Former President Jimmy Carter passed away on Sunday at the age of 100. U.S. leaders, including President Joe Biden and President-Elect Donald Trump paid tribute to the late former president. Tributes came in from around the world including from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

South Korea's acting President Choi Sang-mok has ordered an emergency safety inspection of the country's entire airline system. This follows the country's deadliest air disaster, which killed 179 people. Investigators are still working to identify the victims and President Joe BIden said that the U.S. is ready to assist South Korea.
