Hi guys!
Welcome to my channel.
My name is Lily and today's video is going to be really fun.
So today I'm sharing with you guys some at home activities that you can do with your
kids.
A lot of these activities are actually Montessori inspired so they're educational but also very
fun.
And the best part is that you don't need to go to the store to buy anything.
Most of the things that you're going to need for these activities are either found in your
backyard or around your house.
I didn't want you guys spending any money so if you don't have anything that I use,
you can really switch it off for whatever you have around your house.
And this video is in collaboration with my friend Noelle.
So I'm going to be leaving all of her information down below.
So make sure that you head to her channel after you're done watching this video.
Let's start with the activities.
The first one is scavenger hunt.
This was actually Bella's favorite activity.
Bella is two years old.
She's very into rocks.
I wanted her to be able to play outside so I just thought this would be perfect.
Okay so I grabbed these rocks from outside and I have five different colors so I'm going
to go ahead and paint them, let them dry, and then we're going to use these for our
activity.
We're starting off with the rocks in here.
Hubby's going to go put them out and hide them all over.
And then we have these little markers so that she can come put the rocks in the right place
and then she's learning what the colors are.
Ready, set, go!
Go find the colors.
Go put it with the right color.
Which one's the right color?
Good job!
Okay, go find some more.
That one too.
Hey, what about that one in your hand?
Right there.
Okay, go get some more.
One, two, three, four, and this one is, no, here we have four, and one more is five.
Five!
Okay, let's paint it green.
The next one is making a nature butterfly.
We like to go on nature walks as much as possible, and lately when we do end up going, we try
to bring a bucket with us and we collect all the things that we think are cool.
It's almost like another scavenger hunt.
We try to look for flowers, a leaf, maybe a stick that looks really cool.
And so with everything that we collected, we made a butterfly.
What you're going to need for this is some nature trushers, some contact paper, and cardboard.
Draw your butterfly, cut it out, and put contact paper on the back, and then you're ready to play.
Can you twirl?
Pretty.
Another activity is creating a car garage.
Bella really likes cars.
What you're going to need for this is some colorful tape, some sharpie, cars obviously, and cardboard.
You're going to mark up your parking spots, and you can make this as cool as you want.
After this, I added a road and some pink tape to make it cute.
I'm going to number each car so she knows how to recognize the number and put it in the right spot.
What number do you have?
Number five!
We're going to go on the road, and we're going to find the same one.
So you see? Look at this. This is number five. Which one looks like that one?
Number five. Look at this number right here.
Which one do you see that looks like that one?
Almost. Look at the number.
Which one looks like it?
This is a five.
Look at that one. Does that look the same?
Yeah, it's the same. Good job!
Okay, so hopefully by now you've noticed that I've been trying to incorporate all the things that my daughter likes into games,
which is honestly the best thing that you can ever do.
Playing is the best way to learn, so adding the things that your toddler likes into any learning activity is always going to be a win-win.
This next activity is actually very calming.
Realistically, we always need one of these in our lives.
And I used the same materials to do two different activities all in one.
I have these jars. These have little pom-poms and these have stars.
And what I'm going to do, I'm going to dump them all out.
So the first thing that we're going to do is put all the stars on this side and the pom-poms on this side.
Another thing that you can do is ask them to color match.
So basically, I would mix all these up and then ask her to put all the orange together, the yellow, the blue, and like that.
Next activity. This is a color domino.
Since Bella is only two years old, I try to make this as easy as possible.
But you can honestly modify this game so that it's age appropriate for your toddler.
For this game, I'm going to be using some leftover wood and some dot markers.
Okay, now put it close to it so it's touching, so the pink is touching.
Like this, okay?
Oh, wait, no, no, no. Just like this.
Now we have to, what color is this?
Find one that has purple.
Okay, we have to make sure the purples are touching.
And we'll turn it like that.
Now what color is that?
Yellow?
Okay, let's touch the yellow.
And we're learning to clean up around here.
We are teaching Bella to pick up after she's done.
So we added two new games, two new activities to what we're doing.
The first one has to do with sweeping, but it's actually really fun.
For this activity, you're going to need some tape.
Make sure it's colorful.
And you can use whatever on the floor.
I'm using the same pom-poms.
And basically what you're going to do is let them put it all inside the square.
And the other one has to do with washing, but you would be surprised at how fun it is if you allow them to enjoy it.
What you're going to need for this is a bin, some water, some baby soap, a washcloth, and some utensils.
So what I'm going to do is give her some plates, cups, probably some spoons.
But if you don't want them to use this, you can also switch this off for some other toys.
I really hope she will look back at this when she's a teenager because she really enjoyed this activity.
So anyway, those were my activities.
They were pretty basic, but very fun.
And again, you can switch any of those materials for whatever you have at home.
The goal is just to have fun.
So hopefully you liked this video.
And if you did, please give it a thumbs up.
And subscribe to my channel if you haven't.
And go watch Noelle's video because hers is going to be really fun.
Thank you guys. Bye!
