汪铎，1938年出生，苏州人。外祖父吴兰荪、生母吴湘岑均善琴。师从舅父吴湘泉兆基先生。北京大学读书期间，常游北京古琴研究会，求学于杨乾斋葆元先生。先生抚琴讲究手势指法，注重阴阳虚实，妙得气韵，尤注重丝弦操缦之细微玄妙。打谱数十曲，以发掘道家琴乐为乐。琴风和静清远，恬淡冲虚，别具道家山林气息。
Wang Duo, born in 1938, is a native of Suzhou, China. His grandfather Wu Lansun and mother Wu Xiangcen are both good at Guqin. Mr Wang is a disciple of Mr. Wu Zhaoji who is his uncle as well. During his studies at Peking University, he often visited Beijing Guqin Research Association and studied Guqin under guide of Mr. Yang Baoyuan. Mr. Wang pays attention to gesture and fingering in playing Guqin, pays attention to the yin and yang, vacant and reality which can form a wonderful charm, especially to the subtle and mysterious in playing Guqin with traditonal silk string. He has discovered dozens of music in ancient books which reveal the pleasure of Taoist thinking. His style is peaceful and clear, calm and empty, with a unique Taoist mountain and forest atmosphere.
