Russia Open to Peace Talks With Trump; The Onion Buys Alex Jones' Infowars; Florida Sues FEMA

Russia’s ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva told reporters on Thursday, that Moscow is open to negotiations on an end to the Ukraine war if initiated by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. But he added that any such negotiations needed to be based on what he called the realities of Russian advances on the ground.

The satirical news publication The Onion on Thursday won the bidding for Alex Jones’ Infowars at a bankruptcy auction, backed by families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims whom Jones owes more than $1 billion in defamation judgments for calling the massacre a hoax. Jones vowed to challenge the sale and the auction process in court.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody on Thursday sued FEMA officials for conspiracy to discriminate against hurricane victims who support President-elect Donald Trump. According to whistleblower reports, FEMA workers in parts of Florida were directed to ignore storm victims in households that displayed Trump signs or flags.
