After the Second Schleswig War, Danish veteran Jon immigrates to America, hoping to finally reunite with his wife and young son. But on their journey home, his family is brutally murdered. Jon takes revenge, only to discover that one of the men he killed was the brother of the notorious outlaw leader, Delarue. The entire town, terrified by Delarue’s wrath, betrays Jon to save themselves, and Jon’s brother Peter dies trying to rescue him. Witnessing the weakness and darkness of human nature, Jon sets out on a lonely path of vengeance, leading to a final showdown with Delarue.
