Powerful Testimony By Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff Against AB 392
Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff Julie Robertson's powerful testimony in opposition to outrageous Assembly Bill 392 which would open the door to second guessing and micro managing the use of deadly force standards. Deputy Sheriff Robertson shares an incident where she lost her partner Mark Stasyuk and how proposed changes would have made her second guess her instincts, risking additional loss of life, including her own. At the end of the testimony a member (presumably) in support of AB 392 is heard booing her. San Diego Republicans stand with our law enforcement community in opposing it and call on Assemblywoman Shirley Weber to withdraw her bill.
Part of her testimony reads: “At one point during the firefight, the gunman began shooting with only his back exposed to me,” Robertson said during testimony on Tuesday. “I recall in that moment thinking, ‘If I were to shoot him in the back, I would be the next officer in the news being scrutinized for my actions — despite the fact that he just murdered my partner, shot one of the store clerks, and also shot me.’”
