Hello everyone, welcome back to my youtube channel.
In today's video I'm gonna show you how I made these super adorable mini cats and dogs.
They're very simple and easy to make and no sewing skill required.
This video is also suitable for beginner crocheters and I believe you're gonna love making them.
Let's get started. These are the materials you're gonna need.
These are the crochet abbreviations.
If you're making the cat or the pack dog you're only gonna need one color of yarn
but here I'm gonna show you how to make the Shiba Inu so I'm gonna use two colors.
To make the body you have to start with a slip knot.
After that make 11 chains.
Into the second chain from the hook you have to make one single crochet.
Make one single crochet each into the next chains
until the end and you will get 10 single crochet in total.
So
now we have finished row one of the body and to start row two make chain one first
turn your crochet just like this and make one single crochet into each stitch.
You will also get 10 single crochet for row two.
Just like we did row two you have to make row three to row seven and don't forget to
make chain one and ten at the end of each row. You will have 10 single crochet for each row.
I have finished making up to row seven and this is how it looks like.
Now we're gonna crochet along the four sides of our rectangle aka edging.
Here is a picture for you to better understand.
We're gonna start from the first side
and make one single crochet into each row.
Remember that we have seven rows in total so one single crochet for each row.
Mark the very first stitch you made with a stitch marker and continue into the next rows.
Now we have reached to the second side and we're gonna make one single crochet into each chain.
Remember that we have 10 single crochet in each row
so we're also gonna get 10 single crochet for this as well.
Now we have reached to the top side and we're gonna make
one single crochet into each row again and we will get seven single crochet for this side.
Now we have reached to the left side and this is quite easy.
You just have to make one single crochet into each stitch and you will get 10 single crochet.
So
when you have finished make one slip stitch into the very first stitch
and we have just finished making the row 8 of the body and we get 34 single crochet in total.
From this point we start crocheting in rounds. For round 9 make chain one and insert your hook
into the same stitch that you made the slip stitch into and make one single crochet. Mark
the first stitch with a stitch marker and for this round you just have to make
one single crochet into each stitch and there will be 34 single crochet in total.
At the end of every round we're gonna connect with a slip stitch into the first stitch.
Make round 10 exactly the same way as we did in round 9.
For round 11 first you have to make 8 single crochet.
After making 8 single crochet we're gonna do 5dc cluster stitch and I'm gonna show you how.
Wrap your yarn around the hook, insert into the next stitch, pull through and pull through two
loops. Do not pull through that last two loops. Instead wrap the yarn again,
insert into the same stitch, pull through and pull through two loops.
Wrap your yarn again, insert into the same stitch and pull through two loops only.
You have to do that for two more times.
Now we have six loops on our crochet hook and we're gonna pull through all these six loops.
After that we're gonna make single crochet into the next stitch.
Place your hook under this cluster stitch and insert your hook into the next stitch,
make one single crochet.
After that make five more single crochet in the next stitches.
After that we're gonna make 5dc cluster stitch again just like we did the first one.
After that make one single crochet into each stitch
until the end of the round. Don't forget to connect with a slip stitch at the end.
This is how round 11 looks like and now we're gonna do round 12.
For round 12 you just have to make one single crochet into each stitch
and you will get 34 single crochet in total. And since we're making the Shiba Inu now I'm gonna
change to the brown color at the end of this round but if you're not you can just continue
with the same color. To now finish the last stitch of round 12 we're gonna introduce new yarn.
Place it at the top of your hook and pull through just like this
and make one slip stitch into the very first stitch.
From round 13 to round 16 you just have to make one single crochet into each stitch and there
will be 34 single crochet in each round. Don't forget to connect with a slip stitch at the end.
This is how it looks like after round 16 and we're gonna make round 17 now.
For round 17 we're only gonna use the back loops of our single crochet stitches.
Insert your hook into the back loops only and make six single crochet first.
After making six single crochet we're gonna make one decrease by using the back loops only.
After that make eight single crochet.
After making eight single crochet make one decrease again
and after that make five single crochet.
After five single crochet make one decrease again
after that make seven single crochet.
Make one decrease by using the last two stitches
and make one slip stitch into the very first stitch.
To make round 18 chain one and make three single crochet first.
After three single crochet make one decrease so you have to repeat this three single crochet
one decrease pattern for five more times. Don't forget to connect with slip stitch at the end.
After round 18 start stuffing the body really nice and tight to get that round and chubby body.
For round 19 first you have to make two single crochet.
Make one decrease after that repeat this pattern for five more times and connect
with a slip stitch at the end. For round 20 you have to make one single crochet.
After that one decrease and repeat this pattern for five more times.
Stuff the body again really nice and tight. We're gonna make the last round.
For the last round you have to make six decreases in total.
After six decreases pull through and cut the yarn.
With the darning needle insert into the slip stitch first from behind just like this
and insert into the front loops only of the single crochet stitches from behind
all the way until the end.
Pull the yarn tightly at the end and insert the needle back into the center
and into a few other places. After that we can cut the yarn.
Now we just finished making the body and this is how it looks like.
Separate two strands of black yarn to embroider the face. First we're gonna use the pins
and mark the place to make the eyes. There must be four stitches between the eyes.
So
above the eyes.
Now we're gonna make the ears. You will see the remaining front loops from round 17
and count the seventh stitch of that round.
Insert your hook into that seventh stitch.
Pull the yarn through and make four chains.
Into the second chain from the hook make one single crochet.
Make one half double crochet into the next chain
and make one double crochet into the last chain.
After that skip two stitches and make one slip stitch into the ta stitch.
After that you can cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
We're gonna make the second ear starting from the fifth stitch from the first one.
So there must be four stitches between two ears.
Insert your yarn and make the same way as the first ear.
So we just finished making our Shiba Inu. For the pack dog I used beige color yarn for the body
and to make the eyes we're gonna mark with the pins first.
Mark the pins two row down from the round 17 of the body.
Four stitches apart between two eyes.
Embroider the eyes the same way as we did previously for the Shiba Inu.
Using a dark brown yarn we're gonna crochet the nose. Start with a magic ring.
Make chain one.
After that make one half double crochet into the magic ring.
Chain one and make one slip stitch into the magic ring. Repeat that for one more time.
Pull the yarn tightly after that and you can cut the end. You can either sew or glue the nose.
Using a dark brown yarn crochet the ears exact same way as Shiba Inu.
Using a pink wet cloth I'm gonna cut very tiny tongue shape and I'm gonna glue it right under
the nose.
Now we just finished another super cute pack dog.
The body base pattern for every cats and dogs are the same.
There are only slight differences in the ears and their faces.
And now I'm showing you how I made the face of the white cat.
So
now we're gonna make the ears for the cat.
Count the sit stitch of round 17. Insert your hook into the front loop.
Grab your yarn just like that.
And make four chains.
Into the second chain from the hook make one single crochet.
Make one double crochet into the next chain.
And make one double crochet into the last chain.
For the cat's ears we want to make it slightly tilted and like the dog's one.
So we're gonna make slip stitches differently. First skip three stitches.
And insert your hook into the round 18 of the body just like that.
And make the slip stitch.
Now we can cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
We're gonna make the second ear four stitches apart from the first one.
Insert your hook just like that onto round 18.
Grab your yarn and crochet the same way as the first ear.
At the end insert your hook into the stitch just right above the whiskers
and make the slip stitch. You can now cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
For the green cat everything is the same only slight difference in the nose.
Actually you can play around with the facial expression and do anything you like.
Happy, sad or angry.
