Uninvented stories.
Swastika was not invented by Hitler.
Dear friends, I want to share with you a story about evolution
that happened in my worldview about the symbol of the swastika.
When I was in the second or third grade, I don't remember how,
I learned about this symbol.
Probably one of the children in our yard showed me its outlines.
I didn't know how to ask smart questions yet,
so I didn't ask what kind of thing it is and where its roots grow from.
I remember that I didn't immediately learn how to draw a swastika correctly.
I mainly trained in the yard on the asphalt with white chalk,
until one of the adults strictly, strictly forbidden me to draw it,
without explaining why.
Years passed.
I was already allowed to watch films about the war.
And there, among the most terrible villains, fascists,
turned out to be the symbol of the swastika.
True, a little different.
Always black and standing at the tip of the corner,
as if on one leg and as if about to fall.
Years passed.
And I, like all Soviet citizens, was traumatized in my subconscious.
There is nothing evil in the Hitler swastika.
When I got acquainted with the Falun Dafa, another name for Falun Gong,
having already passed the fourth decade of my life,
I was very confused by the fact that the symbol of the teaching
turned out to be such a bright colored image,
in the center of which the swastika is embossed.
To be honest, the association of the symbol of the swastika
with evil in my consciousness was so ingrained
that it was even impossible for me to pronounce the word swastika without trembling.
Therefore, I spoke in Chinese for a long time.
Gradually, and with difficulty, from my subconscious,
this association was eradicated.
The knowledge I have acquired has helped me a lot.
I will gladly share it with you.
The symbol of the swastika has been known to humanity for more than 10,000 years.
It turns out that wherever it is,
from the West to the East, from palaces to huts,
it is a sign of life, movement of the Universe, eternal bliss and harmony.
Native American Indians call the swastika a rotating log.
Navajo Indians have a legend about the journey of an exile in a hollow log
as a result of numerous sufferings achieved in the flourishing and abundant land.
But after World War II, Navajo Indians, Hopi, Apache,
stopped embroidering the swastika on their clothes, daily necessities and art.
They did not want to associate it with Nazi evil.
But the thousand-year-old tradition took over
and they began to use the symbol of the swastika again in recent years,
as an Indian icon.
In Ancient Greece and early Christians,
the symbol of the swastika was called gamma dion.
It was made up of four Greek letters gamma,
combined with a single center.
The swastika was also used by the ancient Minoans and Etruscans.
Early Christians used the gamma dion as a secret symbol
during the persecution and repression of the Roman Empire.
Some scientists believe that the gamma dion symbolizes Jesus.
In addition, the symbol protected early Christians from the spirits of the dead
when they hid from persecution in the catacombs.
The Buddhist cross Vanya.
In Chinese, the swastika sounds Vanya.
It is the most important attribute in the Buddhist teaching.
Vanya is the seal of the heart of the Buddha.
According to legend, the symbol of Vanya is depicted in the center of the chest,
in the place of the heart.
It is known that Hitler was sent to Tibet on a secret expedition,
which brought a small statue of Buddha with a swastika to Germany.
It was then that the Nazis came up with the idea
to slightly modify the sacred symbol and assign it to themselves.
The devil, unlike the Buddha, is capable of treachery.
The black swastika at an angle was strengthened like a fascist symbol.
But the heart of the Buddha could not be torn out by the Nazis.
In Buddhism, the symbol Vanya also means the liberation of the spirit.
Vanya is multicolored in Buddhism, and each color has a special meaning.
Blue Vanya is the eternal benevolence of heaven.
Yellow Vanya is the eternal prosperity.
Red Vanya is the boundless kindness of Buddha.
Green Vanya is the boundless perfection.
In Chinese, Vanya has another meaning,
the convergence with heaven.
Later, Vanya began to mean many things.
In the Tibetan tradition, Vanya sounds Bon,
and means eternal, unchanging.
Today, in China, the symbol Vanya serves as a topography,
the designation of the place of the Buddhist temple.
The Slavs used the symbol of the swastika for many centuries.
The legendary Veshy Oleg,
having conquered Constantinople in the 10th century AD,
nailed his shield with an image of a fiery swastika in the middle at the gates.
The fiery swastika was considered a symbol of the land of ancestors.
One of the Slavic legends says
that Prince Oleg, gifted with foresight,
made an unusual storm of the city of Constantinople, Tsargrad.
Oleg ordered to put all his 500 ships on wheels.
Waiting for the wind, the warriors raised the sails and went to storm the city.
Frightened Greeks hurried to open the gates and offered peace.
And then, as a sign of victory,
Veshy Oleg nailed his shield with a fiery swastika in the middle at the gates of the city.
One of the chronicles explains the actions of Veshy Oleg
as a demonstration of peaceful intentions,
as a manifestation of goodwill to stop any treachery between peoples,
as a desire to take care of the city,
and not humiliate the dignity of the defeated.
In Russia, the right-sided swastika was called a kolovrat or a sunflower,
and the left-sided swastika was called a posolon.
Kolovrat symbolizes life, posolon means a request.
In Russia, the swastika was used in different forms and types.
There are at least 144 types of swastikas.
The symbol served primarily as a shield.
It was believed that it brings 10,000 benefits.
Perhaps it is because the symbol of the swastika was one of the most popular,
it is a shield for many peoples.
Knowing this, Hitler could easily infiltrate the consciousness of people
and then, in an insidious way, carry out his evil policy.
As a result, the swastika is the oldest symbol of peace, movement, life.
And I give it a good name, telling its history.
The swastika was really not invented by Hitler.
The destructive consequences of the Second World War
are still associated with the Hitler swastika.
And this is understandable.
It is unlikely that one can erase the horrors of war from the memory of people.
But it is necessary to return the good name of a real swastika.
A symbol that has served as a shield for many peoples for millennia
cannot become a scarecrow of fascism in a few decades
due to the fact that the dictator stole it, turned it over,
put it on a corner and repainted it black.
