Saving the Last Tigers of Asia

With the Indochinese tiger facing extinction in 2015, Global Conservation began working with The Thai Government and WCS Thailand to protect the few remaining animals.

After five years of fighting rosewood and wildlife poachers, known as the "Bloodwood War," forest devastation in Thap Lan World Heritage has nearly ceased. In recent months, camera trap sightings of the rare tiger have surfaced in the Khao Yai forest complex in the jungles of southern Thailand.

This video shows the Thap Lan rangers at work along with WCS Thailand officials as they patrol and protect the World Heritage site. Elements of Global Conservation's "Global Park Defense" system are shown in use.

Rare footage of wild Indochinese tigers recently captured inside the national park boundaries is shown along with aerial footage of the area.
