VLOG 14: DUBAI SUMMERS

Apparently I am back on my feet. Hey y'all, welcome back to another bi-weekly vlog. Anyways, so today is Wednesday. It's Wednesday the... I don't know, I'll put the date up on the screen. I'm back on my feet y'all. So last time y'all seen me was on Monday because I did not vlog yesterday. I was... Oh wait, I did. Did I? I did. No? I don't know. But yesterday I was chilling, just waiting for this abscess to drain. I'm sitting now. I'm sitting on my butt now, so that's progress. I still think there is still a lot of abscess to be drained out, but it's not sore, it's not as much as before. And I did not have to do surgery, so I'm going to let it, like I said, continuously drain on its own. I'm trying to push some out as well to some areas that probably doesn't get a lot of clenching. Because I still have a sore, of course that open wound, you know, I can feel it, it's right in between my butt cheeks. So I can definitely feel it, but it's not sore as in like, oh my goodness, I can't sit, I can barely walk. Obviously I was dancing, so I'm fine, but I can still feel the liquid running down my butt crack. It's currently 11, so I have not eaten yet. Um, let me finish gathering, assembling. So I'm going to finish this, and then I'm going to eat. Like, I need to eat. How do you guys feel about me speaking more Creole on here? Because I can't speak Creole. And sometimes, I can't even move my butt. I should do a whole topic about that. Oh guys, oh guys, oh guys. Is it this weekend that I'm doing a get ready with me chit chat? I'm kind of excited about that series, because I'll be needing to get the watches. I have not left my house and gone somewhere properly since the 24th, I remember, because that's when I went out. So your girl needs to get out and explore. Anywho, let me go, I'll talk to you guys later. Y'all, sometimes, I be living here, and I'm like, I feel like I'm in a whole nother world. Because the things that happen here, don't happen often. Like, I don't know, I can't say anywhere else, but where I be at on the east coast. That's all I gotta say. On the east coast of the US, it don't be happening. The whole city is purple. No lie. Not the clouds, the sky is straight purple. This is so cool. I wish I could show y'all my view. There are times where you have the gradient colors, it's called the sky colors. You have the purple, the pink, the white, it's gradient like that. But nah, the entire sky is purple. Where they do that at? I had to drop in real quick to let y'all know. Good morning. Happy Friday. Alright guys, so as you can see, I'm in workout gear. Okay, so my abscess is not completely healed. The layer of my skin is closed, which is a bad thing. Because there's still some pus in there that needs to come out. So I did go to the pharmacy and get this antibiotics to put on it three times a day. I did that yesterday. I mean, I'm fine. There's no pain at all. It's just I need everything to drain. So she said it's supposed to dry everything up. I don't know. Only time will tell. This is only going to be day two. So maybe just take a little bit longer to do what it needs to do. I'm still going to be taking my antibiotics. I forgot to take it yesterday. But other than that, I did my hour walk. Actually, I'm switching it from an hour to 10,000 steps minimum. What I did when I walked today. Because like I said, I accumulate so much sweat outside because it's just so hot. What I do now is I put this towel right here. Because that's where the bacterias are forming. That's where they're going. That's where the anal abscess is forming. Like in the crack of my butt. So in order for me to prevent any extra sweat going down there. And just doing it again. I'm going to always put a towel right there. So I can just catch as much sweat as possible while it's going down my back. So the two places I sweat the most besides my face. But like on my body body is right there on a crack of my back. Because all the sweat is just going down my back. And then right in the front of my crotch. This, I can't help. Like it's always going to sweat. It's just like your underarm. Wherever there is hair that is accumulating. That is there. The sweat glands is going to activate even more. That's why we have to be careful. And we have to make sure we are washing. And not only that, we are waxing. Anyways, I'm going to hurry up and make my breakfast. Y'all know I cannot stay like this for long. And hop in the shower and just get my day started. Good morning. Welcome back. Y'all, I was today years old when I found out. Vegetable oil does not come from not one single vegetable. What? I never knew that. So many unnecessary, unnatural, like bad stuff that we put in our body on a regular. I mean granted, now we're in this society. I feel like it's hard for us to go completely clean. Because who knows what's going on in the grocery store. Not in the grocery store itself. But like in the manufacturing that gives the grocery store the fruits and vegetables. I don't know you guys, I've been really on this health journey. I feel like the older I get, the more interested I'm into it. I'm being picky with what I put in my mouth. What I put on my skin. What I put in my hair. Who I interact with. Who takes my time. I'm being picky with what I watch. I'm being picky with what I consume. That's why I'm not on Instagram that much. Well, I'm not on TikTok at all. Speaking of TikTok, have y'all seen that TikTok documentary? It was very interesting. Very interesting. I'm not on really any platform that doesn't give valuable information. Literally, I'm just so picky. And I feel like I have the right to be. I've always been picky first of all. A lot of things we don't have to consume and we don't realize a lot of things takes our energy. Takes our energy in a negative way. So when you eliminate all of the BS, a lot of the BS out here. Y'all. Good afternoon. Y'all, I have a love-hate relationship when it comes to Dubai summer. It is so hot. When my brother was here, man, I'm like, oh, this is hot. Whatever. Nah, it's hot now. It is July. It is hot up in here. Hot. When you're outside as a human, I be feeling like a snake sometimes and be trying to look for the nearest shade. I normally walk to the mall and to the grocery store and stuff like that. I'm at a point where I just get my stuff ordered. If I need anything big, I just get it ordered from the mall. Even though I go out there. It's just too hot because by the time I want to eat, it's midday. The sun is not down yet. Because I eat around 6 o'clock. If I want to cook something that's going to be around 4, 5. It is too hot. That's that. I love Dubai summer because it is the slow days. The slow season. You get everything at a discount. You get everything done quickly. You get everything done with better service. It's literally like they're catering to you only because it is so slow during this time. Everybody leaves UAE during the summer as their vacation. You know how people leave for the winter to come to hot places. Well, it's so hot here. They leave Dubai to go to places that are a little bit. It's still probably going to be hot but a little bit cooler. It feels like a desert. Now, it feels like a desert. The thing is, I don't have to worry about that. I have a roof over my head. I really don't feel the heat unless I'm out during this time. Currently, it's 12 o'clock. It's right before 1230, I think. I was like, let me go ahead and start putting this place together a little bit. They're not going to be my visitors. I have friends that are coming into town this weekend. I got in a cab to go to the rug place. The same rug place I got this rug from. I told them I was going to hit them up back later so I could do my room. When I really know what wall color paint I was going to choose, and how my bed was going to look, and how my little decorating of my makeup stand area, vanity, was going to look. Now that all of that is complete, I'm ready to put in a rug. I know what rug I want. They're going to do the same thing they did for the living room. They're going to do the home trial, bring four different pieces that I chose, and try them out to see which ones I like. I already have an idea of which one I want. I started to order it online, but then I realized Virgin Mobile turned my phone off again. Virgin, come on. I went over there myself. I could still look at the stuff in person because I wanted to see them. This is where the summer service comes in. When I ordered my carpet in March, February. When I ordered it in February, when I first moved in here, I think it took them a week or so to deliver the carpet. Because it's February, anything before March and after October is hype season. They had a lot of orders. I was pushed out when it comes to delivery. I walked in there today and they said, when do you want to deliver? I said, as soon as possible. They said, okay, today? I was like, yes, sir, today. Because Olayna said, get it by tomorrow. I was thinking, maybe they're going to set something up for tomorrow. He said, not today. I said, oh. He's like, okay, what time? How early can you come today? It was like 11.40 when we were talking. I remember he said, it's basically 12. We can come at 1. I said, yes. Let's go. Let's do this. This is why I love this summer. Everything is so quick. It's not that many orders coming in. It's not that many people trying to get stuff done here at once. I was like, all right, bet. Let me just go back home. What I did was, I started to walk up and down the plaza. The way Dubai is, all of the same things are in the same area. I don't know why they do that. You know how sometimes you go to an area, there's probably going to be one sub shop, one pizza shop, one paint shop for that area. No. In their plazas, it'd be all the lighting places right back to back to each other. It'd be all the carpet places. Next door to each other. I was going to go walk it up and down so I could look for my TV console, but it was too damn hot outside. I was like, I can't do this. I literally felt like I was about to pass out. I was like, let me just go back to the rug place, use their Wi-Fi because Virgin Mobile was messing with my phone data. Use their Wi-Fi so I could call a cab so I could come back here, wait for them, and then get my rug. I went back, I sat down. My behind is talking too. The man that was helping me, I was like, yo, it's too hot out there. When I first came, I just told him this whole story. He was like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He said, did you call a cab? I was like, oh, I'm about to call one. Let me use the Wi-Fi. He said, you know what? We could just drop you off. I said, oh, wait. Drop me off with the rugs now? He's like, no. There's going to be another team but we have a company car. We could just drop you off home. I said, but I don't got no cash. He said, no, no, no. It's fine. Not for any profit. We could just take you home. I was glad I kept, even though my house is literally 10, 12 minutes away from there. I was grateful. He's like, yeah. It's one of those minivans that they could just put the rug in the back. He's like, it's that vehicle if you don't mind. I was like, a car is a car. A free ride is a free ride. You know how high gas prices out there are? I don't care. I got up in the van and one of the sales associates drove me home. He was like, okay, where do you live? No, he already knew because Buddy told him. He already knew what delivery was going to happen that day. I think I was the only delivery for the day. He was like, which building? I told him my building. He was like, I think I delivered your rug. I was like, I did. Were you with the Asian guy? I just remember the Asian guy. I didn't remember the other dude. I was like, were you with the Asian guy? He was like, I don't understand. Sometimes the language barrier, it would be really there. I was like, you know what? I still got the video. I pulled up the video. I was like, oh, this is you with the Asian guy. He was like, yeah, I thought I remember you buying the big rug for your living room. I was like, oh, nice to see you again. He was doing the in the office sales. He was like, yeah, we got three teams that rotate. Later on, another team would come and deliver your stuff. It won't be me. I was like, oh, well, thanks for the ride. Thanks for the free ride. That's a coincidence that you're the one who installed or put down my rug. I was like, I told y'all. Once I figured out what I was going to do with my bedroom, I was going to call you guys back up. He was like, yeah, you did. That was that. That was so sweet that I was going to make a video for this vlog this weekend until these people come to put the carpet down. That would take a nap because that's some kind of high key training. I'll probably see y'all later. This one, if I hit the wall, where is it going to? It's smaller, right? This is 250. The next up. After the 250, what's the next? 250 after that? After 250. The next one is 3 by 4. Okay. We are putting the width this side. Yeah. So the next one will be 250 by 350. I think that's the one I need. Because this one, yeah, this one's too short. So if you hit on the wall, it will break it. So you have only space this much. No, but okay, but this one is going to be still like under, you understand? I don't want it. I want it to be out just a little bit. So if I get the 350, this is the length. And the width is going to be 250. Yes. I'd rather it like that. This is going to be too small. If you want, if you're hitting on the wall so you're going to pull Yeah. That's what I want. Because I can't do it for just that. Sorry. I need the bigger one. Sure. So they're going to come back around three o'clock to fit that. In the meantime, I could either go get my nails done or go look at the consoles. I think I'm going to go look at the consoles. So let me go do that. And let's go get this console. Let's finish this. I'm looking to see a cleaner surface. I could come and clean my balcony because it is so dusty. Let me go grab a cab before because they all just line up. They ain't got nothing to do today. That parking lot been full with cabs all day. So let me go grab one of the people and let me go. To the wall. Thank you. I'll fix it. The quickest furniture shopping I've ever done. Probably like I already knew what I was. Well, I didn't know exactly what they had in store. I had somewhat of an idea because I looked online first. But as soon as I walk in, I see what I like. But the thing is, it was $2,500 for it. And I'm like, and that was on sale. So I was like, I didn't want to pay $2,500. But he ended up bringing it down some more to I think it's like $2,100 or $2,200 for it. So it comes tomorrow. Like I told you guys, it is summertime. They quick with it. So I literally got here. They got here before me, like a second before me. When I was in the cab coming, I see that car outside. I was like, oh, but I seen them taking the rug out. So I was like, oh, just in time. But by the time I got up here, they literally just literally just knocked on the door. So I was like, I'm just in time, which is good because I'll feel so bad if they're just standing there and they cannot contact me because Virgin Mobile. I'm loving this. I wanted to do something loud and bold on the floor and it goes so well with the wall and the rug has accents of the green in it. So this is a very, very good choice. I'm excited, y'all. No shame. I don't know if they know what it was, but my vibrator was on the bed, just chilling. You know, they had to take the mattress off. So I'm looking like, I didn't say sorry. I didn't say excuse. I didn't say nothing. I just took this up and put it away. But I'm looking like, let me get this stuff out of y'all way real quick. Do you want me to move the TV? Move the TV? Yeah. My TV stand is finally here. It got installed just now. My house is coming along slowly but surely, but it's coming along. This little corner right here is giving me vibes. It's reminding me of my old place in Atlanta. It's starting to feel a little bit like home. Just a little bit. In person, look. This thing is taller than me. In person, it looks good. It looks so good. It probably looks so tiny on camera, but it's massive because this is a 65 inch, so I had to make sure I found a credenza. Even though they considered this as a sideboard slash credenza buffet. Yes. That's what they considered this as, but I've been using those type of stuff for my TV stands because I hate the TV stands they got now. It's like to the floor. No, I don't like my TV down there. It needs to be up. Up. When it's up and it's up and it's up and it's stuck. It needs to be up. Sit here and watch my TV. All day long watching the TV on this couch because this is a visiting couch. All right, so I got something from Marina Home. Keep in mind, I was not planning on purchasing anything in Dubai mall. I was not planning on shopping at all. I specifically went to go get my phone fixed. If you guys didn't know, the couches I purchased are from Marina Home. What else I got from Marina Home? Oh, I think that's it. I really do like this store. It is quite on the expensive side, but I feel like it's worth it. So as you guys saw yesterday, I got my TV stand, so I need something to decorate it. I was thinking about getting probably like ceramic type built, like bases, vase, ceramic, or I don't know, those oblong type shape vases to put on there, but I was like, I don't want that. I don't want the stone finish because this is already cement finish, and then I have some cement finish plant pots as well. I was like, I want something different. So when I walk up in Marina Home, they always have some really nice things. My mind just starts being so creative when I walk into there. I really love that store. I don't know if you guys know this, but I actually like playing chess, and I do have a chess set now in Orlando because I couldn't bring it here because it's all glass. So I actually like chess, and I think this will be really cute pieces. It's all five chess pieces that's in this black, silver-ish type of color. They had two colors, this color and just plain silver. I don't think silver would've went well in here. Aren't these the cutest? Since my battery's about to die, I will show you guys how they look on a mini phone video. It's something different, and I do wanna bring my chess board here, but it's all glass. So if I bring it, I will have to bring it on the plane with me. I could even just put it as a centerpiece in the middle up here. It will really be real cute. What's hot? Huh? What's hot? It's hot? It is currently 12.52 on a Monday, so this is the last day of the vlog. Let's get into this real quick before I close this vlog out because I don't think I'm coming back later on. Oh my goodness, I look so much smaller. My face is looking small. It's my neck bone. Let me get into what happened. I ordered a cleaner to come, and honestly, it was just for her to clean the balcony. That's it because we've been having sandstorms after sandstorms, and during the summertime, that's when the dust really accumulates on the balcony. It has been some months since I've been out there. Dust accumulates so fast. You could definitely see the thick layer of sand dust on everything. It's a lot. I've cleaned back there before, and it's not necessary for me to do. I ordered a cleaner just to clean the balcony. When she came, I was like, all right, it's probably going to take her a good 30 minutes to finish it because it's not going to take long. The minimum you can schedule them is two hours. I was like, it's probably going to take her a good 30 minutes. Let me go ahead and shower. I just got done eating breakfast. Let me go ahead and shower while she is cleaning the balcony so I'm not just sitting here. I'm glad I did, first of all, because I didn't know she was going to use up the entire two hours because when you schedule them for general cleaning, they will clean your entire house within that two hours. I wasn't aware of that because next thing I know, when I got out of the shower, she was just getting done with the balcony. I was like, okay, good. Then I could just say to her, bye, thank you. Next thing I know, the lady is wiping down my TV console. I was like, wait. I let her wipe. Next thing you know, the lady got the little vacuum thing and just vacuuming particles and dust off of my couch. I was like, oh, she's cleaning the whole house. Bad. I just let her clean the whole house. The thing is, my house isn't dirty. I literally just cleaned it. The only thing that really needed to be cleaned was the balcony. That's why I hired her to come and clean. I was like, you know what? Since she's cleaning the living room and stuff, let me go ahead and take this time to fix my bed because I just got my sheets in. I was fixing my bed. Next thing you know, the lady is in the kitchen washing my dishes. I was like, oh, bad because I just made breakfast and I didn't even wash my dishes. Mopped the floor. I have fingerprints on the microwave. She wiped the fingerprints off. She cleaned the stove. She cleans inside the stove, the oven. Cleaned my bathroom. I was like, there's nothing to be cleaning every day. I cleaned everything. I cleaned the shower. I cleaned the toilet. I mopped. There was nothing to be cleaned, but she wiped down. It's funny because I thought what I paid was only for the balcony, but trust me, y'all, it was not much. I had a discount because it's summertime and summertime is slow season. They try to get a whole bunch of deals out there so they can get a lot more work in. I did had a discount with 50 dirhams off, which was a pretty good deal. My final that I paid, y'all, in dirhams, because I tipped her because what I paid didn't make any sense for her to clean the whole house. I was like, what? I only thought it was the balcony. That's how little I paid for the cleaning. I'm like, good thing I had cash because I normally don't carry cash with me at all. The tip I gave her was almost damn near half of what they charged me. I don't know what percent of what they charged me she's going to get, but I tipped her a good little penny and she was not expecting it at all. Normally, when it comes to majority of the people here, they don't expect it because tipping is not something they do here. They definitely are implementing it way more, I've noticed, in certain areas and certain restaurants, especially the more Americanized, Westernized restaurants. Yesterday, I went to the mall to go get my phone fixed. I ended up eating at the timeout market. They have tips on their machines before you type in, before you actually pay if you wanted to tip. There are places here that are definitely implementing tips. It's still not mandatory, but it's like gratuity. It's not like US where it's like, are you going to? It's just more of, we know you all do it, so we're going to do it too. That's how it really is. Sometimes I tip, sometimes I don't. It's just the way I feel. If I brought you in my house to do something, then I'm going to tip you. That's how I feel. If I go out, it just depends on how I feel and to be honest. What was funny is when I was laughing while she was cleaning, I was like, let me go ahead and look at her profile to see her reviews. She has really good reviews. In her profile, it definitely says, my native language is English and I can communicate fluently in English. Baby girl, we tried. We tried. It's not. Because we tried to communicate in English. It's a little difficult. I will try to see if I can add her as a favorite. It could just be the same person. Probably instead of doing all of that, I'll probably teach her how to water my plants and spray these plants when she comes. Maybe on Sundays. Not every Sunday. Probably, I don't know. When I feel like it's needed, I'll probably have her come and help me clean. There are some things I don't want her to clean. I didn't know she was going to clean my couch like that. You could tell where she vacuumed. You could see the dust was on there. That one is good. There are some things I don't want her to touch, like my dishes. Not everybody has the same cleaning strategies. Pay attention to details when it comes to cleaning dishes. I'm very picky with that. I don't use the dishwasher. I hand wash. That's how picky I am. I make sure my dishes are clean. I don't care for her to wash my dishes. I could do that. Everything else, dishes, and my bed. That's why I did my bed. I want to make my bed. I don't want nobody touching my sheets, but me. Those are the only two. Everything else, you can clean, baby girl. Clean. Anyways, let me hurry up and leave y'all. My camera is about to die.
