The Historic Hotel Del Coronado Is a Must-See When Visiting San Diego
The Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888, always captures the heart with its beautiful Victorian design. Because of its location right on the beach on Coronado Island, it’s also commonly known as the Coronado Beach Hotel.
I've taken many walks on this beach and bike rides around the island and usually stop at the Hotel Del for a refreshment.
During the holidays they have a magnificent Christmas tree in the lobby, and it's become a tradition for me every year to go see it. I updated an earlier version of this video to include footage of the 2022 Christmas tree in the Hotel lobby. I know you'll love it!
The Hotel Del, located at 1500 Orange Ave., Coronado, CA 92118, has a rich history of hosting celebrities, royalty, U.S. Presidents, and beach-loving guests for generations. Built in 1888 by Elisha Babcock, Jr., and Hampton L. Story, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977, the historic beach resort is a San Diego icon.

Across the water, the Point Loma peninsula juts out. It's where the first European explorers, led by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, landed on the West coast in 1542.
