So, hello everybody! Yes, it is Cupra time again and you have already seen by the
outside wrap that this is a very very special version. Cupra Germany has
wrapped this car and also put a few mods on it and we of course want to test how
fast it goes today. I mean, first of all, we have the upped power upgrade to 360
HP. This is actually the new power upgrade. There were some debates about
upped power upgrades in the past but this one is a revised version which also
should help to make the shifts better and really put all the power free onto
the asphalt. 360 HP, as said, 450 Nm of torque. Of course,
everything goes through the front wheels because we have the hatch version with
the 7-speed DSG right here and that means, of course, you need to warm up the
really get a good 0-100 time in it. There's also an upped lowered suspension
on this car which I think really fits well to the overall character of the
car. Also, the handling is very nice. We will experience that in just a second
and, yeah, without further talking, I guess it's time to first of all test the
0-100 on the country road and I will actually do a try with launch
control and without launch control, see if that makes any difference and, on the
other hand, also test the 100-200 later on on the autobahn which is, of course, a
lot more important because there we can really see how the power is being freed
up.
5.9 and it still struggles for traction with sport mode. You know what? Let's do
it without launch control because we might have a better time for the first,
let's say, 0-30 km per hour because after that it's just simply amazing
how the car pulls. We knew that, we knew that, that front-wheel cars with 360 HP,
it's always hard to get the power down.
So, one more try, 0-100, this time I will try it out without launch control and
with everything turned on. So, just CUPRA mode, no traction control, sport, more or
less just like it is, foot from the brake, heart on the throttle. Oh my
goodness, this is fast! 5.6 seconds, funny enough. Yeah, in this case, at least, under
those conditions, the launch control didn't make you faster, the traction
control in sport didn't make you faster, but just regular setting, 5.6 something.
Very nice! One more run, 100-200. That was fast! I have to slightly correct the
time, but this is a 10.8, I guess, corrected, something like that. 100-200,
that is quite strong. I have to do some comparisons with cars which
are the same speed, but for 360 HP front-wheel drive, that's already very
good. That is probably, if I'm not mistaking, faster than a Golf R and we
know that this 320 HP engine delivers a lot more than 320. So, yeah, for that one,
well done, UPSPORT's line, I would say. That's, that's impressive and you really
need temperature in the car and in the tyres. It gets better from time to time.
It's no power degradation based on temperature, but it's, yeah, it's getting
faster the more runs you do, strangely enough. Must be around 1.3, a second and a
half faster than the stock car. So, yeah, noticeable difference, not only from a
subjective feeling, but also, of course, on the race box, quite good, honestly.
