FBI Director Kash Patel and DEA Administrator Terrance Cole told senators that federal agencies are expanding efforts to counter criminal networks tied to China, including fentanyl precursor trafficking, cyber threats, and illegal marijuana operations in multiple states.
President Donald Trump told reporters before departing for China that he expects inflation to drop as soon as the war with Iran ends. He said he also believes oil prices will drop once the war is over.
The Missouri Supreme Court upheld a mid-decade congressional redistricting plan backed by Trump that could help Republicans win an extra seat. In South Carolina, the state Senate voted against a House amendment that would have moved forward with a mid-decade redistricting effort.
Welcome to NTD Evening News.

This is NTV Evening News, live from our global headquarters in New York City.
Good evening and thank you for joining us tonight.
I'm Cary Dunst.
President Trump is on his way to Beijing for a major summit with Chinese regime leader
Xi Jinping.
Trade, Taiwan, and the conflict in Iran are all expected to be on the agenda.
NTV's Washington correspondent Jack Bradley has more on that.
President Trump departing Washington for Beijing for a two-day summit with Chinese leader Xi
Jinping.
He's set to pursue new trade agreements with China to bring down the U.S. trade deficit
at over $200 billion.
China is expected to purchase U.S. goods like soybeans, beef, and other farm products.
And the U.S. may also sell potentially hundreds of Boeing commercial aircraft to China, along
with increased purchases of U.S. oil and liquid natural gas.
President Trump will be accompanied by 16 tech and business CEOs, including Elon Musk,
Apple's Tim Cook, and BlackRock's Larry Fink, among others.
Trump is also set to raise other sensitive issues, like the conflict in Iran.
We're going to have a long talk about it.
Do you think he needs to intervene at all with the Iranians?
I don't think he does.
Do you think he can help in any way?
No, I don't think we need any help with Iran.
We'll win it one way or the other.
Now, China has a lot of incentive to push Iran toward a peace deal.
China buys up to 90 percent of Iran's oil, and that supply has been cut off now for about
a month after the U.S. imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
And the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for almost half of China's oil imports, is essentially
closed down for every country due to the threat of Iranian attacks on commercial ships.
But even so, Trump says that he won't need Xi's help to push Iran toward a peace deal.
I don't think we need any help with Iran, to be honest with you.
They're defeated militarily, and they'll either do the right thing or we'll finish the job.
Taiwan will also come up in the summit.
Xi Jinping has stated his intention to take over Taiwan by force if necessary.
Taiwan is the world's largest chip producer, which is necessary to make nearly all electronics.
But they're also a self-governing democracy.
The Trump administration approved a record $11 billion weapon sale to Taiwan back in December,
the Taiwanese president releasing this message ahead of Trump's trip.
I would like to thank the United States for helping us strengthen our defense capabilities.
Democracy is one of the values that links Taiwan to the world.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to be part of the U.S. delegation to China.
China sanctioned Rubio back in 2020 for introducing bills as a senator
targeting the Chinese Communist Party's crackdown on political dissidents in Hong Kong
and slavery camps for Muslim Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
And he's also introduced legislation to stop China's forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.
Now China will be waiving those sanctions for his visit.
President Trump also said that he'll bring up the cases of imprisoned Hong Kong publisher Jimmy Lai
and Chinese pastor Ezra Jin.
Xi Jinping is expected to visit Washington later this year.
For NTD News Washington, I'm Jack Bradley.
And Pete Hegseth back on the Hill.
The Secretary of War was in a double-header budget hearing,
China, Russia and Iran dominating that agenda.
NTD correspondent Jason Blair has the key takeaways.
The $1.5 trillion budget will ensure the United States continues to maintain
the world's most powerful and capable military
as we grapple with a complex threat environment across multiple theaters.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth back before Congress on Tuesday
for back-to-back budget hearings in both the House and the Senate.
China, Russia and Iran remain the primary focus.
China is modernizing its military at a pace and scale that is alarming.
The current threat environment facing the United States is as serious
and as layered as anything I have witnessed during my time in Congress.
Hegseth says keeping Iran from having nuclear capabilities is still a high priority.
Iran has effectively tried to use the North Korea strategy
with such overwhelming capabilities conventionally
that no one would dare prevent them from pursuing a nuclear weapon.
And it took President Trump to have the courage to make that historic decision.
Rep Rosa DeLauro says she'd prefer to have the administration focus on the cost of living
rather than a large military budget.
With gas prices and inflation numbers increasing,
the American people just want to afford the basic necessities for everyday life.
But this administration is not doing anything to help them with the cost of living crisis.
In the Senate, how to protect and deter a possible invasion against Taiwan by China
was brought up by Senator Jerry Moran.
One of the things that is seemingly clear to me
is that Taiwan remains at the forefront of the Chinese efforts,
next steps in what they want to accomplish.
Through the president's leadership, we've re-established deterrence.
The world knows that America's word means something.
And when you do that, plus build out your alliances,
all the right people pay attention to that and see it.
And that's been the focus in the Indo-Pacific.
Reporting in Washington, D.C., Jason Blair, NTD News.
Next, a major legal victory for Republicans in Missouri today
as the state's highest court ruled to keep a map favoring Republicans
even as a separate redistricting push stalls in South Carolina.
NTD's Arlene Richards brings us more on that.
Increasingly, the battle for control of Congress is unfolding not only at the ballot box
but in courtrooms and state houses across the country.
In Missouri Tuesday, the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of keeping
a newly drawn congressional map after hearing arguments earlier in the day
over whether it violated the state constitution.
At issue in this case are the Missouri constitution's mandatory requirements
for congressional redistricting.
That each and every district be as compact as may be,
the subject of our first claim,
and that every district be equally populated and contiguous.
Opponents argued the proposed map is designed to give Republicans
control of seven of Missouri's eight congressional districts.
Meanwhile, in South Carolina, Republicans faced a setback
after the state Senate voted against a House amendment
that would have moved forward with a mid-decade redistricting effort.
President Trump had urged lawmakers to support the effort,
saying he was counting on their elected leaders
to use every legal and constitutional authority they have
to stop the radical left Democrats from destroying our country.
Republicans and Democrats are increasingly turning to courts and state legislatures
as both parties fight for an advantage ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Republicans could target up to 14 additional seats nationwide,
while Democrats are targeting about six.
Democrats are also hoping the U.S. Supreme Court will eventually allow Virginia
to implement a new congressional map that could favor Democrats
and potentially add four seats.
Several Republican-led states, including Tennessee, Florida, and Texas,
have already advanced new maps, while Democrats are pursuing legal challenges
and redraw efforts in states like New York and California.
Marlene Richards, NTD News.
FBI Director Kash Patel and DEA Administrator Terrence Cole
are telling senators today that federal agencies are expanding their efforts
to counter criminal networks tied to China,
including fentanyl precursor trafficking, cyber threats,
as well as illegal marijuana operations in multiple states.
NTD's Chris Bobb brings us more on that.
As I've said, we've arrested 44% more espionage actors from China, Russia,
the DPRK, and Iran alone.
China taking center stage at a Senate hearing Tuesday
as lawmakers questioned FBI and DEA officials about cyber threats, fentanyl trafficking,
and transnational criminal networks linked to the Chinese Communist Party.
FBI Director Kash Patel posting a graphic before the hearing,
reporting his agency has arrested more than 45,000 violent criminals,
disrupted over 2,400 gangs and criminal enterprises,
increased counterintelligence arrests by more than 50%,
and boosted cyber-related indictments by 158% under the Trump administration.
Senator Jerry Moran pressing DEA Administrator Terrence Cole
about Chinese precursor chemicals fueling fentanyl production in Mexico.
I just returned from a visit to China,
where in conversations with Chinese leaders,
we again pushed the issue of precursor chemicals.
We continue to target the Chinese organizations
that are sending this precursor chemicals into Mexico
for the manufacturing of fentanyl to come across our border.
The DEA chief warning that the fentanyl pipeline remains active
despite increased coordination with foreign partners.
We can only determine the effect when we start to see the decrease
in Americans that are dying at the hands of this poison
that is coming out of Mexico but is being fueled by China and India.
Senator Susan Collins also raising concerns
about illegal marijuana grow operations in Maine,
allegedly linked to Chinese-backed criminal organizations.
The Chinese nationals that are doing most of the criminal activity
related to the grow houses have either severed ties or covered their tracks very well.
They're often using crypto as the instantaneous transfer of wealth.
Patel also highlighting how the FBI recently secured
the return of a CCP-linked cyber criminal from Italy.
The top cyber criminal from the CCP was housed in Italian custody.
While there, we were able to work an agreement and arrangement
to have that individual expelled from Italy
instead of going back to China like has so often happened.
And Patel testifying that he's expanding FBI coordination
ahead of upcoming international events in the U.S.,
saying, quote, this summer, all eyes are focused on the World Cup.
Reporting from Washington, D.C., Chris Bobb, NTD News.
Next, Dr. Marty Muckery is no longer the commissioner
of the Food and Drug Administration.
President Trump confirmed early reports of Muckery's departure
while speaking outside the White House ahead of his trip to China.
Trump declined to say whether Muckery resigned or was fired.
Muckery had faced criticism from companies, lobbyists,
and others for agency officials declining to approve certain drugs.
His exit comes as Trump has seen some of his health nominees
stall in the Senate approval process,
including his pick for Surgeon General, Dr. Casey Means.
Trump recently announced he was withdrawing her nomination
and now tapping Dr. Nicole Safier as his new nominee.
FDA Deputy Commissioner for Food Kyle Diamantis
will serve as the agency's acting commissioner.
And the Justice Department has filed criminal charges
in the deadly 2024 collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge.
Prosecutors say the ship's operators knew about a hazardous condition,
failed to report it, and later tried to mislead investigators.
NTD's Christina Corona tells us more on that.
Federal prosecutors have charged two shipping companies
and a senior employee in the March 2024 collapse
of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge.
The defendants are Synergy Marine, Synergy Maritime,
and Technical Superintendent Radha Krishnan Karthik Nair.
Authorities say the cargo ship Dolly lost power twice within four minutes
after leaving the Port of Baltimore.
As alleged in the indictment, the Dolly struck the Key Bridge
because it lost power twice in a four-minute period of time
prior to striking the bridge.
Prosecutors say the second blackout happened
because the ship was using an improper fuel pump.
The indictment alleges that if the Dolly had been using
the proper fuel supply pumps,
then the vessel would have regained power in time
to safely navigate under the Key Bridge.
But because the ship was using the flushing pumps,
which did not have the redundancies,
the ship did not regain power in time.
The crash caused the bridge to collapse,
killing six construction workers.
We allege that Synergy knew about the improper use
of the flushing pump on the Dolly and on other Synergy vessels
and willfully failed to notify the Coast Guard
of this hazardous condition.
Prosecutors say the defendants also provided false documents
and statements to investigators.
The economic and human costs of this catastrophe
have been borne every day by ordinary men and women
and most of all by the families of the six workers who were killed.
The charges include conspiracy, obstruction,
false statements and misconduct resulting in death.
The Synergy Marine Group has responded in a statement saying
the DOJ is, quote, criminalizing a tragic accident.
The firm says the incident was caused by a loose wire.
Maryland estimates the rebuilding of the bridge
will cost more than $4 billion,
with reconstruction expected by 2030.
Christina Corona, NTD News.
Next, the Senate has confirmed Kevin Warsh's nomination
for a 14-year term on the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors.
A vote on his nomination for a concurrent four-year term
as Fed Chair could take place as soon as tomorrow.
Warsh is expected to replace Jerome Powell,
whose term as Fed Chair ends Friday.
Warsh has faced questions over whether he would resist pressure
from President Trump to cut interest rates.
He responded saying the Federal Reserve must remain independent,
telling senators he made no agreement with President Trump
on interest rates before being nominated.
And data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
shows annual inflation rose to 3.8% in April.
Economists had forecast the jump to 3.7.
Poor inflation, which excludes volatile energy and food prices,
edged up 2.8% on a month-to-month basis.
April prices rose 0.6% from March,
with gas prices rising 5.4%.
Grocery prices rose 0.7%.
Labor Department data showed gas prices are up more than 28%
compared to a year ago.
AAA reports an average gas price above $4.50 a gallon.
Here's President Trump prior to his departure for China.
Now, with all of this,
inflation is much lower than it was under Biden.
Biden had the highest inflation in the history of our country.
Inflation is nothing by comparison,
but our inflation is just short-term.
Because if you go from before, just before the war,
we were, for the last three months, 1.7%.
And now what you have is, as soon as this war is over,
you're going to see inflation go down to probably 1.5%.
And the Department of Energy announced
it will release more than 53 million barrels of oil
from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
This is part of the U.S.'s pledge
to add 172 million barrels to the international market.
More than 30 countries are also included in an initiative
that focuses on bringing roughly 400 million barrels of oil to the world.
The Strait of Hormuz remained restricted
amid the Iran conflict.
The waterway carries about one-fifth
of the world's natural gas and oil supply.
Coming up, the number of individuals infected
with the hantavirus is expected to rise.
Ariane Pasdar has why the U.S. and WHO
says there's no major risk to the general public.
And a mayor in California resigns
and agrees to plead guilty to accepting as a CCP agent.
Prosecutors say she spread Chinese regime propaganda
denying human rights abuses in Xinjiang and more.

Welcome back to NCD Evening News.
I'm Cary Dunst.
The World Health Organization says
there's no need to worry about the latest spread
of the hantavirus.
This comes despite the fact
that the number of infected individuals
is expected to rise.
NCD's international correspondent,
Arian Pasdar, has the latest on the virus.
At the moment, there is no sign
that we are seeing the start of a larger outbreak.
The head of the WHO on Tuesday,
speaking alongside the president of Spain,
the hantavirus risk level is currently low,
but the numbers could still change
according to the WHO.
Given the long incubation period of the virus,
it's possible we might see more cases
in the coming weeks.
He went on to explain
why exactly the number of confirmed cases
is still expected to rise.
There was a lot of interaction, actually,
with the passengers.
And as you know,
the incubation period is also six to eight weeks.
So because of the interaction,
while they were still in the ship,
especially before they started taking
some infectious prevention measures,
because of the interaction,
we would expect more cases.
Still, the United States is confident
the virus doesn't pose a risk
to the general public at this point,
as Health Secretary RFK Jr. made clear on Monday.
We have this under control,
and we're not worried about it.
But it looks like it's just a disease
that we've had around in a very small way
for a long time.
Not a good one to catch,
because it's a very severe disease
if you catch it,
but it's very hard to catch.
French President Emmanuel Macron, meanwhile,
taking a different tone,
saying France has adopted
an extremely strict protocol
for all identified contact cases.
Now it's important that there be
real European coordination,
meaning that the protocols move towards
the most demanding standards
that have been defined.
And video released by the British military
shows a paratrooper arriving on a remote island
to deliver medical aid to a person
suspected of contracting the virus.
The island is called Tristan da Cunha
and is home to only around 200 people.
It lies halfway between South Africa
and South America
and is the world's remotest inhabited island.
A person living there
was one of the passengers
on the MV Hondja's cruise ship
and started developing symptoms
two weeks after leaving the ship.
In a disturbing story of a U.S. politician
doing the bidding of communist China,
the Justice Department saying
a California mayor has agreed to plead guilty
to operating as an agent for the CCP.
NTD's Daniel Monaghan has the details
of yet another troubling case
of Beijing attempting to influence
the events here in the U.S.
Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wong
resigned yesterday from her position
after being charged
with secretly carrying out
the directives of a foreign government.
Wong was voted onto the Arcadia City Council
in November 2022
and was mayor when the charges were brought.
The position of mayor rotates
among the five-member council.
Arcadia is about 13 miles northeast
of downtown Los Angeles.
Wong resigned following
the announcement of the charges.
Court documents say
Wong and her fiancé
and campaign treasurer
Yao Ning Mike Sun of Chino Hills
worked on behalf of instructions
from Chinese regime operatives
from late 2020 through 2022.
The two ran a site called
U.S. News Center
marketed to the local
Chinese-American community
as a news outlet.
But prosecutors say in reality
it was used to spread
CCP propaganda.
According to Wong's plea agreement,
a Chinese official sent her
pre-written content on WeChat in 2021
denying genocide
and forced labor allegations
in Xinjiang
and accusing critics
of trying to undermine China.
Prosecutors say
Wong uploaded the article
to her website within minutes
and sent the link to the official
to which he replied
so fast,
thank you everyone.
By August 2021,
prosecutors say
Wong was editing articles
at an official's request
and forwarding screenshots
showing how many views
the articles were receiving.
After a post showed
over 15,000 views,
the official said
great
and Wong wrote back
thank you leader.
Wong acknowledged
in her plea agreement
that she never notified
the Attorney General
that she was working
as a CCP operative
and she never disclosed
on her website
that some of its content
had been published
at the direction
of CCP officials.
Court filings also show
Wong corresponded
in November 2021
with John Chen,
identified as a senior figure
in the CCP's intelligence structure
who attended
elite CCP functions
and met personally
with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
Chen was sentenced
in November 2024
to 20 months
in federal prison
after pleading guilty
to acting as an illegal
Chinese agent
and conspiracy
to bribe a public official.
Wong faces up
to 10 years in prison.
The FBI commented
on the case
saying it will continue
working to safeguard
the integrity of elections
and keep hostile actors
from undermining
the voices
of the American people.

Welcome back to
Antity Evening News.
I'm Kerry Dunst.
As President Trump
departs for Asia
and prepares for his meeting
with Chinese leader Xi Jinping,
we're now joined
by Michael Lucci.
He's founder and CEO
of State Armor.
His organization
helps states
enact solutions
to global security threats,
especially those
that are posed
by the Chinese
communist regime.
Thank you so much
for joining us this evening.
As President Trump
prepares to meet with Xi,
could human rights
become a point of leverage
in the negotiations?
Human rights
are the most
distinct differentiation
between the United States
of America
and the Chinese
Communist Party.
The Chinese Communist Party
is currently conducting
a genocide.
They also use
slave labor
across the country.
Some of these people,
they move around
factory to factory
against their will
in all sorts of atrocities
like this.
There's a genocide
in the western part
of the country.
They do forced organ harvesting,
which means they
pull organs
out of living people
to give it to officials
that the Chinese Communist Party
prefers.
This is unlike
any regime
we've seen
for, say, 85 years.
You can think back
and see who else
acted like that,
Nazi Germany and others.
So this is the most
distinct point
of difference
between two countries
and cultures
that are really different
across the board
and do not fit together.
Yeah, Michael.
For many Americans,
they hear about these abuses
in China,
but they don't really grasp
their scale
or the brutality
the way that you
just very eloquently
articulated it.
It's very dark
to even talk about.
So how do we explain
the reality of the regime
and why it matters
to Americans here at home?
Well, the way we explain
the reality of the regime
is to compare it
to other historic regimes
that were totalitarian dictatorships
that suppressed
and even killed minorities
within their country
intentionally and at scale.
That's what we need
to compare it to.
And so we need to make sure
that we don't just see this
as another regime
where we're doing business
with the country
in the way we might do business
with our friends in Japan,
with our friends in Europe
and otherwise.
This is also a regime
that is the number one
cause of death
for military-age men
right here in the
United States of America.
The fentanyl poisoning,
the mass chemical poisoning
of our young men
is the number one
cause of death
for young military-age men
here in the United States
of America.
So the same regime
that's committing atrocities
on their soil
is the number one
cause of death
for young men
on our soil
and it is a regime
that we should broadly
separate ourselves from.
Michael,
when we talk about
the CCP
and how they're
not just committing
these atrocities
in China
but as you just
described
with fentanyl
as the number one
killer of young men,
they are actively
looking to disrupt
our society
in so many ways
but they often
play the long game
while we tend
to focus on
short-term results.
Is that a strategic gap
that Beijing
has been able
to take advantage of
particularly
with the openness
of our Western society?
Beijing,
without a doubt,
takes advantage
of the openness
of our Western society
and we do have
to close up
those openings.
We need to armor
our states.
We need to protect
our country
and our homeland
as a whole.
So Beijing
absolutely sees
our open society
as a system
that they seek
to exploit
and then really
destroy over time.
Now,
Beijing,
they like to say
how they're so good
at playing the long game
and there are areas
on economic development
where they've done
an outstanding job
in developing
their economy
but this is also
the same regime
that forced
their own population
to have only one child
for multiple generations
that destroyed
the demographic structure
of their country.
They're trying to reverse
that now and they can't.
They also make
really bad decisions
over the long run
so they do
some things well,
they do some things
really horribly.
Wow,
when you put it that way,
you really can see
how that social engineering
is now starting
to create
systemic problems
at home for China
but I do want
to talk about
how they affect Americans.
You have a front row seat
to that.
You see the CCP's
unrestricted warfare.
You see it
in your business
and you see it
through a variety
of means,
cyber and espionage.
What does that look like?
Can you give
some actual examples
so that people
can start to understand
how it's very intentional
and how they operate?
Yeah,
I'll give you
some very clear examples.
So,
what I actually do
with my colleagues
and with state lawmakers
is we work together
to pass
state laws
to protect the states
from the Chinese
Communist Party
to protect the universities,
to protect our property,
our critical infrastructure.
What we have noticed
is that China
tends to have
a point man
in each individual state,
a point man
who they run down
to the state capital
like here
where I'm in
Austin, Texas,
like in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
like in Columbus, Ohio.
They have a point man
who they run down
to interfere
with legislative proceedings.
Those point men
bring in
sort of loads
and loads,
dozens and dozens
of Chinese nationals
to try to shut down
the committee work
of protecting our nation.
So, that's one
very obvious example.
A lot of the lawmakers
I work with,
you know,
they are subject
to cyber attacks.
My colleagues and I
are as well.
The Chinese Communist Party
believes that they
should have a veto
on Americans
in American state houses
doing American things
like protecting our freedom.
They do transnational
repression as well.
Here in the state of Texas,
they've attacked
several ministers,
several human rights
defenders across
the state of Texas.
That's why Governor Abbott
and then Senator Brian Hughes
codified the first law
on transnational repression
to crush those efforts
by the Chinese Communist Party.
I mean, it's shocking
to think that
they have a ground game
that's going into
our state legislators
and trying to interfere
with our legislative process
while they have no
open legislative process
in their own country.
That's shocking.
And we saw just this week,
of course,
these influence operations
with the California mayor
that we reported on
earlier in the show.
How deep and widespread
is the regime's
sort of tentacles
into our Western society
here in America?
Look, I'd put it like this.
Arcadia, California
has 55,000 people.
If they care enough
to cultivate the mayor
of Arcadia,
55,000 make that mayor
an agent of the
Chinese Communist Party,
which I believe is what
she pled guilty to,
being an agent
of the Chinese Communist Party.
That's a 55,000-person,
you know,
mid-sized town in California.
What do you think
they care about
New York City,
San Francisco,
here in Austin, Texas,
Houston, Texas,
all across the country,
Washington, D.C.,
without a doubt?
If they're going to
cultivate leadership
and try to control leadership
of a town of
55,000 Californians,
they're trying that
all across the country.
President Biden's team
actually sent out
a very sound warning
in 2022,
warning every governor
and every mayor
that this is happening.
Then Secretary Mike Pompeo
did the exact same thing.
He told every governor
in the country,
the Chinese Communist Party
has ranked each of you
for how much
they can influence you.
Again,
it's quite shocking
to learn about.
When you said
you contrasted,
you know,
the small town
right outside Los Angeles
being on their radar,
what does a major city's
infiltration look like,
like a New York
or a San Francisco
or, you know,
a Chicago?
Well,
New York,
New York City,
the New York Times
of all publications
actually spelled out
more than 50
nonprofit organizations
in the city of New York
that are interfering
with New York
municipal and state elections.
So these are more than 50,
what we call
United Front organizations.
United Front is a
Marxist-Leninist concept
of political warfare
where essentially
they get within our society
and they try to tear us apart
from the inside.
The New York Times
of all publications
identified more than 50
United Front organizations
just in the city of New York.
They are generally
governed by a man
who's been convicted
of federal crimes,
you know,
and somehow he still
sort of runs free.
So this is just
the city of New York
where they have
more than 50
United Front operations
within the state.
They undoubtedly have spies.
The governor of New York
ended up having
a spy in her office
running interference
to block out
the Taiwanese
from working with
the governor of New York.
So just to see in New York,
we saw more than
50 United Front
Chinese Communist Party
political warfare
organizations
and that's according
to the New York Times.
So it's most likely
worse than that.
And Michael,
beyond their interference
in our legislative process,
what other types of elements
is included in their
unrestricted warfare campaign
against the U.S.
and other Western countries?
So two top things
that we see them do
at the state and local level.
One, they deeply
infiltrate our universities.
When we're testifying
across the states,
it's often
a Chinese professor
of a subject
like biochemistry
who will come down
to the state house
and be able to testify
on five, ten
different bills
about a wide range
of topics.
And when you ask them,
when state lawmakers
ask them,
what's democracy
like in China?
They'll say,
oh, I can't talk about that.
I can't talk about that.
We're not here
to talk about China.
So it's a Chinese national
interfering in our state houses,
refusing to answer questions
about Communist China,
but telling
American state lawmakers
that they are racist
for merely
protecting themselves.
That's coming out
of the universities.
They're stealing IP
out of the universities
like crazy.
The other instance
is critical infrastructure.
They seek to be physically
near critical infrastructure.
They seek to be able
to cyber attack
critical infrastructure.
They seek to be able
to pull data
off of critical infrastructure
so that they can figure out
how to corrupt
that critical infrastructure.
They have all sorts
of assets
that they deploy
across the states,
including here
in the state of Texas,
that are actually
pre-positioned
to be able
to disrupt
our critical infrastructure
in the event
of a global conflict.
Well, I'm shocked.
It's, you know,
you hear about it every day,
but the way
that you articulate
how granular
their attempts are,
it really is shocking.
Thank you so much
for joining us this evening,
raising the alarm.
I presume that there's
a whole bunch of things
being done
to root this out
and I look forward
to having the opportunity
to explore that with you
at a future time.
Thank you.
From the persecution
of Falun Gong
to the arrest
of members
of underground
Christian churches,
the Chinese Communist Party's
repression of religious freedom
was the focus
of an event today
at the Hudson Institute.
Antony Sam Wong
has the details on that.
In China,
we see massive,
rising hostility
to religious freedom.
China is the cause,
the enabler
of most of our
global rights issues,
human rights issues,
and this issue
must be elevated
to a national security issue.
As President Trump
is preparing to meet
with Chinese leader
Xi Jinping in Beijing,
a panel at the Hudson Institute
is putting a spotlight
on the CCP's persecution
of faith.
I really think
we're in a battle
between the CCP
and Western civilization.
I think their Achilles heel
is religious freedom.
While we are comfortably
living in America,
on the other side
of the ocean,
on the other side
of the world,
people are losing
their loved ones,
losing their lives
and losing their homes.
China is not only
a threat to people
inside of China,
but to a free world.
Since its founding,
the Chinese Communist Party
has considered
religious activities
as a threat
to its power,
subjugating people
of faith to decades
long repression.
One of the most
notable examples
is the persecution
of Falun Gong,
a spiritual practice
whose adherents
face harassment,
surveillance,
imprisonment,
torture,
and even death
for their faith.
Falun Gong
represents the
Communism
is a European
import
into China.
I think this is
just such a
clear fight
and I think
that's why
the CCP
fears Falun Gong
so much.
Since the persecution
began in July 1999,
Falun Gong
practitioners in China
have become
the main victims
of the CCP's
campaign of
forced organ harvesting.
According to
the Human Rights
Research Center
in 2022,
there were
in 2022
there were
157,494
victims
of organ
harvesting.
It's industrial
strength.
The scale
of this,
it's
Mengele-like
medical
experimentation.
It's
vile.
It's the
most evil
thing
I've ever
heard of.
China's
human rights
violations
have been
on the radar
of the Trump
administration.
Just ahead
of his meeting
with Xi,
Trump said
he would
raise the case
of jailed
pastor Ezra Jin,
founder of the
underground
Christian Zion
Church in
China.
Jin's daughter
Grace Jin Drexel
says she's
grateful to
America for
being a nation
that cares
for the
vulnerable.
It's like
the glimmer
of hope
that there
is actually
a possibility
that my
father will
be mentioned
and eventually
that will
lead to his
release.
This has
just been
the most
hopeful that
we've been
since the
arrest.
Speaking
about the
president's
trip to
China,
Secretary
of State
Marco Rubio
recently said
that addressing
human rights
violations,
including
forced organ
harvesting,
will remain
a priority
for the
Trump
administration.

Next we move
on to some
technology news
in Elon Musk's
lawsuit against
Open AI
today.
CEO Sam
Altman,
who's being
sued by
Musk,
providing his
testimony in
court.
NTD's
David Lam
reports.
Open AI
CEO Sam
Altman's
been highly
anticipated.
He's taking the
stand and is
one of the
key defendants
sued by Elon
Musk.
Sam Altman,
41, is the
CEO of
Open AI and
co-founded
the company
in 2015.
This is week
3 of the
Musk v.
Altman trial
at the
federal courthouse
in Oakland,
California.
Altman
defending
himself on
Tuesday,
saying he
can't wrap
his head
around the
accusation
that he's
stealing a
charity.
Altman testified
that $10 billion
in funding was
not enough,
believing that
donations alone
couldn't fund
the company
and that its
revenues couldn't
cover its costs,
including
computing
expenses.
Musk initiated
the lawsuit
back in
2024,
alleging that
Open AI's
executives and
Microsoft's
CEO violated
Open AI's
non-profit
mission and
sought unjust
enrichment.
Altman said
the company
invests everything
into research
and technology
and hasn't
paid any
profits to
investors yet.
During
cross-examination,
when Altman was
asked about
the testimonies
of former
executives who
accused him
of dishonesty,
Altman said
he didn't
know enough
about the
testimonies
executives due
to his busy
day job.
Altman was
repeatedly questioned
about the time
he was fired
by the Open
AI board,
but then
rehired.
He said it
was like running
into a burning
building because
he still wanted
to continue
building Open
AI.
The judge
expects one
more day of
testimony with
closing arguments
on Thursday.

In other
Elon Musk
news,
Tesla is
making
preparations to
expand its
robotaxi service
to the cities
of Miami,
Phoenix and
Las Vegas.
Progress
slower than
what some
expected as
Tesla says
they're taking
a cautious
approach for
safety reasons.
Many people
may have
thought they
would have
ridden in a
Tesla robotaxi
by now,
after CEO
Elon Musk
predicted
robotaxis would
serve half the
U.S.
population by
the end of
last year.
However,
Musk says the
company is
taking a,
cautious
approach to
avoid injuries
or fatalities.
Tesla's
robotaxi has
since expanded
to Dallas
and Houston
and the San
Francisco
Bay Area.
Musk
saying this
last month
about the
robotaxi's
progress.
The limiting
factor for
expansion is
really rigorous
validation,
making sure
things are
completely safe.
We don't
want to have
a single
accident or
injury with
the expansion
of robotaxi and
we have,
to the credit
of the team,
not had a
single one
to date.
As of now,
some robotaxis
still have
human safety
monitors to be
able to take
control of the
vehicle if
necessary.
The car can be
on its own,
but we don't
want the unknown
to happen so
we're here.
And what is
that unknown
thing that
could happen?
If it's like
the marathon
coming up and
certain roads are
closed off,
a human might
be able to
better navigate
new situations
versus a robot
where it's
kind of just
relying on
programming.
Then there's
also the legal
side of
things.
One issue
brought up by
an Austin
police officer
was that the
robotaxis
should never
drive faster
than the
speed limit.
However,
on Tesla's
website,
the standard
speed profile
for supervised
driving says
the car,
quote,
drives at
normal speed
and adjusts
speed to
match the
flow of
traffic.
We addressed
that immediately
with Tesla.
Our concerns
about that,
they made it
their point
that they do
that because
of their
studies,
that they
believed that
it was safer
to keep up
with the
flow of
traffic.
And we
reiterated
our point
to them
that at
no time
would we
ever advocate
that you
program your
vehicles to
speed for
a multitude
of reasons.
This comes
as preparations
are underway
to expand
robotaxis
operations to
Miami,
Orlando,
Tampa,
Phoenix,
and Las
Vegas.
Meanwhile,
ride-hailing
company Waymo
saying on
Tuesday that
it's recalling
about 3,800
robotaxis in
the United
States.
The recall
happened after
a driverless
Waymo vehicle
drove into a
flooded lane
during severe
weather.
Waymo says
they're working
on additional
software safeguards
to prevent such
an incident from
happening again.

Coming up,
the American
Museum of Natural
History in
Manhattan is
adding an
exhibit on
sports that's
part of the
city's
transformation
as the FIFA
World Cup
comes near.
NTD's
Sean Marshall
reports.
Say goodbye
to bitter
coffee and
a delicious
smooth brew

You'll taste
the difference
with every sip.
Fermented

Is deep sea
fish oil really
healthy?
Due to pollution
in the oceans,
most fish
contain heavy
metal elements
and radioactive
substances.
That's why it's so
important to choose
a pure source of
omega-3.
Puritan green
vegetable omega-3
is made from
purslane and
perilla seeds,
which are rich
in nutrients and
minerals.
It effectively
improves brain
power and is
beneficial to the
heart's health.
Puritan green

Eat two a day
and you'll feel
brand new.
There's a whirlwind
of emotion and
activity going on
in this painting.
And there's
chaos all around
and threat from
below.
The wolves
surrounding her
and they are
anything but
unmoved.
They're moving
all the time
and we sense
that.
But this little
girl remains
unmoved.
She's in quite a
perilous situation.
But she's
completely
strong
and
serene
and
she's actually
meditating.
It was very,
very well liked
because
no matter what
culture or
what sort of
walk of life
you're from,
I think people,
they see it and
they immediately
understand what
that energy,
what that message
is and
they're drawn to it
because everybody
kind of needs
a little bit of
that in their
own life.
You know,
the steadfast
calmness and
something to hold
on to.
It's definitely
an inner peace
in the midst of
something very chaotic
and for a lot of
people right now,
the whole world
is very,
very chaotic.
So I guess
that's another
reason why so
many people are
very drawn to
this.
My graduation
was something
I will never
forget.
People like
you and
me sometimes
may have
doubts in
ourselves but
I feel that
everything's
possible.

Welcome back to
Entity Evening
News.
I'm Cary Dunst.
The American
Museum of Natural
History is
launching a new
exhibit.
It's showcasing
the sports award
items of American
champions.
Entity's Sean
Marshall has more
on that.
I'm at the
American Museum
of Natural
History in
Manhattan,
New York.
And with FIFA
World Cup coming
into town,
sports have
become a big
theme for
2026.
Instead of just
space,
dinosaurs,
and general
science stuff,
objects of sports
excellence is now
taking place in
the spotlight of
United States
history.
Spanning more
than 15 sports
and nearly 150
years of history,
For the Win
showcases an
extraordinary
collection of
trophies, rings,
and unique awards.
It's a display of
the tradition of
using precious
medals and
gemstones to
commemorate
victory.
To kick things
off, for the
press, Super Bowl
champion Justin
Tuck and world
champion boxer
Clarissa Shields
spoke to the
press.
And Neil
DeGrasse Tyson
moderated
everything.
Many might not
know that he was
the captain of
his high school
wrestling team
and competed on
Harvard's wrestling
squad while
majoring in
physics.
If there's ever
science anywhere,
it is manifest in
sports.
Force, energy,
momentum, mass,
there's no
greater display
of physics in
sports.
Highlights of the
showcase include
the National
Football League's
Vince Lombardi
trophy, one of
Jesse Owen's gold
medals from the
1936 Summer
Olympics in
Berlin, the
2024 WNBA
Championship
ring from
New York
Liberty's
Brianna Stewart
and Kevin
Durant's
2014 USA
gold Olympic
medal.
Let's get some
backdrop on what
is going on in
the heart, mind,
and soul of
someone who will
one day become a
champion.
If we go back
into your
childhood, what
were you
thinking?
Well, my
journey started
very young.
I started
boxing at
the age of
11.
I was born
in Flint,
Michigan, and
my dad was in
prison.
Flint, Michigan.
This is the
infamous Flint,
Michigan.
Yeah, the
water crisis.
Yeah, right,
okay.
That's what they
say is known
for.
The water crisis
and then myself.
You know,
why not work
hard and see
where boxing
takes me?
And then at
the age of
13, they said
that 2012
would be the
first Olympics
that they were
allowing women
to be in.
I was 13 at
the time.
In that sport,
yeah.
Yeah, in
boxing.
So I was like,
I'm just going
to see if when
I turn 17,
can I go to
the Olympics?
And then
overhaul, I
was 17 in
London fighting
at the Olympics.
Whoa.
So sports
for me was
kind of like
that avenue
where they
told me that
I could
play football
or play
basketball or
play a sport
and if I was
good enough,
get a free
education.
For me,
that was kind
of like my
aha moment
and trying
to see that
and conquer
that.
And so like
for me,
sports was
just kind
of like,
okay,
I love
Kelvin
Alabama,
but I did
not want
to be
Kelvin
Alabama
for the rest
of my life
and sports
was an avenue
out of that.
And luckily
for me,
I became
good enough
to get a
scholarship
to play
the Division
I level
and then got
drafted to
New York.
And that
was Dr.
Day.
That was
the University
of Notre
Dame.
You know,
this is,
this show
is opening
right as
we begin
to prepare
for the
coming of
the World
Cup to
North America.
And here
at AMNH,
we're going
to be doing
a number
of events
and activations
to bring
people together
to both
celebrate
the World
Cup,
to look
at the
importance
of sports
in all
of our
lives,
and to
come together
as a
informed
community
at this
moment.
For a
visitor,
they can
come to
the museum
and see
anything from
around the
world.
But in
this exhibition
for the
wind,
they can
really see
like little
stories about
people and
about how
we make
beautiful
things to
celebrate
achievement.
One of my
favorite things
is the ring
from the New
York Liberty
Championship
ring, because
inside the ring
there are some
hidden surprises
and visitors can
see those.
There's a pair
of earrings inside
the celebration
ring.
So there's
something for
everyone, for
kids and for
adults.
The objects
of sports
excellence
becomes open
to the general
public May
15th, and
will be around
until January
3rd.
