周璇在40年代“上海七大歌星”中排名第一，她一生灌錄了200多首歌曲，是作品最多的歌星，並享有“金嗓子”的稱號。周璇是利用話筒唱歌的鼻祖，她不僅開創了把嘴唇貼緊話筒的演唱方式，還把這種會話式的、自然發聲的方法運用到了舞台上。以往歌手都是拉開嗓子大聲唱，而周璇卻巧妙地利用話筒輕輕地唱，她唱歌講究字正腔圓、柔和纏綿和娓娓動聽。這首歌是1947年電影《歌女之歌》的插曲《知音何處尋》。

In the 1940’s, Zhou Xuan was the top singer among the “Seven Greatest Singers of Shanghai”. She recorded over 200 songs and was the most prolific singer of all. She was also nicknamed “Golden Tongue”. As a forerunner of the “singing with mic” style, she not only developed the singing method where the singer’s lips would touch the microphone, but also was the first to use her natural speaking voice on stage. Before then, vocal performances always involved big voices. Taking advantage of the microphone, Zhou Xuan produced soft and clear singing voice that was very appealing to the audience. This is the theme song from a 1947 film called “Song of the Singing Girl”. The song title is “Where Can I Find my Soulmate”.
