The saline solution should be sprayed directly onto the weeds. Avoid soaking the roots with the mixture to protect the soil and surrounding plants. Salt water can be used using a spray bottle, or it can be poured from a container. If there are other plants nearby, water them generously after applying the herbicide to the weeds to flush out the salt water from seeping into the surrounding soil.
Will saltwater kill weeds?
We'll make a strong mixture of saltwater.
We'll dissolve this rock salt in the water.
We'll add the saltwater to a sprayer.
We'll only spray it on one section of grass so we can see its effectiveness.
It's been a few days and I'm actually surprised how well it worked.
There's still some green in here, but for the most part, it knocked everything out.
Now this was just a concentration of saltwater.
Over here was saltwater, vinegar, and soap.
But it appears that the salt did pretty much the same thing.
Because this worked so well, I'm going to go ahead and give it a second dose and spray down some additional stuff.
I'll spray down the entire area again.
Saltwater is about as low cost as I know.
I'm actually surprised how well it worked.
I actually didn't think it was going to work as well as it did.
I do find that it works a little better if you cut the grass, make it as short as you possibly can.
It seems like you want to spray this stuff down when there's a hot sun and not going to be some rain.
I bought this broken bag of salt for about $2.
I just put it in a spackle bucket, crush it up a bit, and stir it.
I don't want any big pieces in the sprayer, so I just run it through a rag.
Then I just scoop up the saltwater and pour it into the filter.
