Hey co-friends, I'm Bianca Renee and you're watching Bianca Renee Today.
And today I had to come back out of my maternity leave to show you
the burgundy braids. I mean, what do we think? I put a poll on Instagram and you
guys voted that I do this color next time. So this
is my hairstyle challenge of this week because I've never done a colored braid
before. So I'm glad I'm trying something new. It's definitely been really fun.
It's been great for maternity leave because I haven't had to do my hair.
But I wanted to come on here to show you how I wash
my scalp basically while I have a protective style. So today I'm going to
show you how I went from this crusty flaky looking scalp
to this nice clean refreshed and cooled scalp
using all products from Sally Beauty. As some of you may know, I am officially
part of the Sally Crew. So today's video is sponsored by Sally
Beauty and that's where I got all the products that I'm using today.
So without further ado, let's get started. So let's go ahead and look at the before.
I've had these braids for about a month. I haven't done much to them because I
have been taking care of my newborn so they've been very neglected to be honest.
But let's get a close-up of this like build-up happening.
Got some build-up on the ends, some flakes. It's time to wash.
Yeah. And now I'm going to grab the Kenvee
Scalp Bliss Soothing Scalp Purifying Foam Treatment.
You guys have seen me use this before but it does work great and it's kind of
like something that doesn't really require
too much of a serious rinse out. I'm just going to
rub it onto my scalp. Any flaky or dry areas. You could use any type of
clarifying shampoo you want. I just really like how this foam feels on my
scalp. And it's literally made to get rid of
hair flakes, excessive build-up, and scalp irritation.
So that's what we need.
So once you get all the areas that need some build-up removal, it says you can
five to seven minutes and then we're going to rinse it out.
You also can grab a towel and kind of just rub
any build-up off. Now to rinse this out you can
get in the shower and just rinse all of your hair.
But this part of the hair does not really need to be rinsed and it's just
going to be really heavy and take forever to dry.
So I'd recommend just putting your head in the sink and focusing just on your
scalp or if you have a shower head that like detaches.
Just try to get the scalp and not all of your hair because this
is mostly braid hair so you don't have to
really wash it. So I'm gonna go stick my head in the sink and I'll be right back.
Okay now that I've washed just my scalp this part of my hair got wet but all
this is dry. Um you could obviously let it air dry
if it's bugging you. If you're in a rush you could just hit it with a blow dryer
real quick. What is this? This is the new ION
Luxe Supercharge hair dryer. You know I can't wait to dry this on my curls but
for now we can just use the actual blow dryer part
and just hit the wet top of my head.
All right that was very powerful so I'm excited to use this.
Now this step isn't necessarily necessary in the daytime but if you are
washing your hair at night I would recommend making sure your hair is dry
before you go to sleep because if you wrap it
it's gonna smell in the morning so don't go to bed with a wet head.
All right my scalp is already feeling amazing but now for the main product
I've been excited to share with you is the new Matrix Total Results
Instacure Tension Reliever. This is for scalp ease. It has a little
nozzle so we can go right down the scalp and it has no
sulfates, no parabens, no silicone and it's infused with biotin,
avocado oil and liquid protein. Relieves the feeling of tension and
protectives and tight hairstyles. They leave in formula with refreshing
cooling sensation which is always amazing when you have braids.
Works on all hair types and textures to soothe and nourish dry
roots. So since this is called a tension reliever you know when you first get
your braids done and it's super tight this will help relieve that tension on
your scalp. My hair is a little bit more lived in
but I could always use some scalp soothing and cooling.
Oh the cooling sensation has just kicked in.
Oh that feels good. A little goes a long way so you don't even have to do like
the whole line down your scalp. You could just use a
couple drops like it says. It feels so much better. Oh yeah my scalp
feels amazing right now. I feel that cooling
tingling sensation. It makes me so mad every time I like put off
washing my scalp because we tend to be so lazy when we have a protective style
but take the time to wash your scalp because that is the most important part
of our hair growth hair retention and what's going to matter once we take out
our braids. So I definitely recommend this new
matrix tension reliever. Make sure you get it at
Sally Beauty. So now let me show you the after.
Nice and clean. No more flakes. No more build up. No more dryness.
It feels amazing. So now that my scalp is nice and clean I do want to try
something that I just recently saw on YouTube to make
my growth look a little less grown out. So all you gotta do is get a
crochet tool or hook and then you're going to
stick your stick the hook inside of the
new growth. Make sure that this is open. Then you grab the end of your hair.
Close the hook. Pull it through.
And I just kind of made like a tighter knot situation.
So I'm gonna do it again. This time I'm gonna go this way.
Attach the end of my braid. Close it. Pull it through.
Wow. Look at that. That is way tighter than before.
This can definitely make you stretch your
braids for like another two weeks at least.
So let's keep doing this and let me give credit where credit is due.
I learned this from a YouTube video by Iamanayako. I'll make sure to link her
video in my description box. Thank you for this tip because this
is awesome.
Add a little bit of my Eco Styling Gel to lay down these edges.
And there you have it. Completely refreshed.
Retwisted without having to re-braid. My scalp feels amazingly clean
and I am just good to go. I mean look at the after.
I know you see it. If you enjoyed this video make sure to give me a thumbs up
and subscribe. I post new videos usually every Sunday but I'm still
kind of on maternity leave right now. I have another newborn that I'm definitely
enjoying spending my time with. But I wanted to make sure to get this video
out while I still had my braids. You can get all of these braid products.
Everything that I use in this video is available at Sallie Beauty. They've got
everything that you need for your curls or your braids.
So I will make sure to link both of these products in the description box
