two-tone black and then the alloy popping out there. And
then you can see it has the ventilated disc brakes here in the front and the solid disc
brakes in the back. Honda did a great, great job with the 2016 Accord, in my opinion, for sure.
The only thing I would add is tint to the glass right now. Let's take a look here in the front.
LED. This is one of the things that really got my attention when I saw this vehicle.
LED reflector headlights here in the front, and you have the low and high beams. You also have a
really neat LED daytime running light with a turn signal there, and then LED fog lights at the
bottom as well. So everything in the front is LED, that bright white LED, same color as the sun,
super bright white. Then you have that chrome across the front. Really awesome front end,
as you can probably tell. We also have the parking sensors here in the front as well.
There's little round circles there. Alright, so let's check it out in full detail.
This is what the key looks like. It's basically just a key fob with some buttons on it, and you
have the Honda emblem on the back. You also have the ability to take out an actual physical key
that's stored on the inside, but let's take a look at the buttons here. You have the lock and
unlock buttons there, the ability to open up the trunk. You also have a panic button here,
and the remote start button. So let's go ahead and make sure it's locked. The vehicle has to
be locked and secure, and you push and hold this button here, and it'll start up the V6 engine.
So after you've remote started the vehicle, if you want to just turn it off, you just push and
hold this button again, and it turns it off. So I'm going to put the key in my pocket,
and the vehicle is still locked, and all you have to do is put your hand behind the handle,
and it'll unlock the door. If you want to re-lock it, you just push this button.
So it's really intuitive, really easy to use with the proximity key system. So here's the inside.
It's a tan interior with the black accents, as well as the wood grain there. Pretty much
most everything is soft to the touch around your arms there, except for this area here,
which is a hard plastic. You have a bottle holder there. Really good looking interior.
So the power seats here on the passenger side are there, and you have the heated,
perforated leather seats with really comfortable bolsters. Very comfortable seats. You have to
just sit in them to see what I'm talking about. So let's go ahead and put this seat all the way
back so we can take a look at the legroom, which is really impressive looking to me.
And you have a lockable glove compartment. Opens up, and it's pretty much, you know,
pretty standard there as far as glove compartments go. You have some wood grain there on the dash.
So let's take a look here in the back, but before we do, I just want to show you the window sticker
in case you want to use the pause button. You can get some more information there.
Okay, so here in the back, there's the inside of the back door. It's all tan basically,
just like the other door, except for it has some different buttons here. You have the
heated seat controls for the back seats here on the door, and soft to the touch here and here,
pretty much like the front. So here's your threshold, and it's basically a bench seat,
but there is some little bit of bolsters here, here on the ends, and you have the ability to
fold these seats down in case you need some more cargo space in the trunk. So there's your legroom
with the front seat all the way back. Not too bad. A little bit of a hump here in the center,
but it's flat on top to help out with the center passenger's feet position. You have an armrest
with some cup holders there. Take a look here in the back of the vehicle, and it has a little bit
of a deck lid spoiler, just a little tiny one there on the back, which looks pretty cool.
Really awesome LED taillights back here. Dual exhaust for the V6 to breathe.
Parking sensors across the back. You also have a backup camera lens there in the center. Now,
you can use the key to pop the trunk, but you also have this button under here, pretty much
all the way in this position here on the right. You push that, and you're able to access the trunk,
and the trunk is pretty much massive back here. You have plenty of room, and also,
once you fold those seats down, you'll have even more room. So if you're picking up something and
you need to utilize some backseat space, see it's a 60-40 split there, so you can fold down one seat
or the other, or both, if you need to. And to fold them down, you have these handles here
and here, so you can unlatch them, and you walk around and fold the seat down, and that way you
can, it keeps people from gaining access to your trunk if they have access to the front of the
vehicle. Okay, so let's open this up, and there's your spare tire and tools, and you can also
utilize some of the space under here for some cargo area if you need to. So Honda used the
ACE body structure design in this vehicle, which allows for different types of metals to be used
for crumple zones, basically. So you have softer areas, and then you have more firmer areas,
depending on the type of steel used, and also the design, which allows for a really, really good
safety rating. So you'll notice that the fuel door is here on the driver's side,
which is very convenient. Opening that is right here. You can open up the trunk,
which can be locked if you need to, or you can push it down to open up the fuel door.
So here's your fuel door. Opens up, has that classic little string attached to it, and a
cool little place to put your cap when you're pumping gas so it doesn't dangle and scratch
your nice paint. To start the vehicle, all you have to have is the key inside somewhere, whether
it be in your pocket or cup holder or whatever. Put your foot on the brake and push this red
candy-like button. Take a look under the hood. So to open up the hood, there's a little latch
to the left of the emblem here in the front, and you just lift it up like so, and the hood will go
all the way up by itself, basically. So there's your engine. It's a V6, 3.5 liter V6,
i-VTEC direct injection engine, and it has 278 horsepower, and it's mated to a six-speed
automatic transmission. Now you'll notice it's covered up with plastic for the most part,
so you have to kind of look around the plastic to see the engine, but there is an engine under
there. So it's amazing. 278 horsepower. That's amazing. Now also, you'll see it has McPherson
struts here in the front, but it also has this crossbar connecting both of them to stabilize
the front end to keep it more stable and less vibration in the front end, and man, this is a
solid, solid feeling vehicle, and you got to take one for a test drive. Also, I want to mention that
it has the ability to run off of three cylinders when you don't need all the power of a V6.
It's called VCM, variable cylinder management. This thing has a really cool sound system.
Okay, here we are on the inside. 2016 Honda Accord in the Touring trim level.
Lots and lots of goodies in here. So let's go ahead and start over here on the driver's side
door. You have the presets here on the driver's seat. They're on the side there. You also have the
power windows, and both of them here in the front are automatic, so it's one touch up and down.
Door lock controls, your side mirror controls there. Okay, so down here we have some more
buttons here to the left of the steering wheel, and you have your econ mode, which will allow you
to get some better gas mileage, and then you have your road departure mitigation system,
which you can turn on and off right here, and this will alert you if you are swerving off the road,
basically, and also help you brake the vehicle. It'll apply braking and steering if need to,
if needed, in order to keep you from running off the road, which is pretty cool,
and also you have your parking sensors. You can turn those on and off. Traction control,
you can turn that off here, and this right here is what's called the collision mitigation braking
system, and it will, like say, if the sensors in the front of the vehicle detect that you're
actually going to hit something, it's going to apply the brakes to slow you down to mitigate
that crash, so really interesting safety feature right there. I mean, the vehicle keeps you from
running off the road, and it helps you lessen a crash if a crash is imminent. Okay, so let's take
a look here at the steering wheel. Lots and lots of buttons on the steering wheel, but it's a smooth
leather, stitched smooth leather steering wheel with some really, really comfort, uh,
comfortable feel to it. So you have this gloss black, I guess it's a piano black,
accents around the buttons. So here on the right is your cruise control, but it is not just
everyday normal cruise control. You turn it on here, and you can set it, but you also have
what's called adaptive cruise control, which will match the speed of the vehicle in front of you. So
like say you're going 70 miles an hour on the highway, and somebody in front of you is going
68. Well, it's going to slow you down to match their speed until they get out of the way.
That way you don't have to constantly, you know, change your speed on your cruise control. You
don't have to think about it, and you can adjust your following distance by pushing this button
here, and it will kind of show you here the different following distances available depending
on the situation. So you can cycle through that there. So this is a lane keeping assistant
button here, and you'll know it's on because you'll have these little lanes will show up there,
and this will keep you in your lane, and it'll actually help you steer back into your lane
if you are, you know, not paying attention or whatever. So that's another cool safety feature.
Okay, so let's look on this side. This is for your radio. You have your volume button up here,
change through the stations, change your audio source, which are plenty of them,
and this button here will cycle through different information. So like, say,
your information, your radio, and kind of like a home screen there. There's your radio there.
There is your information screen, which is basically a big clock and your time, but also
you can have a, basically a back background up there, which is really cool, and then your first,
this is kind of like your home screen, I guess, where it gives you a digital compass, what your
radio is doing. You also have a little trip there and the clock and all that too, and it gives you
your, like right now I have a phone paired. It gives me the battery life, the signal strength,
and all that stuff there as well on the top. All right, so that's what that button does.
It kind of cycles through all those different features. So down here is your Bluetooth controls,
and you can answer a call, hang up. You can also push this button to call, make a call. So I could
push that button and say, call John Vincent, and he's in my phone book, so it'll call him right up
just by pushing that button there, and there's other things you can do too, like go to specific
addresses on the navigation system or go to different, like radio stations, stuff like that,
so the voice recognition system is very handy when it comes to keeping your hands on the wheel
and eyes on the road. So these buttons right here correspond with this screen here in the center of
the gauges. So you can see the gauges, the front and center is your speedometer, which goes up to
160 miles an hour. To the left is your RPMs. To the right is your engine temperature and your
fuel gauge. So pushing these buttons here up and down changes the information there in the center.
So I'm going to cycle through. This says the average speed, elapsed time, range, and then you
have an average miles per gallon and a real-time miles per gallon as you drive. A little bar will
start moving around. A blank screen, vehicle settings, oil life, and then it goes back to
average speed. So you kind of cycle through those different settings there in the center
depending on what your needs are. Headlight controls are over here. You have an automatic,
you have off parking lights, automatic, and headlights for your awesome LED headlights,
and then your fog lights are controlled here. Windshield wiper controls are there on the right.
So let's take a look over here. This is your kind of information screen like I showed you before,
down here is your touch screen. So you have a volume here on the actual side of the screen.
You have some soft touch buttons, and you can hit your home button. So on the home screen,
there's lots of different buttons here. Let's go ahead and start with the navigation,
and you can see it has the different options that you have. You can put in a specific address.
You can put in your save your home address, that kind of stuff. You can search for gas stations,
restaurants, and all that stuff if you want to do that. I'm going to go back out of that,
so we can actually see what the map looks like, which looks pretty good to me. Let's go back home,
and then your phone. Let's see what the phone looks like. I do have a phone paired now just
to show you, and you see there's different presets. I don't really have any favorites
set up, but you can check out my call history here. So I can go to recent calls right here,
and I can choose people that I call frequently. Also, I can go to my phone book and make calls
there, and the whole time I see what my battery life is and my signal strength there. All right,
so settings. There's all kinds of different settings in here that you can change your
clock, audio, Bluetooth. You can pair multiple phones, camera settings. I mean, just endless
there. Not even going to go too far into that. Smartphone connection. This is separate from your
Bluetooth connection. This is actually Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, and once you plug in your
phone in the USB system, it'll just pop up here, and you'll be able to access all the features of
that. Then your audio. This is tons of different ways to play music through this sound system.
So right now, I have it set up to play music through my Bluetooth audio through my cell phone,
but I can hit source, and I can change it to FM, AM, satellite radio. It has a CD player,
which is kind of hidden right up in here. Then you have your USB, USB iPod, Pandora, cell phone,
USB, and then audio apps. This would be through the connection through like, say,
AHA and stuff like that. Let's go back home. Information. This would be like, go into there.
This would be like your trip computer and stuff like that. Let's take a look at the trip computer,
see what it looks like. So you can see your current drive, and then you have a history
over here. Lots of information there. Then Honda Link. This is an actual app that you would have
on your cell phone, which gives you additional information, uses your cell phone for all kinds
of different information. I don't have that set up now. So let's go ahead and swipe. You can swipe
just like a cell phone. Let's take a look at the app list right there. This is where you have access
to a browser and install things on the USB. Different settings. You also have a calculator.
You can add widgets. This is all like an Android type device. If you're familiar with Android,
this will look familiar. Okay, so down here is your climate control. You have a dual zone
climate control, so you can change your temperature. Right now they're synced.
You can unsync them by pushing that button, or you can just start adjusting the passenger side.
You have your fan speed here, where you want the air to blow, your air conditioning,
you recirculate the air, your rear defroster, which will also turn on your side
mirror defrosters, and then your front defroster there as well. So right here is where you'll find
your USB port for hooking up your cell phone, or you can use it of course it charges your cell phone
too. Let's take a look at this pocket here and see how my phone fits in there. It's kind of
it goes in there, but it doesn't snap close all the way. Now I do have a large cell phone,
so it is a Samsung Note 4, which is pretty large. Let's see if it fits down here. Yeah,
it fits down there pretty good. So there's your 12 volt power supply. You notice it has a little
place for the wires to go in and out of this compartment, so you can shut it. Heated seat
controls, high and low for the driver and passenger seats. So here's your shifter. Let's
go ahead and put it in reverse, so we can take a look at the backup camera. So the backup camera
shows up here, and there's different options. You have a wide angle view, more of a straight on view,
and then a straight down view. So you can see directly down behind the vehicle, which is
awesome. Let's go to neutral, drive, and then there's your sport mode, and this will emphasize
performance over fuel economy. Now I also want to mention, if you look here on the side mirror,
you'll notice that the very edge is a little bit distorted. That is to allow you to see in
your blind spot here on the driver's side, which is a really good safety feature. It looks a little
weird at first, but once you get used to it, it's awesome. But now the other side doesn't
have that. It doesn't have that on the mirror, but it does have the ability to see in your blind
spot on the right side. You can do it two ways. One is you can push this button, and it will pop
a camera view of the right side of the vehicle directly into your blind spot, which is really
awesome. And the camera is located just below that side mirror. The other way to do it is to
just turn your turn signal on like so, and it pops up there. So really handy feature there.
You can see directly in your blind spot, so with the backup camera and the sensors and everything,
shouldn't hit anything. There's your parking brake there, and then you have some cup holders,
flat on one side, so you can rest your cell phone in there if you wanted to.
So here's your armrest, and this lifts up, and you have another USB port and a power supply,
12 volt, and a little place to put some junk there. Here's your rear view mirror, and it's an
auto dim rear view mirror, and you can see it's actually auto dimming right now because I have
the shade over the light sensor. Up here we have some tap lights, like so. You have your garage
door opener controls there, and you have the ability to have the interior lights turn on with
the door or not. Place to put your shades is here, and it's pretty good size. You can put your
Hollywood sunglasses in there or something. Let's take a look at the visors. They have mirrors and
lights. Same thing on that side, but we have a sunroof right up here. Let's take a look at that.
So the sunroof opens up. It has a shade that blocks 100% of the light. Hopefully you can see
that. I'm kind of aiming the camera now, and so you can see the shade opens up. You have the ability
to tilt it up like so, or you can open it up all the way like that, and then this one in particular
has this little wind guard there. Of course you can close it up if you don't want to use it.
Let's take a look at the visibility in the back. You can see really good. You got the side glass,
the rear glass is really big, and also the headrests don't get in the way too much,
which with all the safety features and cameras and sensors and all that stuff,
should help out quite a lot. All right, so there you have it. 2016 Honda Accord
in the Touring trim level with the V6. This is a super nice car. You need to take one for a
test drive. I'm really, really, really impressed with it. So thank you for watching, and thank you
to East Coast Honda for allowing me to show off an awesome car, and I'll see you next time.
