Stark erkältet, todmüde und zerschunden bin ich heute vormittag aus der Stellung zurückgekehrt. Deinen lieben Brief vom 26. und die Karte vom 25. fand ich vor. Da ich ein bisschen Fieber habe - infolge Überanstrengung. Ich habe zwei schwere Nächte hinter mir - lege mich gleich zu Bett.

I came back from my emplacement this morning badly cold, dead tired and battered. I found your dear letter of the 26th and the card of the 25th. Since I have a little fever - due to overexertion.
