President Donald Trump headlined a defense summit at the U.S. Army War College on Wednesday, alongside Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and other military and diplomatic leaders, touting major defense investments. The President announced almost $10 billion in new investments in the U.S. defense industrial base in Pennsylvania, creating thousands of jobs.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche touted multiple achievements by the Department of Justice under the second Trump Administration during his Senate confirmation hearing.

“Murders are down roughly 20 percent nationwide. We have the lowest murder rate since 1900. Violent crime arrests are up nearly 114 percent,” Blanche said. The Judiciary nomination hearing to be the next U.S. attorney general will reconvene on Thursday, Chairman Chuck Grassley said.

Following a string of major criminal fraud cases in federal programs, Senate lawmakers invited citizen journalist Nick Shirley, investigative journalists and watchdogs to testify on how to stop billions in taxpayer fraud before it happens.
