A Plum Cake Afternoon with Elia 🍂 Baking for a Friend | No Talking

A card arrives with the morning tea, and Elia spends the whole afternoon getting ready for it.

She walks out for plums and pears, stops at the flower stall on the way home, and turns the kitchen over to a plum-and-almond cake — butter, eggs, flour, fruit sliced thin and laid out in a circle. While it bakes she cuts the flowers, sets the low table, and lights the candles.

Then the doorbell. Tea, cake, a card read out loud, an afternoon that goes slowly into blue hour. A small box tied with ribbon to take home.

No talking, no narration — just the sounds of an ordinary, beautiful afternoon.
