CARLSBAD — Lilo in Carlsbad was named to OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2026, joining four other San Diego County restaurants on the online reservation service’s annual list.
The one-Michelin-star restaurant offers a seafood-focused, multi-course tasting menu. Its 24-seat chef’s counter experience draws inspiration from the California coast and shorelines worldwide.
The other county honorees are Callie, Cesarina, Cowboy Star and LEILA, all in San Diego. California led the nation with 19 restaurants on the list.
OpenTable generated the list using more than 11 million reviews from verified diners and dining metrics collected from Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 31, 2026, the company said.
The rankings reflect diner ratings, five-star reviews, reservation demand, advance bookings, capacity and direct searches, OpenTable said.
Callie, chef Travis Swikard’s Mediterranean restaurant in the East Village, combines Mediterranean influences with ingredients from Southern California farmers and fishermen.
Cesarina, an Italian trattoria in the Point Loma area, is known for house-made pasta. Diners can pair different pasta shapes with sauces, and the menu includes vegan and gluten-free options.
Cowboy Star, a steakhouse and butcher shop in the East Village, combines contemporary American cuisine with Western flair. Its menu features dry-aged steaks, including a 21-day-aged double-cut porterhouse.
LEILA, in North Park, draws on Middle Eastern food and design influences, with a menu and setting inspired by cultures stretching from Morocco to Iran. The restaurant features a custom clay oven.
