The Baltimore Ravens sit at 4-4 in the AFC North. In a stacked division, the Steelers with Aaron Rodgers at 6-2, the Bengals with Joe Burrow at 5-2, and even the Browns with Deshaun Watson at 5-3, this season has been full of surprises, with the Bengals and Browns also looking like playoff contenders.

The Ravens started the season strong, as they often do, and looked like the team to beat in the AFC. That was before everything went downhill. Lamar Jackson suffered an ankle injury, leaving him sidelined for a projected four to six weeks.

Jackson ended up coming back three weeks into his recovery timeline and got injured again, this time suffering a right thumb injury to his throwing hand on the very first play of the game.

It has been confirmed that he will require surgery, and he could potentially be out for the rest of the 2026 season.

Before Jackson got hurt, the Ravens were 3-1 through weeks 1-4 and sat first in the AFC North. Since then, they have fallen to 4-4.

The Ravens’ struggles with injuries from last season have carried into this season, leaving fans to wonder: is this the end of an era? Is Jackson time in Baltimore slowly coming to an end?

Many are looking at the Ravens’ offensive line, which currently sits at No.23 in Pro Football Focus (PFF) rankings early in the season. Having three quarterbacks injured within two weeks is definitely a concern moving forward for a team with big aspirations.

The Ravens have been frustrated. Star safety Kyle Hamilton responded to reporters when asked how the quarterback injuries on offense had impacted the defensive unit.

“I mean this with no disrespect, but s— has nothing to do with us. We’re a defense, and at the end of the day you gotta go out there and play how you want to be remembered.”

Looking back at the playoff runs the Ravens have made over the past couple of years, they just have not been able to close the gap. They haven’t been able to finish the job and get over the hump. Now, with another season potentially disrupted by their MVP quarterback missing significant time and uncertainty at the quarterback position, people want to know what’s next.

The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Nov. 1, and have a quick turnaround this week against a young, talented, and hungry team: The Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars sit atop the AFC South with a 5-2 record and are looking to continue their winning streak with a victory over the Ravens on Thursday, Nov. 5.

With another loss this Thursday and the trade deadline approaching on Nov.10, this could be a make-or-break game for the Ravens and could determine what happens next with the team. We could potentially see this ship sink as the organization begins preparing for the upcoming draft.

Thursday night’s game carries significant pressure for the players and Ravens fans who believed in this team this season and were looking forward to a Super Bowl run.
