Hello, everyone!
Welcome to Inconvenient Truths.
I am your host Jennifer Zeng.
Today, I will share some of
my exclusive findings on
several intriguing topics.
First,
I'll discuss how the CCP has
faked news footage of Xi
Jinping's meeting with the
President of Timor-Leste.
I'll also delve into the
rumors about whether Xi
Jinping has used a body double
to meet with the Italian
Prime Minister and explore
how we should perceive
political rumors in China.
Following that,
I'll touch on how the
decline in newborns has led
to some kindergartens being
repurposed as senior homes.
Lastly,
I will cover the CCP's plans to
implement an Internet ID
Number and ID card.
So, make sure you stick
around until the end.
On July 29,
Xi received Italian
Prime Minister Giorgia
Meloni and Timor-Leste
President Jose Ramos-Horta,
both of whom were visiting China.
This was Xi Jinping's first
public appearance since he
appeared at the Vietnamese
Embassy in China on July 20,
nine days after he went into hiding.
The official media also
reported on these two events.
In theory,
such a high-profile public event
should have been enough to
dispel rumors that he had
suffered a stroke.
Surprisingly,
many Chinese netizens
continued to spread the
rumor that he had a body
double and that the one who
came out was just a body double.
I didn't really believe it,
but since some people were
so persistent in spreading this rumor
I decided to do some
investigation myself.
I found four photos first:
one of the Italian Prime
Minister and the other of
Timor-Leste President both
taken on July 28 with
Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
The other two are photos of
the same two persons with
Xi Jinping, taken on July 29.
Then, I did a comparison.
I was surprised to find out
that, when using the group
photos of Li Qiang with
Giorgia Meloni and Jose
Ramos-Horta as a comparison standard,
the photos of Xi Jinping
with Giorgia Meloni and
Jose Ramos-Horta do
indeed show different heights.
To rule out the possibility
that the difference was due
to Giorgia Meloni wearing
different high heels when
meeting Xi Jinping and Li Qiang,
I specifically looked for
full-body photos showing
the height of her heels.
The photos indicate that the
height of her high heels
was similar during both meetings.
So, there are only two
possible explanations for
the significant difference
in Xi Jinping's displayed height.
One is that
Xi Jinping himself was
wearing so-called
height-increasing shoes
when meeting Giorgia Meloni.
These shoes look like
ordinary shoes on the
outside but have an inner
layer that increases the wearer's height.
The other possibility is
that the person who met
with Giorgia Meloni and Jose Ramos-Horta was
not the same individual.
Another exclusive discovery
I made is that the video of
Xi Jinping's meeting with
the President of
Timor-Leste released by
China Central Television,CCTV,
was falsified.
Please see these screenshots
I took from CCTV's news.
The first second of the
video shows a wide shot,
revealing a tripod behind Xi Jinping.
I'm not sure what's on top of it,
so let's just call it a tripod.
At the fourth second of the
video, and in several
close-up shots of Xi Jinping that follow,
the tripod is missing.
In the shot of CCP's Foreign
Minister Wang Yi sitting
next to Xi Jinping,
the tripod is also missing.
This image shows that when
the camera pans across the
five Chinese officials on
Xi Jinping's left, the tripod reappears.
Additionally,
this video is as long as 4
minutes and 49 seconds.
Yet, it features only the
announcer reading a script,
with no live audio whatsoever.
For me,
it is very strange for a TV
news report.
You know, I once worked in a TV station.
We paid a lot of attention
to including the original sound
of any news events.
Therefore,
my conclusion is that the video
was filmed in at least two
separate sessions.
The close-up shots of Xi
Jinping were either reshot
or filmed in advance, and
not during the actual meeting.
Interestingly, after I published the above
evidence of fabrication on the
X platform,
a follower revealed to me that
CCTV used close-up shots of
Xi Jinping from his meeting
with Vietnamese Prime
Minister Pham Minh Chinh on
June 26 to fake the
close-up shots of his
meeting with the President
of Timor-Leste on July 29.
So I investigated this claim again,
and this is what I found out.
Look at these two screenshots.
The one on the left was
captured from the video of
Xi Jinping's meeting with
the President of Timor-Leste on July 29,
and the one on the right
was captured from the video on June 26.
In the two screenshots,
even the height of the
water in the glasses is the same,
exactly the same.
The only difference is the tie:
one has a pattern, and the other does not,
but the color is the same.
It is easy to remove the
pattern on the tie using Photoshop;
even I can do it.
So my conclusion is that the
close-up of Xi Jinping is
indeed fabricated.
What's more interesting is
that I found that the video
of Xi Jinping's meeting
with the Vietnamese PM was also faked.
Look at this,
there is a tripod behind Xi
Jinping in the opening wide shot,
but it's not in the close-ups.
Is CCTV faking a habitual practice?
My guess is that
Xi Jinping's voice or image
was not good enough during the meeting,
so they always needed to
reshoot or shoot in advance.
But this time,
they didn't reshoot or shoot in advance,
but used the June 26th video instead.
Why?
Somebody told me that for safety reasons,
Xi Jinping may always use a
double for occasions where
he only needs to read from a script.
Then he personally does
close-up shots separately.
These close-ups are then
edited into the main
footage to fool the audience.
I myself don't want to draw
any conclusions here.
I think that even if Xi
Jinping does have a double,
or many doubles,
it doesn't mean anything.
Maybe he has been using
doubles for a long time and
people just didn't realize it before.
Moreover,
if there really is a double, or doubles,
it is more likely that he
or they have been there for a long time,
not just recently,
otherwise,
how can they get proper training?
Therefore, even if there is a stand-in,
it is not necessarily
related to the recent situation,
nor can it be used to prove
the various rumors about him.
After all,
if the CCP can control the
appearance of the stand-in,
it means that the machine
is still working.
Until the CCP's machine collapses,
it makes little difference
who is in charge.
Do you agree?
Looking closely at China's
political situation,
apart from the drastic
reduction of Xi Jinping's
exposure in the official media,
which we talked about last time,
there are some other
changes that are worth
paying attention to.
One is that,
as one of Xi Jinping's
hardcore inner circle,
China's Public Security
Minister Wang Xiaohong made
a speech during his
inspection in Guizhou
Province from July 22-25.
In that speech,
he did not mention Xi Jinping at all,
but only said that "we
should study and implement
the spirit of the Third
Plenary Session of the 20th
CCP Central Committee".
On July 19,
the day after the Third Plenary Session,
the Ministry of Public
Security, under Wang
Xiaohong's control, also failed
to mention Xi Jinping and Xi
Jinping Thoughts when it
organized a meeting to
so-called study the spirit
of the communiqué of the
Third Plenary Session.
This was absolutely inconceivable before.
On July 4, June 26, and June
17 of this year,
when Wang Xiaohong made
speeches on various occasions,
he always first emphasized
Xi Jinping's instructions first,
then went on with his
requirements for public
security officers.
He never failed to mention
Xi Jinping first.
In addition, in the past,
after a major meeting like
the Third Plenum,
all departments had to
organize a study of the
spirit of the meeting at
the first opportunity to
show their loyalty to Xi Jinping.
However, this time,
the military's meeting to
study the spirit of the
Third Plenary Session was not
held until July
29,
as long as 11 days after the Third
Plenary Session ended.
This was also very much out
of line with past practice.
The People's Liberation Army Daily,
the official newspaper of
the Central Military
Commission of the CCP,
published an article on July 27th,
stating that
"some people put himself above the Party,
engaging in family-style
management and only allowing one voice."
Now in China,
who can put himself above the party?
Isn't it only Xi Jinping?
So, from all indications,
after the Third Plenary Session,
something unusual did
happen around Xi Jinping,
there could be three possibilities.
One is that people around Xi
Jinping are forcing him to
hand over some of his power,
reduce his personal dictatorship
and return to the so-called
'collective leadership'.
The second is that he may
really have some health
problems and has to show up
less often and take on
fewer major responsibilities.
The third possibility is
that he has seen that the
situation in China is so
bad that he does not want
to take up the responsibility
alone and therefore
deliberately downplays his presence.
Whichever the case may be,
I think the CCP has reached
the end of its road under
Xi Jinping's rule,
and it is not going any further.
Many parts of the CCP's
broken machine have gone awry,
and it is possible that
one day it will collapse
due to a small problem in
one part of the machine.
In China,
when rumors about current affairs
are flying around,
they are often at historical
points when public sentiment
is surging and people are
expecting a big change
or a change of dynasty,
whether it is in the long
history of ancient China or
the contemporary society
under the rule of the CCP.
Many rumors eventually become facts,
and many other rumors
reflect public sentiment
and people's wishes.
It has been said that under the CCP's rule,
rumor is also a weapon,
a weapon against power.
The opaque political
environment of the CCP is
the fertile ground for generating rumors.
Therefore,
those who observe the political
situation in China,
if they do not understand this point,
and just go on accusing
someone of spreading rumors,
they actually do not really
understand the public
sentiment and the people's
minds in China.
Next,
Let me briefly talk about 2 more
news items.
China's declining population
has raised concerns. Now
the problem has been
reflected in the number of
kindergartens.
According to statistics from
the CCP's Ministry of Education,
the number of kindergartens
across China was 274,400 in 2023,
down 14,800 from the previous year,
a drop of more than 5 percent.
Many kindergarten teachers
lost their jobs due to the
closure and collapse of kindergartens.
And some kindergartens have
had to turn into
nursing homes in order to save themselves.
For example, in Jining City,
Shandong Province,
a man named Yu Bo and his
wife opened a kindergarten in 2003,
through 20 years of operation,
their kindergarten became a local brand,
the number of their
kindergartens gradually
expanded from 1 to 11,
the cumulative number of
graduates reached 17,000 kids.
However,
by 2023,
some kindergartens could no longer
recruit children, and
classrooms had to be left empty. Yu
Bo also learned that three
of the dozen kindergartens
in the surrounding
neighborhoods had been
closed one after another,
and there were "only about
20 newborns" in the entire community.
So he had no choice but to
turn one of their
kindergartens into a "daycare center",
providing daytime
activities and services for
seniors between the ages of 60 and 75.
Sadly, in reporting their story,
the mainland media
portrayed them as pioneers
of "successful transformation,"
touting how bright the
future of China's elderly
care market will be,
with the total number of elderly people
exceeding 300 million,
and the market for the
elderly reaching trillions of dollars,
and so on.
From the perspective of the
country as a whole,
if the number of newborns
keeps decreasing,
who will support so many
elderly people in the future?
Isn't this very worrying?
Recently,
the news that the CCP
intends to issue an
internet ID for everyone
has aroused widespread concern.
Experts say that the CCP is
under tremendous pressure
to maintain stability and
is using high technology
for prevention and control.
This is a disguised form of the
real-name system for the Internet,
imposing electronic
surveillance upon everyone.
The CCP's Ministry of Public
Security and Cyberspace
Administration of China
announced on July 26
that they would provide
natural persons with the
opportunity to apply for an
internet number and an internet ID card,
and to conduct identity verification.
An "internet number" consists
of letters and numbers and
is bound to each person's
identity information, but
does not publicly display
personal information.
An "Internet ID Card" is an
online identity
authentication certificate
that carries a "Cyber ID".
According to the announcement,
natural persons holding
valid legal identity
documents may "voluntarily"
apply for an Internet
number or Internet ID Card
from public service platforms.
The official media explained
that this program was
implemented to "reduce the
risk of information leakage"
and to curb the excessive
collection of personal
information by the platforms.
However,
some critics believe that the
online certificate is a
product of comprehensive
monitoring and control
during the pandemic,
and the technical route is
linked to the health code system
during COVID.
It is a come-back of the
Health Code with a different name.
This "internet number" is
bundled on the phone,
equivalent to the cell
phone tied to an identity
card, or an electronic certificate.
Just like in George Orwell's 1984,
now the electric screen,
the device with a remote
monitoring function,
is implanted into the cell phone.
What George Orwell didn't
even think of has come true in China.
The CCP created its one
version of 1984 in 2024.
Well, that's all for today.
