New York — Jalen Brunson Makes Acting Debut on ‘Law & Order: SVU’
New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson has made his first dramatic acting appearance on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU, joining actress Mariska Hargitay, with whom he shares a close friendship outside the show.
The 30-year-old NBA player appeared in the November 5 episode, taking on the role of a police officer in a scene with Hargitay’s longtime character, Olivia Benson.
What Happened During Jalen Brunson’s Scene on Law & Order: SVU?
Brunson’s appearance was brief, featuring him in just one scene during the November 5 episode.
He portrayed an officer meeting with Benson to share details about a suspect he had previously encountered. During their conversation, viewers discover that his character has recently been promoted to detective.
“Detective Madison! Look at you out of uniform, huh? Congratulations on the promotion,” Benson tells him.
Madison replies, “I focused on my goals, gave 110 percent. Things worked out.”
“Yeah. They did,” Benson responds.
Madison then provides information that helps Benson obtain a search warrant to arrest the suspect.
Jalen Brunson Previously Revealed His Dream of Appearing on SVU
Brunson had already expressed his interest in joining Law & Order: SVU after winning the NBA Championship with the Knicks earlier this year.
At the time, the basketball star revealed that appearing on the long-running crime drama was his next personal goal.
With his appearance in the November 5 episode, Brunson has now accomplished that dream.
