#MarblePolishing - Polishing Onyx Marble Floor in New York 2021

In this video, I am polishing a white onyx with gray marbling. We always start with prepping the surrounding areas by putting down drop cloths and masking tapes to protect the customers home. The first step is to hone the marble floor with diamond abrasives. The first grit is to remove the damage from the onyx and the subsequent grits are to bring the marble higher and higher in grits, until the floor is ready for the final polish. This process is very similar to sanding wood, but instead of using sand paper on stone, we use diamond abrasives as shown in the video. The last step is to polish the marble and bring the onyx back to its original shiny lustrous form and make it glow. After the polish, we wash the marble and clean it with neutral floor cleaner to remove acidity and bring the marble into a neutral state. The cleaning of the marble is best achieved with a wet vac and a proper squeegee tool to make sure every drop of dirty water is extracted from the marble floor. The next step is to tight mop the floor. Tight mopping is a process of mopping the marble floor with a slightly damp mop head. Finally, we finish the process by completely detailing the surrounding areas and getting the approval of the owner of the house.
