How to make a live edge table.

*We found this bit of unwanted wood gathering dust in the corner of a hardware store.
*First we measure it and cut it to size.
*Then we levelled it with a router sled.
*Next Mikeal filled in cracks with epoxy and a butterfly stitching technique. Which I wish we had recorded!
*Next the table was stained to give it an even colour.
*Then stained with three thin coats of varnish.

Now we've seen the steps we feel empowered to make something like this ourselves. We are very lucky to have a neighbour who is a master craftsman and wood work enthusiast. The process of bus building has taught us a lot about learning from the experts and when to attempt something yourself. Learning from an expert is definitely easier and youtube is a great way to teach yourself.
