United States — The Angry Birds Movie is returning to the big screen as Iconic Events Releasing and Sony Pictures Entertainment prepare a nationwide theatrical re-release to mark the film’s 10th anniversary. The week-long event will begin November 13, 2026, with screenings scheduled at select theaters across the country.

Originally released by Sony Pictures Entertainment on May 20, 2016, the animated film became a box-office success, earning more than $350 million worldwide. It also ranked among the ten highest-grossing animated films worldwide that year.

Tickets for the anniversary screenings went on sale through major ticketing platforms on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

The theatrical return will feature the film’s ensemble voice cast, including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn, Tony Hale and Keegan-Michael Key, alongside Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage.

Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis directed The Angry Birds Movie, with Jon Vitti writing the screenplay. John Cohen and Catherine Winder produced the film, while Mikael Hed and David Maisel served as executive producers.

The story centers on Red, a bird known for his temper, Chuck, who is exceptionally fast, and Bomb, an unpredictable character. The three have long been outsiders on an island inhabited entirely by cheerful, flightless birds. Their lives take an unexpected turn when mysterious green pigs arrive, leaving the unlikely group to uncover the visitors’ intentions.

The anniversary re-release offers families another opportunity to experience the animated film in theaters during its special week-long run at select locations nationwide.
