Teaching my HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH how to drive STICK!
You just spit your gum out in front of like thousands of people it's
littering isn't it? Gum? Do you have like an intro? I do have an intro, I just don't want to do it in front of you.
Should I talk to the camera or what? This is gonna be our main camera. So if I'm
talking? Either way, I'll interchange between the scenes. Should we say like why we know each
call you? They call me Stan. All right, so Stan the moto man over here. I've known him
since eighth grade. We took band together, we were huge band geeks. And my favorite memory of him,
are you ready? He wore this all white suit or like track suit to high school and he thought he was
the ---- and it was it was a good look. Okay, you also forgot to add that people called me a
backstreet boy after that. And he had the bangs. I had bangs. I had like a mushroom cut back then.
Oh, yeah, it was the whole package. It was great. Perfect. Am I supposed to tell them your more my
favorite story? Oh, okay. I've never heard this one. No, I don't know any actually. Okay, well,
I guess I'm not very memorable. Okay, I got one. I got one. It's not like the best one. That's the
one I can only I can think of it. Back in eighth grade. I asked out this girl. She rejected me. It
was the first time I ever had the guts to ask out a girl. I gave her like a big ass blue. It was
like, like probably bigger than you. Yeah, it's big. It's a big blue bunny. And then she rejected
it. And it found its new home in her home. And it's still there to this day. But to be fair, okay,
this is how it happened. Right? So I'm pretty sure he asked her out in like the basketball
court or something. And she rejected him and she left it outside. And I think what were we like
ninth grade? Yeah. Yeah. So I felt bad. I was like, Hey, you know, he's definitely spent a lot
of money on this gift. I shouldn't just leave it outside. So I took it and I put it in his locker.
Why I had your locker combo. I don't even know. Yeah, cuz it was in your locker. Anyway, he ended
up giving it to me. And it sat on a shelf for 10 years. Until finally I was cleaning out. I was
gonna get rid of it. And I gave it to my dogs instead. So they nap with it every night. Yeah.
So that's what 15 years. Yeah, it's still alive. Yeah, still alive. All right. So let's do this.
Okay, so today, this is gonna be the first time I've ever featured my car in a video. And I figured
a good way to introduce my car. This is a 2017 Subaru WRX is to have a girl drive it. And she
wants to learn how to drive stick today. She more or less has like the concept. Oh, I don't know,
like, it's been a while. Okay. I literally drove around the parking lot with my brother. Well,
I'll try to teach you as best as I can. Perfect. Take it easy. Okay, so first off, you got to
adjust the steering wheel to your height. Oh, and then adjust the mirrors. I didn't know you could
change the steering. Yes, you can. So do I need to be able to put the clutch all the way to the
floor? Like how far? Yes. I'm gonna have to be really, really close. Yeah, that's fine. That's
fine. How tall are you? I'm five feet tall. I'm screwing up all your settings. It's okay. All
right. Safety first, guys. Safety first. I already got mine on. Okay, do you know how to do a push
start? You press the button. You press the button. What do you have to press down at the same time?
The brake and the clutch. There you go. Okay. All right. Are you ready? Does this have, like,
airbags? Am I gonna die? So the most important part first when you're learning how to drive a
standard car is you want to know where the friction point of the clutch is. Yes. Where it engages.
Also, you want to get comfortable with that spot because we're literally just going to be feathering
the clutch this entire time. You're not going to put any gas yet. Okay. Okay, so you're just
going to concentrate on figuring out where the clutch engages. Okay. Okay, so first off,
e-brake is still on. Okay. Pull it down and then you got to go into first. So clutch in all the
way. Go first gear. Yeah. You want to release the clutch until it engages and then be able to fully
release the clutch. Okay. And then we'll just be coasting on first. So how do I fully release the
clutch? You just do it really, really slowly. Once it starts engaging, once you pick up speed,
then you can release the clutch. So I don't need to press the gas right now? No. Okay,
so I can let go now? Not yet. A little bit slower and you should be able to let go now.
Okay. Right? Yeah. So now you can just simply put on gas. Okay. If you really wanted to.
All right. All right. Okay. So you didn't stall. First time. Good job. Okay. So I'm doing good
so far. You're doing good so far. All right. So what do you want me to do? Make a full stop now.
Okay. Let's start that over again. Go back to neutral. Neutral. Go back to the first, clutch
and then release without any gas. How'd that feel? That's good. Better, right? Yeah. So once
you have an understanding of where the clutch engages, then you can start putting in gas. Do
you feel like you already know where the friction point is? I think so. Okay. So first off, let's
get out of the truck's way over here. And then you're going to try that again, but then this
time you're going to put gas in while releasing the clutch. Oh no, you stalled. Okay. Okay. That's
fine. Clutch in all the way, second gear, release the clutch,
a little more gas. You're going to go around the roundabout. So should I shift down?
Or can you stay in second? You can stay in second, yeah. Because if you were going this
slow in first, you'd be jerking around a lot. So let's make it right again. Oh wait, stop,
stop, stop. Clutch in all the way, clutch in all the way. Oh, I knew it. I didn't catch it. I wasn't
paying attention. I knew it. Okay. Wait, is that two? Yeah, that's two. Okay. So let's do this.
Okay. So clutch in, second gear.
Pretty good. You can go third gear now. We should have got bubble tea is what we should have got.
Want to drive to bubble tea? Yeah. Okay. Let's do it. Give me directions. I'm bad. Okay. And then
you also have to tell me when to shift because maybe I don't know yet. Okay. I wish I could add
some kind of like glare to this video other than just like three point of views. Like what kind of
like maybe you sing or like confess. Me, me sing. You're a good singer. Confess something. Okay.
I think like eighth or ninth grade, I had a crush on him. What? Yeah. No way. Fun, right? There's
no way you would have liked me with my mushroom cut. Hey. No way. Don't bash the mushroom cut.
No, the thing is like Julia rejected me because I didn't look presentable to her. She didn't like me
because maybe of the way I looked in grade eight. And then after I cut my hair in grade nine,
she had a crush on me. That's so shallow. And ladies and gentlemen, I like to think I'm not
a shallow person. I mean, okay, let's be real. I mean, let's not say anything that we're going to
like regret, but like you said something earlier today that I think proves I'm not a shallow
person. Oh God. This is stressful. Oh no. People behind us. Oh no. It's stressing me out. It's
that's my bad. Sorry. People's maybe after high school, people are a little less shallow because
everyone just wants to be with a nice person. Yeah. Yeah. At least girls do. Right. I think,
I think girls would prefer to say they like nice guys, but tell like, let me tell you,
they end up with a shitty people first. They got to go through a really shitty relationship
and then they're going to be like, ah, you know what? I just want a nice person.
Let's go forward. Shut the **** up.
Sorry. I panic. No, no. I also panic because this ******* bitch behind me being a dick.
Sorry. That's all right. That's all right. That's normal. I have to learn how to park your car. I
don't know how big your car is. Hey, that's what she said. All right. That's fine. Am I in? Is it
it's in? That's what she said. Good. Good. Good. That was good. Okay. We're good. Well,
that was like five stars. Five or six stars. But some of it was cause I was panicking cause
there was somebody behind me and then I like didn't know what to do. That's,
that's how it is on the road though. Okay. Okay. Let's get some bubble tea.
She is going to have to play this game that I do with my friends. Did you invent this game?
That I invented? No. So basically you're going to have to close your eyes, right? You're going
to try to poke the straw through first try. I'm going to, I'm going to move it. I'm going to make
a sound and just based off the sound, use your senses to think of where the bubble tea might be.
Stab it through with a straw. Okay. Ready? Hold on, hold on. Ready?
Oh, that was close. Wait, I'll tell you what, okay? You stabbed my hand.
Go. Oh, that was aggressive. You got some on your hand. That was pretty good. Yummy.
So I just realized after we parked, literally like a couple of centimeters of space.
It's all good. It didn't scrape. Yeah, it's good. It's good. I didn't even hear it scrape at all.
This is the first time I'm showing my car on my vlog. It's a 2017 Subaru WRX like I said earlier.
Hey, if I stay at this distance, it looks like really clean white.
I know I got a couple of right here. I tried popping it this morning.
Yeah. I don't think I can't think of any other, like anything on the top of my head. I'm like,
I have memories about you. Let me think of another one. You surprisingly knew more detail
about the rabbit than I did. Well, because I'm the one that saw everything, right?
Yeah. It must've been cringy. You're probably cringing. Although maybe if you'd like sang to
her, she would have been like, I couldn't sing back then. What? How could you say you couldn't
sing? I couldn't sing. I think you could always sing. I wasn't, I wasn't tone deaf. I was like
swooning over Stanley singing in high school. Yeah. But then I felt like that was like,
I got typecasted. Everybody was just like, Hey, can you sing to me? Or like, Hey, can you play
guitar for me? He serenaded me. I heard that a lot. Serenade. We sang together, didn't we?
Yeah. We have a video. We have a video. Oh, of the talent show. Yeah. This is the video of Lucky.
We sang Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colby Clay. Okay. You have to share it with me. I think
Alyana took it. I don't know if it's still on YouTube, but Alyana took the video.
I was wearing that like fluorescent yellow hat. What gear am I even in? Is that bad?
You know what it is? I keep going back to the steering wheel and I really should just keep my
foot here. I mean my hand. You're actually not supposed to leave your hand on the shifter either.
Oh, you're not. Oh no. What are you doing? You're freaking me out.
Look at that. I did it. I did the thing. I'll stop here for a bit. Sure. Go on the playground.
Okay. Nostalgia. I wish I wore pants. Why? So I could go on the playground. Why can't you go on
the playground like that? Because I have to. No pants. What are those? What are those? She
cheated on me for six months. What? Yeah. Like she legit had like a relationship. Yeah. Legit.
She was living a double life while dating me. No. Weren't you living with her? I was living in her
basement. Yeah. Yeah. Like weren't you guys like living together? Yeah. Well, I mean she wasn't
living downstairs, but she was in the same house. I know, but how? That's freaking ballsy. Ballsy.
Very ballsy. She met the guy on Tinder. So she was on Tinder while she was dating you? I just
want a nice person to be nice to me. Is that too much to ask? Like, why is that so hard? I had a
crush on you in grade eight. Did you? Yeah. You're the first girl I ever had a crush on in high school. No!
Before Julia. That's so cute. Yeah. Have you ever asked me out? What the ****? You were dating Francis
at the time. I told Francis to **** off. Well, you and I were in band in grade eight. I remember the first day
of band. I was like, whoa, this girl is cute. Instantly I had a crush on you. And then maybe
like a couple of days later, I found out you had a boyfriend. When was it that we went to Lizette's
party and we played Twister? Was that ninth grade or 10th grade? Because that's when I had a crush on you.
That was ninth grade. And I think you gave me massage. I don't remember that, but I might have. Yeah. It sounds
like me. No, I totally remember that. That's when I had a crush on you. Whenever that party was at Lizette's.
You're saying your crush started at that party? No, I had a crush on you already. Oh, okay. And then
that happened. So that massage must have felt like 10 times better. I was like dying.
Good to know. What are you doing next week? Nothing. Oh, right. I work from home now. Perfect.
My schedule is like super random. I'm generally free like Mondays and Thursdays after 1pm.
So let's do this. Next Thursday. And then we'll take the bike out after. Okay. Next Thursday.
Let's start early. Okay. Let me just double check my calendar that I don't have anything else.
Hey, my life is busy too. I wasn't saying you wasn't. Okay. Well, this is the end of the video, but
let me introduce you to Angeline. Yes. That's me. That's A-N-G-E-L-I-N-E.
Underscore A-K-A-T-E on Instagram. Oh, there it is. You know. Pop it. It's right above your head.
What? All right. She doesn't get it. Anyways, see you guys in the next one. Peace.
