UNHINGED: Idaho Democrat Laurene Sorensen Calls a Faith Group "Xenophobic," Her Opponent a Nazi
Democrat Laurene Sorensen, who's running for the Idaho State House in District 5, spoke at a forum for Democratic candidates hosted by the radical left-wing Democratic Socialists of America in Moscow last night, Nov. 1. In her remarks, Sorensen bashed Idaho as "a punchline," said a certain "faith group" in Idaho - which she didn't name - "takes care of its own" and "leads to xenophobia," and said when she hears her Republican opponent talk of being born in Idaho and being a fifth-generation Idahoan she thinks, "Sieg Heil" -- which was the traditional German Nazi salute. These comments are beyond outrageous. Not only Sorensen but all Idaho Democrats, and all the special interest groups that are working on behalf of Sorensen's campaign, need to condemn them unequivocally. This kind of bigoted rhetoric has no place in Idaho. It is an insult to all Idahoans. There were three other Democratic candidates sitting next to Sorensen as she made these horrible comments. We don't know if they condemned them at the time, but they certainly need to.
